Prince Harry's hug with a hero as he salutes wounded veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and meets Michelle Obama to launch Invictus Games

Hug for a hero: Prince Harry embraces US Marine Sergeant Roderic Liggens as he launches the Invictus Games at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, today, with First Lady Michelle Obama. The eight-year veteran, a father of one, is being treated for mental health issues

Prince Harry hugged a wounded hero today as he hailed American and British veterans at the launch, with First Lady Michelle Obama, of the Invictus Games 2016.

The prince, a veteran of the war against the Taliban, put his arms round US Marine Sergeant Roderic Liggens as he and Mrs Obama toured the USO Warrior and Family Center at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, close to Washington D.C.
His hug with Sgt Liggens came as he spoke of the need for more help for those suffering 'invisible injuries', including the Marine, who is an eight-year veteran being given behavioral therapy at the center.
Those traumatized by war were also the theme of Mrs Obama, who was supported by Dr Jill Biden, vice-president Joe Biden's wife as the three launched the 2016 Invictus Games.
The games, for wounded service personnel of both countries and others, first took place in London last year. They are based on the Warrior Games which took place in Colorado in 2013.
Harry, whose sister-in-law the Duchess of Cambridge has long championed mental well-being, said: 'One thing we have to talk about more is breaking down these barriers around so-called invisible injuries, like post-traumatic stress, just as we have for physical injuries like the loss of a limb.

PHOTO: Taylor Gammel, 19, was missing for hours and police believed she was able to sleepwalk for nine miles.
A Colorado woman told police she has no memory how she got nine miles from her Denver, Colo., home, even though she was found in her pajamas and with no shoes.
Taylor Gammel, 19, was missing for hours on Tuesday morning before she was found or rather "woke up" nine miles from her home, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
"She came out of a sleepwalking state and she was on the side of the road and recognized where she was," Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mark Techmeyer told ABC News.
Gammel was reported missing by her parents around 6 a.m. Tuesday, though she hadn't been seen since 10 p.m. the night before when she went to bed.
Techmeyer said Gammel was wearing sweatpants, a t-shirt and socks when she was found. Techmeyer said there's a chance that Gammel might have been able to take a bus part of the way, but without an ID, wallet or money, he doubts that was possible.
Dr. Shlini Paruthi, a board-certified sleep specialist and associate professor of pediatrics and internal medicine at St. Louis University, said Gammel's nine-mile walk is not unheard of.
"It’s a subconscious state and for the most part [sleepwalkers] do look awake…they have their eyes open and they have a glassy look to their eyes," explained Paruthi. "They can do simple behaviors and walk down steps. They can do routine behaviors…kids will urinate in the wrong place or they wake up in the wrong place."
Paruthi said some people will even sleep eat or sleep drive without ever waking.
"This is something that can be so scary for the person when they find out what happened," Paruthi said.
Paruthi said sleepwalking is most common in young children but that it can happen to people at any age. Paruthi said loud noises, sleep apnea or heartburn can cause a teen or adult to start sleepwalking.
Paruthi said it's key for a patient with sleepwalking problems to take safety steps such as installing door or window alarms, so that either the sleepwalker or their family will be alerted if they try to make a break for it. She also said it's important for the family to lock up anything dangerous such as knives, guns or even car keys if a family member is sleepwalking around the house.
As for the urban legend that you should never wake a sleepwalker, Paruthi said it's usually safe to wake up a sleepwalker as long as it's gently. She did, however, emphasize that a sleepwalker can occasionally be violent upon waking.
"I think the most important thing is certainly realizing that there are safety measures that all family members can take," said Paruthi.

Baby born without a brain amazes doctors by celebrating his second birthday - and says 'mummy' for the first time

When two-year-old Aaron said 'Mummy', Emma, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, said it seemed like a miracle as her son was born with only the tiniest part of a brain

For any mother, hearing their baby's first word is a momentous occasion. But for Emma Murray, it was a moment she thought would never happen with her youngest child Aaron.

When the two-year-old said 'Mummy', Emma, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, said it seemed like a miracle as her son was born with only the tiniest part of a brain.
Just minutes after giving birth in 2013, Emma, 24, was told by doctors that Aaron had a very rare health condition known as holoprosencephaly which they said left him 'incompatible with life'.
Aaron was born with only a brain stem - which allows him to breathe and move - but does not have a full brain.

When two-year-old Aaron said 'Mummy', Emma, from Lanarkshire, Scotland, said it seemed like a miracle as her son was born with only the tiniest part of a brain
Emma was advised to invite her closest family to the hospital to meet her newborn boy before he passed away.
But more than two years on, Aaron is not only alive but enjoys giggling and clapping his hands with his big brother, Jack, aged three.

    FUTURE SHUTS DOWN DATING RUMORS

Despite the Future and Blac Chyna speculations, Future told Twitter that he is single and it should be believable because he “don’t f*ck wit no rumors”.
So does that mean that Blac Chyna’s recent tattoo of the word future isn’t for the “Blow A Bag” rapper? Even though she made a video singing “Blow A Bag” and pointed out the fact that the ATL rapper said “Chyna gon’ f*ck me so crazy”. Hmm
Well they’ve been spotted a few times in public together. Nothing romantic, just simply two people at the same place at the same time. So maybe it’s the fans who are making something out of nothing.
    Check out Future’s tweets below:

SUGE KNIGHT PLEADS GUILTY IN ROBBERY CASE WITH KATT WILLIAMS

    suge

Suge Knight has been plastered all over headlines for much of the year due to his hit-and-run antics on the set of the Straight Outta Compton movie, which left one man dead and another critically injured, but that’s not the only serious trouble the former Death Row head honcho has found himself in this year.
A previous case, one in which he had been charged with robbery after he and comedian Katt Williams allegedly stole a photographer’s camera last year, was still ongoing, but its conclusion appears to be imminent. Knight, along with Williams, pleaded guilty to the robbery charges in court yesterday.
Just days after being shot in Los Angeles last year, Knight allegedly stole photographer Leslie Reddon‘s camera following a physical struggle, which reportedly took place because Knight didn’t want Reddon taking pictures of his son. Knight’s attorney, Thomas Mesereau, defended his client’s actions, saying they were that of a protective father, but the judge would have none of it. In fact, Knight’s attempts to get a happy birthday message to his son by holding up a sign to courtroom cameras was frowned upon by Judge Ronald Coen, and Coen threatened to shackle Knight’s hands should he try it again.
Knight remains behind bars on $10 million bail in his murder case regarding the Straight Outta Compton set hit-and-run.

    Most Controversial Rap Album Covers

Twenty-five years ago today, Miami hip-hop group 2 Live Crew was arrested in Florida after a U.S. District Court Judge decided that their third album, As Nasty As They Wanna Be, was actually too nasty for the state of Florida. Despite having been on shelves since February 1989, ANAIWB became the first album to be declared legally obscene, a ruling that seems extraordinarily ridiculous in retrospect but was a landmark decision at the time. The album's cover, featuring four bikini-clad women standing over each of the group's four members,

How Big And Rich MTN Walked The Outlaw Path Into $5.2bn Fine In Nigeria

A confidential document obtained from within Nigeria's Communications Commission (NCC) shows that MTN Nigeria, the telecom giant which was fined a massive $5.2bn yesterday, is a serial offender of regulations in the industry, and explains how the staggering figure was arrived at.

The fine, which MTN says it is studying, is a punishment for non-compliance with a deadline set by the NCC to disconnect all non-registered sim cards.

The document explains that the punishment follows a review of the registration records of all the telecom operators, and having taken into consideration their compliance records, the agency imposed a fine on MTN alone for non-compliance on SIM registration.

DRAKE’S DEAL WITH APPLE MUSIC MAY HAVE PREVENTED HIM FROM GETTING HIS FIRST #1 HIT

    drake hotline
Drake is the #1 rapper alive right now, and he’s never had a #1 hit. Fortunately for him, that’s not horrible company to be in at this stage in his career. Jay Z was on year 13 before he andAlicia Keys teamed up for his first chart-topper, “Empire State of Mind,” and Snoop Dogg was 11 years in before he and Pharrell snagged the top spot with “Drop It Like It’s Hot.” Still, neither rapper was ever as dominant on the radio waves as Drake has been in the last two years, and neither rapper “went Pop” out of the gate like Drizzy Drake did. It’s a pretty cruel reality. The guy’s doing numbers like he’s pop, but can’t reach the pop promiseland. For context, the first song MIMS–remember him?–ever served to radio went #1. Yeah, the “This Is Why I’m Hot” guy.

This guy used a frequent-flyer loophole to take a $60,000 trip in a first-class suite on Emirates — here's what it was like

After a quick breakfast, I decided to get a refill of champagne and sit on one of the many spacious couches lying around the lounge. As I made myself comfortable, the lounge assistant came over with my carry-on and put it next to me, without me even asking.
If you're looking to fly in style, it doesn’t get much better than a first-class suite aboard the iconic Emirates airline.
Travel blogger Sam Huangrecently cashed in his Alaska Airlines frequent-flyer miles for a $60,000 trip around the world, and luckily he took plenty of pictures documenting what it was like.
"Unlimited Dom Perignon, wild caviar, and a shower spa while flying 40,000 feet in the air — it's no wonder the Emirates First Class Suite is consistently named one of the best airline seats in the world," Huang writes over at his travel blog,TopMiles.
Huang's trip spanned 11 cities, seven countries, and five continents, and he managed to pay only $300 for the journey — in addition to cashing in his frequent-flyer miles — by taking advantage of a clever loophole when booking the trip. After checking with the airline, Business Insider can confirm that the booking was legitimate.

Becky Watts's stepbrother tells court how the 16-year-old fought for her life as he killed her - but claims he was only trying to make her pass out

  • Matthews (pictured alongside his girlfriend Shauna Hoare) said he never meant to kill the 16-year-old but later admitted to having anger issues, telling the jury: 'If you corner a rat, then you will attack'
  • Becky Watts's stepbrother has told jurors of the moment he inadvertently killed the 16-year-old as he tried to handcuff her and force the schoolgirl into a suitcase during a botched kidnap attempt.
Nathan Matthews claimed he tried to make the teenager pass out by using a grip he said was 'like strangling' but which 'doesn’t completely restrict the air', as Becky desperately fought for her life.
The 28-year-old then told how 'something didn't feel right', adding: 'I checked for a pulse and she didn’t have a pulse.'
Taking to the witness box on the first day of his defence, Matthews described how he put on a mask and knocked on the schoolgirl's bedroom door before wrapping Sellotape around her mouth and trying to force her into a suitcase when she answered.
Matthews said he put handcuffs on Becky when she got down on her knees but then punched her and put his fingers on her nose to 'make her pass out' when the teenager began resisting.
  • RANKINGS: Here's who has the best chance at being our next president

    Meet the front-runner
With less than 100 days to go before the first actual votes of the 2016 presidential race are cast, the summer of the "outsider" has quickly become the autumn of the "outsider."
In the Republican field, real-estate tycoon Donald Trump and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson continue to dominate. They consistently account for more than 50% of the GOP vote in national and early-state polls.
And among the Democratic roster, self-described democratic socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) has become the clear alternative to the party's front-runner, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
