Meek Mill’s supporters protest on the streets of Philadelphia to demand for his release from Jail

Rick Ross & Fans Rally For Meek Mill In Philadelphia

Several hundreds of Meek Mill’s supporters and his record label boss Rick Ross took to the streets of Philadelphia to demand for the rapper’s release from prison.
Meek has since started serving a 2 to 4 year prison sentence for violating his probation. In addition to the rally, an online petition pushing for his release now has over 350,000 signatures.

Sadly there are Black folks going through the same radicalized injustice(s) within the justice system that Meek Mill has experienced for over a decade EVERY SINGLE DAY. This requires more than just gradual reform in laws—It requires a swift overhaul.

MEEK MILL I GOT $68,000 ON MY WRIST But I May Not Be Allowed to Wear It

0201-meek-mill-rolex-MAIN-INSTAGRAM-01Meek Mill dropped $68,000 over the weekend on a Rolex ... which might become an antique before he's able to wear it, because they don't allow fancy watches in the slammer.
Meek bought the piece from Joe the Jeweler aka "Shyne." It's a custom-made Presidential Rolex with 23 carats of white round diamonds.
Here's the problem ... Meek has a hearing Friday in his probation violation case. You'll recall he left the state of Pennsylvania without permission. There are also allegations he tried to cheat a drug test. The judge could send Meek to prison for the violation.
Meek might need a fortified safety deposit box for his collection.

BET Awards 2014: 1 shot dead, 1 stabbed at 'unaffiliated' awards parties

A fatal shooting and a separate stabbing at unsanctioned parties celebrating Sunday's BET Awards cast a shadow over the event, where top superstars like Lil Wayne, Chris Rock and others were set to mark the best in black entertainment.
meekmillpromo.jpgRapper Meek Mill hosted a BET Awards pre-party Saturday night that was interrupted by a fight that left a man stabbed, according to website hotnewhiphop.com.
One person was killed and five injured in two separate incidents ahead of the show at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live, Los Angeles police said. The events were "unauthorized and unaffiliated with the BET Awards," BET said in a statement.
"The network and all organizers will continue to maintain a safe environment for all planned activities," the statement said.
The death and four of the injuries followed gunfire early Sunday at a restaurant, Officer Drake Madison said. Separately, a man was stabbed in the stomach Saturday night at a nightclub. Rapper Meek Mill hosted the party where a fight led to the stabbing, according to websitehotnewhiphop.com.
The violence could change the mood at the ceremony. This year, some of the performers include Pharrell, John Legend and Nicki Minaj.
Top nominees are Drake, Beyonce and Jay Z, who have five each.
Drake, who was originally set to perform at the show, will not attend, BET said Sunday. A representative for Beyonce also said the singer wouldn't attend, and her husband's rep wouldn't divulge if Jay Z would be there or not. Their attendance had nothing to do with the violence at the weekend parties.
Drake didn't attend last year's show, where he won video of the year. This year, the 27-year-old rapper's "Worst Behavior" is nominated for the top prize, competing with Beyonce's "Drunk in Love" and "Partition," as well as Pharrell's "Happy" and Chris Brown's "Fine China."
Beyonce and Jay Z launched a co-headlining stadium tour days ago. She is nominated for best female R&B/pop artist, with little competition aside from Rihanna, while her husband will battle Drake, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole and Future for best male hip-hop artist.
Pharrell scored four nominations, including best male R&B/pop artist, best collaboration for Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" and the viewer's choice award. Beyonce, Drake and rising newcomers August Alsina and Jhene Aiko are also up for the fan-voted award.
Thicke, who is set to release his new album, "Paula" -- an ode to his wife, Paula Patton, whom he is separated from -- on Tuesday, will perform Sunday. Usher, Lil Wayne, Mary J. Blige and Iggy Azalea will also take the stage.
Minaj and Azalea -- whose anthemic "Fancy" has spent its fifth week on top of the Billboard charts -- will compete for best female hip-hop artist, an award Minaj has won consecutively for four years.
Lionel Richie will be honored with a lifetime achievement award at the show, to be hosted by Chris Rock. Kerry Washington, Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union are among this year's presenters.

50 Cent & Meek Mill Respond To Summer Jam's "Chain Snatching"

50 Cent

Since Slowbuck’s chain was taken at Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2014 concert, the CEO of the brand, fired accusations at 50 Cent, leading to continuous dispute over his involvement in the situation.

50 responded to such allegations by calling out Slowbuck during G-Unit’s reunion concert, telling the crowd, “I want everyone to get home safe, because there’s so much police in here courtesy of Slowbucks.”

Further disses were thrown across Instagram through videos and comments, while the recent “0-300 Real Shit” track released by Slowbucks shows the beef is only being entertained. Holding the view that 50 had a plan to damage the brand, this argument seems endless.

Escalating from this matter, former Dreamchaser’s Louie V Gutta, who had $40,000 worth of his jewellery taken at gunpoint, late September, has taken the chance to attack Philly’s Meek Mill.

Meek’s Twitter response was not taken lightly which read, “Slow got the chain back, you got to chill bro, you drawing!” as a reply to Gutta’s comment, “What goes around comes around…karma.”

This kicked off the whole disagreement and both artists have now covered Drake’s “0-100” record going in at each other.

Gutta also took this opportunity to have his say on the earlier event. "New York nigga got his chain snatched. Strong arm, no gun, can you explain that? At Summer Jam with all his friends with fame at and you was there too Meek…go get his chain back."

Cassidy Says "My Name Holds Weight", Talks Meek Mill Beef

Cassidy

With the constant lyrical disses thrown out between both Cassidy and Meek in tracks such as “Catch A Body” and “Repo,” it is apparent that an issue has been overseeing the artists for quite some time.

Back in 2013, Meek Mill addressed the beef with Cassidy and explained, “He a weirdo from the town. We ain’t gonna use his name no more. He can't come back to the city.”

The Dreamchaser artist added, “I make boss moves, I make power moves, I get money, my bills is paid up. Meek Mill…Cassidy diss, we aint doin' that no more, make a single nigga, that’s not my twist.”

Casssidy has now voiced his opinions in a recent interview, saying, “Nah, we ain’t talked, it’s Hip-Hop man, you know what I’m sayin’. You know the media try to make it seem like it’s on some street beef. I don’t want nothin' to happen to Meek, like that was my homie. I was showing him love before the whole world even knew who he was.”

Whether there is a major underlining problem on the rise is unclear, although Cassidy does make it noticeable that he enjoys having an opponent in the game, as it brings excitement back to Hip-Hop.

“I feel as though niggas need to be more competitive man, everybody friends and hugging, like where the competition at? You know what I mean?”

Wrapping up the interview, the Philly rapper laughs, “I’m not gonna apologize for nothin’ I said, because I wanted to say it.”

“I’m a legend, my name holds weight.”

Meek Mill Being Sued For $750,000 By Former Cop

Meek Mill

It seems artists in the music industry are constantly facing new drama and Meek Mill seems to have his fair share.

Since recently attempting and failing to sue Philadelphia after marijuana accusations were held, Meek now has to deal with a cop who feels some type of way.

The former officer, who played a part in the case, is claiming that Meek has damaged his reputation and character by speaking badly of him across the media. Having failed to find work over a yearly period, the cop says it is now extremely difficult for him to find future employment.

A lawsuit also states: "It has had a strong affect on my life and relationship performance with my fiancee."

Due to the aforementioned reasons, Meek Mill is now being sued the weighty amount of $750,000 to pay for the damages and troubles he has caused this individual.

We can await the Philly rappers response to this matter, will he hit back?

Cassidy Releases Meek Mill Diss "The Diary Of A Hustla"

After engaging in a war of words on Twitter, Cassidy goes in on Meek Mill.
Earlier this morning, Cassidy and Meek Mill tossed barbs on Twitter, with the Maybach Music Group rapper stating that Cassidy "can't pave the way with 'Come to my hotel.'"
Now, Cassidy has taken the beef to wax, releasing a diss track titled "The Diary of a Hustla." On the song, he claims that Meek lives a lifestyle opposite of what he portrays and adds in a few low blows. "Don't believe this nigga hustlin', this nigga bluffin' / Look him in his eyes, the only time he cookin' pies is in the kitchen oven," he raps. "His fake ass better break fast before he get his food ate like an Egg McMuffin / He ain't the only nigga fuckin' that chick he cuffin."

NORTH PHILLY MINISTER CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF MEEK MILL DUE TO "AMEN" TRACK

A North Philadelphia minister thinks Meek Mill's track "Amen" is blasphemous to the church and is calling for a boycott of the hometown rhyme slinger and MMG star.
"I'm a hip-hop fan, but I believe there is a need to really call him out and say enough is enough," Reverend Jomo K. Johnson of Philly's Open Air church told the PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS. "He seems to really be using the church as a backdrop and a parallel for some of the sinful things that he does."
"As a hip-hop fan, I want to encourage every rap fan in Philadelphia who is a believer in Jesus Christ, to boycott Meek Mill until he acknowledges this blatant disrespect," Johnson added. "And being resident of North Philadelphia and pastor, I revoke Meek's 'hood pass' until this happens."
He also self-published an e-book called, NO AMEN: WHY BOYCOTTING MEEK MILL WILL HELP SAVE HIP HOP. And this isn't the first time that a rapper has irked Johnson, either.Johnson previously tried to analyze the cultural impact of Lil Wayne with his book, Deadest Rapper Alive, the contrary to Weezy's self-proclaimed "Greatest Rapper Alive" title, andhad theDEADESTRAPPERALIVE.COM website to match.
Johnson was irate about certain Meek lyrics off the Drake-assisted single, in particular.
"I just wanna thank God/For all the pretty women he let into my life/All the Benjamins he let me count ..." Meek begins talking over the track, before getting into the hook of the song.
"Now it's a lot of bad bitches in the building (Ooh, Amen)," he says. "A couple real niggas in the building (Amen)/I'm finna kill niggas in the building (Amen)."
Meek is scheduled to release his highly-anticipated DREAMS AND NIGHTMARES album on August 28.

Chris Brown: Meek Mill Did NOT Attack Me With Bottle

Chris Brown is disputing reports that rapper Meek Mill attacked him during the nightclub brawl between Brown’s crew and Drakes entourage at New York’s club W.i.P. early Thursday.
Numerous outlets claimed Mill was the person who hit Brown in the head with a bottle, causing a gash on his chin.
But Brown appears to have cleared up that rumor on Twitter.
On Thursday afternoon, the performer wrote, “Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that bulls**t. Real respect Real….”
Mill also addressed the report on Twitter, saying he ”wasn’t even really in” the fight.

19 Year Old Davido Parties it Up with D’Banj at Strip Club in Atlanta, USA

The occasion was rapper Meek Mill’s 25th birthday party…The date: 2nd of May. The venue: Diamonds of Atlanta, an upscale gentleman’s club…translation strip club, so lots of lap dances and naked chicks…oshey!

D’Banj and Davido hit up the strip club in Atlanta last Tuesday to party with MMG’s Meek Mill, DJ Drama & half naked big booty girls. D’Banj’s brother Kay Switch & Sina Rambo were also there.

Our naija stars are balling o…One question though: what was Davido looking for there? At 19 years old isn’t he underage? You have to be 21 to enter a nightclub/strip club in the US. I guess he was on some fake id tings. **Kanya Shrug**

More pictures of the Meek Mill, DJ Drama and the strippers at the club…WARNING THEY ARE NOT SAFE FOR WORK or YOUR PARENTS or SCHOOL O!

Meek Mill Announces Dreamchasers 2 Release Date

Meek Mill isn't about to stop chasing his dreams anytime soon.

The Philly-bred MC and cornerstone artist of MMG hit Twitter on Monday (March 26) to announce the release date of hisDream Chasers 2mixtape.

"#Dreamchasers2 April 24th ...... Gotta feed them streets!" Meek tweeted out to the masses.

Of course, the second installment is a follow-up to last summer's, critically acclaimed original,Dream Chasers, which had Meek raising his stock tremendously.

That mixtape spawned singles in the forms of "House Party" and the street anthem, "Ima Boss," featuring Rick Ross. "Body Count" and "Work" also featured Rozay, while the rest of the compilation included assists from the likes of Yo Gotti and fellow Philadelphians Young Chris and Beanie Sigel.

Meek's announcement ofDream Chasers 2 should only add to what's already shaping up to be a hot spring and summer for the young MC. That's because, last Thursday (March 22),Drake announced that he'll be bringing Meek on the continuation of his Club Paradise tour, which added 27 dates stretching from May 7 in Concord, California to June 17 in Boston, touching down in cities such as Houston, Detroit, New York City and Meek's own Philly in between. J. Cole, Waka Flocka, French Montana and 2 Chainz are amongst the other guests on the Club Paradise tour's extended leg.

A track listing forDream Chasers 2 has yet to be announced.
