Photo:Chris Brown live in Lagos
The hottest R&B star Chris Brown performed in Lagos on Saturday, December 22nd with a bunch of other Nigerian artistes like Wizkid and others at the Expo Hall in Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
I’m still buzzing from last night’s (22nd December) Chris Brown concert which went down at the Expo Hall, Eko Hotel, Lagos. Say what you want about Chris Brown ( but not on this blog cos we are Team Breezy), Rihanna/Karrauche drama, legal issues aside…the 23 year old R and B bad boy was made for the stage!
I got there late so I missed all the Nigerian acts. But CB performed an energetic set for nearly 2 hours. For part of his set he brought on stage EME superstar Wizkid, who performed the Azonto remix, the crowd went buck wild as the two performed together and even busted out some azonto moves! Chris Brown can dance o! Play anything and that boy will dance…chai!
Wiz wasn’t phased by the fact he was sharing a stage with one of the most sought out performers in the world right now…he held his own, and I am so proud of him!
Asides the dancing, singing and teasing, Chris Brown at some point during his set started smoking weed, probably from nearby bar beach…LOL. He’s such a bad boy, I can see why Rihanna can’t stay away from him.
OMG people it was MAD! That’s all I can remember for now cos I am still recovering from my crazy christmas weekend! But I’ll definitely be keeping you posted with more gossip haha!

Hollywood Actor, Denzel Washington To Visit Nigeria
Hollywood actor, Denzel Washington, is expected to arrive in Nigeria next week to take part in the shooting of Spider Basket, a new movie funded by Nigerian businessman, Dennis Osadebe.
Osadebe himself arrived in Nigeria from his base in Turkey last Friday in company with his Turkish partner, Abdulkadir Erkahraman.
Osadebe’s decision to invest in the entertainment industry appears driven by his faith in the abundant talents in the country.
“Denzel is just one of many Hollywood stars that I want to witness the talents in this country and to impact significantly on Nollywood. Others are coming. My second movie, By Fire by Force, is due to be premiered this month,” he says.
Osadebe’s DCS Entertainment has signed up two Nigerian artistes, Wandy Boy and V2K.
Man Excretes 90 Wraps Of Cocaine In 2 Weeks
A suspected drug trafficker recently excreted 90 wraps of a substance believed to be cocaine in 14 days.
The suspect, Peter Onyeagba, 40, allegedly tested positive for drug ingestion after his arrest at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos during an inward screening of passengers on a Kenyan Airways flight. He was arrested by officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
NDLEA Airport Commander, Hamza Umar, confirmed the arrest. He said, “Onyeagba is the longest observed drug suspect since January 2012.
He began excretion the day he was arrested and took two weeks to complete observation. Some others conclude the evacuation of ingested drugs in three days, while a majority last for a week. This is the longest observed case since January.”
Onyeagba, who sells building materials for a living, is a resident of Lome, Togo. After travelling to Brazil on Nov. 15, 2012 through Ghana, Onyeagba reportedly spent two weeks in Brazil before his return to Nigeria.
Ingested drugs, according to the agency, could last for a few weeks with minimal effects on a courier if the pellets of drugs remain sealed. It could however kill in a few minutes if there is a leakage.
Onyegaba told CRIME DIGEST that he was a victim of greed. He said, “I have been selling building materials in Togo for over 10 years. I was on a business trip to Brazil with $8,000 and had planned on visiting Nigeria. Some of my friends that we usually meet in a drinking bar introduced me into drugs.
“They told me that instead of going back to Nigeria with nothing, that I should take some drugs and earn $3,000. I was not forced to smuggle the drug; I only decided to give it a try after much persuasion. I was interested in making an additional $3,000.”
The Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade, reiterated the agency’s decision to continue the fight against drug traffickers. He said, “One of our strategies is to be vigilant and ensure that any suspect caught is duly prosecuted to deter others. Most suspects are just lured by greed.
Indian police use tear gas on gang rape protesters
Police in India's capital used tear gas and water cannons Saturday to push back thousands of people who tried to march to the presidential mansion to protest the gang rape and brutal beating of a 23-year-old student on a moving bus.
Some protesters suffered injuries when they repeatedly tried to break through steel barricades in a high-security zone in New Delhi. Police fired tear gas and chased the protesters with sticks, and some of the protesters attacked police with stones during sporadic clashes throughout the day.
The protesters were demanding the death penalty for all the six suspects who have been arrested by police following the Dec. 16 attack in New Delhi.
The government said Friday that it is seeking life sentences for the assailants.
The attack last Sunday sparked days of protests across the country from women demanding authorities take tougher action to protect them against the daily threat of harassment and violence. On Friday, Indian officials announced a broad campaign to protect women in New Delhi.
Some of the protesters Saturday carried placards reading "Save women. Save India" and "Hang the rapists."
V.K. Singh, a retired Indian army chief, joined the protesters and blamed "political and bureaucratic apathy for crimes against women." He demanded immediate police reforms to train and arm security forces.
C.P.N. Singh, a junior home minister, appealed to the demonstrators, who were mostly students, to protest peacefully and avoid vandalizing government property.
"The government is hearing you and taking steps necessary to ensure the safety of women," Singh told reporters.
Ravi Shankar Prasad, a spokesman for the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party, however, condemned the police action against the protesters and asked government leaders to talk to them.
Police reinforcements rushed to the area as the crowds of protesters swelled Saturday morning on the lawns near Parliament House. The area is a high-security zone, with the presidential mansion, the prime minister's office and various ministries located there.
The victim and her companion were attacked after getting a ride on a chartered bus. Police said men on the bus gang-raped the woman and beat her and her companion with iron rods as the bus drove through the city for hours, even passing through police checkpoints. The assailants eventually stripped the pair and dumped them on the side of a road.
The victim is recovering from injuries in a New Delhi government hospital.
Nigerian Suicide bomber hits Airtel Kano office
A suspected Nigerian suicide bomber blew himself up Saturday when he rammed his car into the office gate of Airtel, one of Nigeria’s major mobile phone companies in the northern city of Kano, police said.
It was a twin bombing operation, but the second suicide bomber blew himself up in front of the office of the nation’s biggest mobile operator, MTN. He didn’t make his target.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attacks in northern Nigeria’s largest city, and no reports of any civilian deaths. But the strikes carried the imprimatur of the Boko Haram sect.
Airtel office hit by suicide bomber
There was no report of casualties from the attack, which took place around 0730 GMT.
An army spokesman in Kano, Lieutenant Iweha Ikedichi, also confirmed that the bomber blew himself up in the attack,
One Airtel worker, Bayo Osho, said that he was injured in the leg in the explosion that took place during the attack.
“A car rammed into the gate and forced his way into the premises. The car hit me on the leg and flung me into a corner before it exploded. I was dragged out and taken to the hospital by soldiers outside the gate,” he told AFP at the nearby Nassarawa Specialist hospital in Kano where he was taken.
Security agents have cordoned off Malam Kato Square, scene of the blast, while firefighters battled to put off the inferno caused by the blast.
Security agents cordoned off the scene while firefighters battled to put out the fire.
Officials from Airtel, one of the three biggest mobile phone service providers in Nigeria, were unavailable for comment.
A second suspected bomber was blown up when his car exploded outside the gate of an office of MTN, the country’s largest mobile network. “He was blown up when his car exploded outside the gate,” Ikedichi said.
No other casualties were recorded in the attack, he added.
Kano was the scene of Boko Haram’s deadliest attack yet in January, when at least 185 people were killed in coordinated bombings and shootings.
Officials of Airtel, one of the three biggest mobile phone service providers in the country, were unavailable for comments.
The attack today may signal the enactment of the fears of western nations about increasing terrorist activities in Nigeria, despite Nigerian official assurances that ‘they were on top of the situation’.

The terrorist group in northern Nigeria, the Boko Haram has stepped up its attacks in the last six months, as government forces cracked down on its members, especially in Nigeria’s North east and Kano.
This year, deaths resulting from the activities of the group, have exceeded previous years, since the group began its violent campaign against the Nigerian state in 2009, after the killing of its leader, Muhammed Yusuf extra-judicially by the police.
MTN Office In Kano Bombed 30 Minutes after Airtel's Bombing.
It's really a black Saturday in the city of Kano as another suicide bomber attacked MTN Communication office in the state capital. The occupant of the bomb-rigged car hit the MTN headquarters at Post Office Road, Kano, about 30 minutes after the attack on Airtel's office.
As at the time of reporting, credible sources told has it that the number of casualty from both attacks were already four.
Some staff and security officials on night shift were said to still be in the office when the building was hit by the suicide bomber. “There may be casualties, but at the moment I cannot disclose to you how many because we are still investigating the matter,” a security source said.
Sporadic gunshots are heard around the area.
Abusive wife set house ablaze with husband and 3 children locked inside
A Mochudi man is fighting for his life at Deborah Retief Memorial hospital after his abusive wife set the house they were sleeping in ablaze last weekend.
As the international community observed the ‘16 Days of Activism on violence against women and children’, Shianyana Modise’s estranged wife went on rampage and attempted to burn her husband and three children including a two-month old baby, inside the house.
When describing details of the horrific incident, 39-year old Shianyana Modise told of how his habitually abusive wife, Violet, had phoned informing him that she suspected that the food in the house had been poisoned.
“I had gone to the cattle post on Friday when I received the call.
She told me that she had not cooked any food as she suspected that the food had been poisoned.
When I got back home she had put all food-stuffs into a large bowl and mixed with water.
When I asked why she did that she started throwing her usual tantrums, insulting me and throwing stuff all over the place.
She broke the furniture and other household property and I went to the police station and reported the incident.
The police told us that this time the dispute was getting out of hand and they told us that the matter would be taken to court on Monday.”
Modise said he was awoken by a cloud of smoke engulfing his bedroom at 3am on Saturday and that when he opened the bedroom door the living room was on fire and he suffered burns as he tried to escape.
“When I tried to open the door to get out of the house I found that it had been locked.
I then went through the inferno and tried to rescue Violet and the kids but their room was also locked.
I managed to break the burglar bars to my room and escaped through the window.
It was only then that I managed to break the other window and rescue the kids. I was screaming for help at the same time and my brother and other neighbours came and doused the flames and we managed to get Violet out of the house.”
Superintendent Simon Sitale of Mochudi Police confirmed the incident but said Violet was undergoing psychiatric examination before any charge could be considered against her.
“After the incident the affected family members who included children aged 11 years, 8 years and two months were taken to the hospital.
The husband was badly burnt and he was admitted in hospital while the rest were treated for shock and were released.
The woman has been admitted at Sbrana Psychiatric hospital in Lobatse for mental examination.
Should the results prove that she is sane she will face a charge of attempted murder but if not she’ll walk free,” he said.
According to family members, Violet has always been hostile to her husband’s relatives and after the marriage to Modise in 2007 she stopped all the relatives from visiting.
“We share a fence but ever since she got married to my younger brother she does not allow us into her yard but her relatives are allowed to visit any time,” Modise’s brother Marutle said.
Superintendent Sitale said the incident was the first of its kind in Mochudi and advised couples to settle disputes through family mechanisms and social services.

UK Court jails four for killing a Nigerian
A UK court judge, John Bevan, has condemned what he calls Britain’s “endemic” knife culture as he jailed four members of the barking-based Harts Lane street gang for 93 years in total.
The four member gang were jailed for repeatedly stabbing a Nigerian Teenager, Kelvin Chibueze.
Dale William, 21, Lerone Boye, 25, Hugo Nwwanko, 18, and Roger Damali, 31, denied murder charges but were convicted after trial at the old Bailey.
A fifth man, Ibrahim Zakari, who threw a bottle at Kelvin during the chase earlier got a two-year jail sentence but has been set free because he had served more than a year in jail on remand.
The judge identified Williams and Boye as ringleaders in the attack, while Nwankwo joined in the violence outside the club. He said all three carried knives.
Williams was jailed for life, to serve a minimum of 26 years. He denied murder but admitted violent disorder.
Boye, was jailed for life, with a minimum of 28 years, while Damali, was jailed for life with a minimum of 23 years and Nwankwo, who was 16 at the time of the murder, was sentenced to 16 years in a young offenders institute.
Damali, told the court that he joined in the attack out of loyalty to others rather than any direct involvement.
Zakari, was cleared of murder but convicted of violent disorder, having denied both charges.
Kelvin Chibueze, rushed out of a private party at an east London venue after he was attacked in a mass brawl involving knives and bar stools.
But he tripped outside a Lidl supermarket and the rival gang members sat on his legs to stop him running away before stabbing him repeatedly with a foot-long blade.
A petty squabble over a girl is thought to have started the row because Kelvin, from Croydon, was affiliated to the notorious Dagenham Boys gang and went by the street name Boss Don Gramz.

22 Year Old Acid Victim Chika Egbo Dies
Twenty two-year-old Chika Egbo, who was bathed with acid by her fiancé, David Sulaimon, in Ikotun, Lagos, died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, in the early hours of Thursday.
Her death is coming six weeks after the November 5 attack that left her without the use of her nose, eyes and mouth.
She was fed through a pipe, connected to her neck.
At the hospital on Thursday, Chika’s father, Matthew, stood at the front of the mortuary, looking forlorn.
Matthew told PUNCH Metro, amid sob, “Her body has been transferred to the mortuary. She died around 1am today (Thursday).
“I looked at her about four days ago and realised her eyes had changed. The doctors later told me the eyes were condemned. She really suffered these past three days. I prayed to God that if it was His wish, God should take her life so that her suffering would cease. She suffered so much.
“The police have come to get the necessary details. The investigating police officer said he had to go to the court in order to prepare documents that will authorize an autopsy.”
He added that he wished the process would be hastened to enable him to take the body of his daughter for burial after the autopsy.
Chika’s death coincides with the hearing of the case at an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on Thursday, where Sulaimon is facing trial for the assault.
At the court, Chika’s family was represented by three lawyers, Mr. Nnabuike Edechime, Mr. Ben Edechime and Mr. Vincent Onwo, who are handling the case pro bono (free of charge).
The lawyers had expressed their concern about the bail granted the accused person when he was first arraigned.
They also informed the court that the victim had died.
But the Chief Magistrate, Mr. O. Olatunji, said the offence (attempted murder), which Sulaimon was charged with, was bailable.
He however said he did not approve his release since he could not perfect the bail conditions.
It was learnt that Sulaimon had remained in custody since he was first arraigned.
The prosecution applied to the court for a substitution of the attempted murder charge for murder.
Olatunji adjourned the case till January 9, 2013 for the hearing on the charge substitution.
Chika, a student of the Enugu State College of Education, fell in love with Sulaimon and had a child for him.
Their relationship had gone sour, after which Sulaimon allegedly invited her to Lagos from her Enugu base under the pretext that his mother wanted to see her.
Sulaimon poured a substance believed to be acid on Chika, resulting in extensive burns on the upper part of her body.
Chika underwent three surgeries to remove the destroyed tissues and reconstruct her face.
Matthew said Chika’s mother had not been informed about her daughter’s death. He said she would probably be informed on Friday (today).
