Would you date a man fresh out of divorce?

Related image

What are some pros and cons to this? I have started dating older men and many are fresh out of divorce or 2 or 5 years out. I have no idea how divorce works. When does the exwife stop getting checks? Is it financially smart for a younger woman to date or marry a divorced man?

I know an aunt who married an older man, with grown children, who was divorced. He ended up not working, she pays his child support, is verbally abusive and still talks to his ex wife.

What’s your advice on this 360 Readers ?

Why You Should Never Be Ashamed of Getting a Divorce

Why You Should Never Be Ashamed of Getting a Divorce

When I randomly look through articles I have written on divorce or read through comments on social media posts of these same articles, there's always at least one or two "shamers" trolling the pieces. Usually these shamers quote biblical accounts or talk about how these people must be weak or awful, terrible parents (if divorced with kids) or quitters. How back in the day, "people stayed married." It's funny. These random strangers seem to think they know everything about a complete stranger's divorce and life from one article. The ones who quote religion are acting as a "god" of sorts, passing judgments on people they've never met and never will.

You, the divorced or the person about to get divorced may also get shamers from your community. Family. Friends. Neighbors. Acquaintances. "Another one bites the dust. Another one quits." You can see it on their faces, hear it in their words.

How this $100M da Vinci masterpiece flew under the radar for centuries

It watched as its then-owner, King Charles I, was beheaded in 1649.

It was hanging in Buckingham Palace back when it was still called Buckingham House in 1703.

It survived the Nazis’ 1940 London Blitz, when its keepers abandoned it in their basement.
By 1958, its origins had become so lost in time that it was sold for a paltry $90 to a collector from Louisiana.

The long, strange journey of Leonardo da Vinci’s masterwork “Salvator Mundi” takes its next turn Wednesday at Christie’s, when it goes under the hammer for a hoped-for $100 million.

It is the first Leonardo to emerge in nearly a century, and one of just 16 surviving paintings by the Renaissance Italian polymath.

“Salvator Mundi” — which translates to “Savior of the World” and depicts Jesus Christ holding an Earth-like glass orb — was nearly forgotten forever during its 500-year journey from Italy to the Big Apple.

“We came pretty close to losing it,” Alan Wintermute, a Christie’s vice president and specialist in Old Masters paintings, told The Post.

“It’s so rare that anything this important reappears in the way it has that you can’t help but be excited.”

Battered by time and marred by ham-handed attempts to restore it, the so-called “last da Vinci” was, for centuries, thought to be no more than a pupil’s copy of the original.

For decades, Sylvia Kewer’s family thought she was dead.

Kewer, who was adopted as a toddler, grew up in Emporia, Virginia, believing she was an only child. All of that changed in August when she learned she has four half-siblings.

“[Kewer] was saying her whole life she didn’t know what she was. She kept saying, ‘What am I?’ ” Kewer’s daughter, Natalie Graves Tucker, tells PEOPLE.

“Here she is thinking she’s alone all these years and doesn’t know her story … She’s always been a loner and here she has four siblings with children and grandchildren!”
On Nov. 11, Kewer met her half-siblings (and dozens of other family members) at a sweet reunion in Abingdon. Tucker rented a home for the family where they had a cookout and shared old photographs.

John Travolta is being accused of sexually assaulting a man

Uh uh! John Travolta is being accused of sexually assaulting a man

The supposed victim’s shocking description of the incident threatens to blow the lid off Travolta’s long-rumored double life as a happily married family man.

It took place at the LaQuinta Hotel in Palm Springs, California, when Travolta demanded a deep body massage at the facility’s spa, which had been opened after midnight for the actor’s private use on Feb. 15, 2000.

But the man claims Travolta wanted a more intimate rubdown.

During the massage, the star kept removing the towel “exposing” his bare buttocks, according to the never-before-seen official report.

After the masseur administered a body scrub treatment, he says Travolta told him “he was very attractive and that he had gotten him ‘excited.’”

Travolta then asked the masseur to join him in the spa’s steam room, “so he wouldn’t be alone,” says the man, who complied with the request.

Totally naked after dropping his towel, Travolta then offered to demonstrate his own massage techniques on the masseur.

As the man lay on his stomach, “Travolta reached under his towel and began to rub his inner thigh.”

Then the actor “began rubbing [the masseur’s] bare buttocks as well as in the groove between.”

Half of US adults have high blood pressure in new guidelines

New guidelines lower the threshold for high blood pressure, adding 30 million Americans to those who have the condition, which now plagues nearly half of U.S. adults.

High pressure, which for decades has been a top reading of at least 140 or a bottom one of 90, drops to 130 over 80 in advice announced Monday by a dozen medical groups.
The change means an additional 14 percent of U.S. adults have the problem, but only 2 percent of these newly added people need medication right away; the rest should try healthier lifestyles, which get much stronger emphasis in the new advice. Poor diets, lack of exercise and other bad habits cause 90 percent of high blood pressure.
