In the wake of Don Jazzy’s new label announcement…D’Banj congratulates & Kay Switch mocks the Mavin crew…
[READ MORE HERE - DON JAZZY REBRANDS WITH MAVIN RECORDS]
A few hours ago the playlist for the Solar Plexus mixtape dropped on Youtube [CHECK ON IT HERE], and the last 24 hours have been a tad dramatic to say the least.
Shortly after news of the new label was announced D’Banj tweeted a congratulatory message to Don Jazzy, saying “Congrats to my brother and the best producer in Africa Don jazzy on the launch of his new Record Label, MAVIN RECORDS. Wish u all the best.” to which Don Jazzy replied with a simple “Thanks Bro, God Bless”
Later in the afternoon K-Switch (D-Banj’s) bro and the only former Mo-Hits artiste without a label to call home, mocked the new Mavin crew by putting up a mock photo of the crew on his BBM display pane calling them “Revenge Records: The Avengers”…why so bitter Mr. Switch? All that time spent photo-shopping that image (if u actually did it yourself?) you could have put into recording a half decent song.
And in other Mavin news Tiwa Savage (the 1st Lady of Maven) is revealed to have been in talks with Don Jazzy for severeal months about joining forces with him. She has been officially been released from her contract with Cecil Hammond’s Flytime Promotions.
According to NETNG Tiwa Savage signed with Mavin Records 2 weeks ago, as soon she managed to wangle her way out of her contract with Flytime. If you have been following Tiwa’s career since she came on the scene 2 years ago, Flytime has been in charge of overseeing her career in the last 18 months.
Clearly Don Jazzy means business…word on the streets is that he is signing more acts to the label.
