Thick fog across the UK causes chaos at UK airports leaving thousands of passengers stranded

Thick fog has sparked chaos at some of the country's busiest airports.
London's Heathrow , London City and Gatwick were all affected after the south east became covered in a thick blanket of heavy fog.
Pilots were forced to land in shockingly poor conditions, with visibility in some areas down to just 100m.
Passengers found themselves stuck on runways or facing hours of delays at airports, as some inbound flights were diverted or cancelled.
London City airport diverted all inbound flights, while 50 flights at Heathrow were cancelled.

Soldiers revolt against their superiors in Borno state

Aggrieved soldiers at the 21 Brigade of the Nigerian Army are currently on rampage over allegations of mistreatment and insincerity on the part of some of their senior officers.

According to Premium Times, the soldiers this morning began to shoot indiscriminately into the air and even threatened to kill any senior officer who comes out to stop them. A military source in Borno who spoke on condition of anonymity said;

“The brigade is based in Bama but is currently deployed at Bula Bello in Sambisa for Operation Rescue Final. But suddenly soldiers started mutinying at 6AM today, firing in all directions and threatening to pull out of the operation. As some of them fire gunshots, some started preparing vehicles to move out of location. They also warned officers to steer clear or they would be shot dead. They are saying their commanders have been treating them badly and telling them lies. As I speak to you, the firing is still going on, and there is confusion everywhere.”
This is not the first time soldiers are revolting against their superiors. In May 2014, angry soldiers at the newly formed 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri revolted against their boss, Major General Abubakar Mohammed, shooting sporadically.

Expert who has interviewed billionaires reveal their secret to their success and they're very simple

Vikas Shah, a Professor of Entrepreneurship has interviewed the likes of Sir Richard Branson, Sir James Dyson, and Steve Ballmer and here he reveals their simple secrets. Their secret formula is captured in these ten points and unsurprisingly, passion is a vital ingredient. These people set out to pursue something they love doing and make a change without intending to make crazy money in the first place.

1. Find your passion: The vast majority of people who have made their billions didn’t intend to make that money; they found something they were unbelievably passionate about, and made it their life. It just so happened their timing was perfect, and it became a huge wealth generator – but that passion was the starting point.
2. Be resilient: The overwhelming majority of billionaires I’ve met advise me that you have be resilient. You have to be able to get back up after the knocks, you have to be prepared to fail and to embrace that, and you have to be prepared to operate outside the comfort zone of your normal life.
3. Don’t chase wealth: Without exception, every single billionaire I’ve met has told me that starting a business for them was never about the money – it was about making a big change in the world, whether that’s revolutionising technology, solving a problem, improving lives, or creating something. That was the driver.

Yahoo says 1 billion user accounts stolen in what could be biggest hack ever

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer
More than 1 billion Yahoo user accounts — including phone numbers, birthdates, and security questions — may have been stolen by hackers during an attack that took place in August 2013, the company revealed on Wednesday.
The announcement of what could represent the largest hack of all time is a separate incident than the one Yahoo disclosed back in September. In that hack, Yahoo said that at least 500 million user accounts were compromised.
"The company has not been able to identify the intrusion associated with this theft," Yahoo said on Wednesday about the new incident.
News of the breach sent Yahoo shares sliding about 2.5% in after-hours trading on Wednesday.
The revelation of the hack could have implications for the $4.8 billion sale of Yahoo to Verizon, which has yet to close. Yahoo disclosed the previous hack to Verizon only after agreeing to the deal, and Verizon has since said that it considers the hack a material event that could affect the terms and price of the acquisition.
"As we’ve said all along, we will evaluate the situation as Yahoo continues its investigation," Verizon told CNBC on Wednesday, regarding the latest hack.

The presiding Judge, Justice O. A robbery charge was also brought against them, however, that was dismissed based on insufficient evidence. The sentences will run concurrently

How Obama warned Putin face-to-face to stop hacking the election - but is now under fire for botching response from intelligence experts

President Obama is under fire for failing to execute a stronger response to a hack on the U.S. elections that government agencies believe was directed by the Russian government
A detailed reconstruction of Russian-directed hacking during the U.S. elections has revealed how the White House rejected robust responses that might have gotten Moscow's attention, along with a series of party missteps that allowed the intrusion to proliferate unabated.
The White House did not hold the first Situation Room meetings about the hack until July, the New York Times revealed in a detailed report on how the hack unfolded. That was several months after the initial intrusion into the computers of the Democratic National Committee, which is believed to have occurred in April.
Ultimately, that hack would result in the release of thousands of embarrassing documents in the midst of a heated political campaign – and forcing the resignation of the DNC chair on the eve of the Democratic National Convention.
As the scope and origins of the cyber attack became more clear, the White House considered, but rejected the most robust responses that would have sent a strong signal to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

'Possible' counterstrikes that were 'reportedly included,' according to the paper, were going after Putin, a former KGB agent, to expose his financial links to wealthy oligarchs, and punching holes in the Russian internet to let dissidents spread their views.
'Pentagon officials judged the measures too unsubtle and ordered up their own set of options,' according to the paper. None of those ideas were 'formally presented' to President Obama.
Top security officials who met in the White House about the intrusion that roiled Hillary Clinton's campaign feared an overreaction by the U.S. might actually help Putin.
'If we went to Defcon 4,' said one government official, using the nuclear warning code, 'we would be saying to the public that we didn't have confidence in the integrity of our voting system.'
The White House wouldn't say Wednesday if it had taken action since.
'I'm not in a position to confirm whether or not that response has been initiated or not,' press secretary Josh Earnest said. 'I'm also not in a position to confirm that we won't ever in the future discuss what that response is or what that response may be.

It seems there’s much more to Kanye West’s NYC visit than meetings about his fashion line — and showing off that blond hair. The rapper paid a visit to Trump Tower on Tuesday to get together with President-elect Donald Trump.
The “Famous” singer, who has expressed his own presidential ambitions, strode into the midtown Manhattan skyscraper, with an entourage, early in the morning. Kanye, who was without wife Kim Kardashian, walked by reporters on the way to Trump’s personal elevator, uttering only a “hey.”

Summary executions and forced conscription: Aleppo cease-fire deal reached amid 'complete meltdown of humanity'

syria
Pro-government forces in Syria are on the brink of fully recapturing the city of Aleppo from opposition forces, after a month of intense bombing accompanied by a ferocious ground offensive that has forced rebels and civilians into hiding.
Talks between Russia — an ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad — and members of the opposition, aimed at establishing a cease-fire and evacuating civilians from the city, are being mediated by Turkish officials in Ankara.
The rebels announced late Tuesday morning Eastern Time that they had reached a cease-fire deal with Russia to evacuate some opposition forces and civilians from the city.
About 40,000 people will be allowed to leave, a source within the opposition with knowledge of the talks told Business Insider, though rebels are still pressing for more to be evacuated.
A Turkish official tweeted that the "opposition's armed groups also can leave Aleppo, following the civilian population." The official added: "They may go to Idlib, according to the agreement."
It is unclear whether the regime has agreed to the terms of the cease-fire, which had not yet been formally announced.

Hypersonic passenger plane can fly from London to New York in less than two hours through SPACE

Future generations of air travellers could one day fly from London to New York in less than two hours instead of six if this stunning passenger plane is ever built.
Long-distance flights on the concept supersonic/hypersonic aircraft, called Paradoxal, would be a life-changing experience, as they would include a trip through sub-orbital space at a speed of Mach 3.
Flight times between distant parts of the globe would be slashed to just a few hours and passengers would be able to take in the stars and sights below like never before.
The aircraft would be so fast that it would be able to fly from Los Angeles to Sydney - a flight that currently takes an agonising 15 hours - in less than three hours.

Protests Erupt in Colombia Following Savage Rape and Murder of 7-Year-Old Girl

Protests have sparked after the brutal rape and murder of a 7-year-old indigenous, Colombian girl who was found dead in an apartment earlier this month in one of the country’s affluent neighborhoods.
Yuliana Andrea Samboni was reportedly kidnapped December 4 while playing with her brothers in the poor neighborhood of Bosque Calderon Tejada. A man driving an SUV snatched the girl in a moment captured on surveillance video.
The suspect, Rafael Uribe, a 38-year-old architect, has been charged with aggravated femicide, kidnapping, torture and “violent sexual intercourse."
Authorities say Uribe allegedly took Yuliana to his family's luxurious apartment, where he sexually abused and tortured the girl before strangling her. Her body was found under a hot tub on the terrace of the apartment, according to reports.
Uribe and one other person tried to cover up the heinous crime, reports said. Uribe was later arrested in the hospital where his brother reportedly checked him in for a "drug overdose."
Since the murder, protests have been held across the country out of fear that Uribe, who is reportedly a known socialite, will use his influence to avoid accountability.

Investigations: See the thin pillars used to build the Akwa Ibom state church that collapsed last Saturday

These are photos of the Reigners Bible Church Akwa Ibom state when it was under construction.
According to some engineers, the structural integrity of the building is flawed. The pillars are thin and so could not carry the iron roofs placed on them. See more photos after the cut.

'We're drawing very different conclusions': The FBI and the CIA can't agree on the motives of Russian hacks

The CIA and the FBI seemingly can't agree over why Russian hackers targeted the inboxes of prominent Democrats and Democratic organizations in 2016.
In a secret assessment — the content of which has been leaked to the press via high-level officials briefed on the intelligence — the CIA revealed that the Russians were working toward a specific goal: "to help get Trump elected."
The assessment said Russia was not just trying to undermine confidence in the US election process when they hacked into the emails of Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman, John Podesta, and the Democratic National Committee.
"It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected" a senior US official briefed on the CIA report told The Washington Post. "That's the consensus view."

Bomb blast kills dozens at Cairo Coptic church

A bombing at Cairo’s largest Coptic cathedral killed at least 25 people and wounded 49, many of them women and children attending Sunday mass, in the deadliest attack on Egypt’s Christian minority in years.
The attack comes as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi fights battles on several fronts. His economic reforms have angered the poor, a bloody crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood has seen thousands jailed, whilst an insurgency rages in Northern Sinai, led by the Egyptian branch of Islamic State.
The militant group has also carried out deadly attacks in Cairo and has urged its supporters to launch attacks around the world in recent weeks as it goes on the defensive in its Iraqi and Syrian strongholds.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but exiled Brotherhood officials and home-grown militant groups condemned the attack

Anthony Joshua beats Eric Molina to retain IBF heavyweight title

Anthony Joshua emerged victorious in the fight against Eric Molina after only three rounds, with Anthony dominating the fight in all the rounds.

All through the fight Eric was mostly on the defensive and rarely succeeded in throwing a punch, making the fight look like a mismatch.

It ended halfway into the third round with Anthony knocking Molina to the canvas with several punches. The referee stepped in then to end the fight.

Moments after the win, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, brought Wladimir Klitschko into the ring to announce that he will be fighting Anthony Joshua on April 29th at Wembley Stadium.  It is believed that this fight will be the toughest so far for the Nigerian born British boxer, considering Klitschko’s numerous years in the ring.

Klitschko’s defeat to Tyson Fury at the end of last year came as a surprise to most, including to Klitschko. No doubt this fight with Joshua will be seen by Klitschko as a way to redeem himself and this makes the fight all the more intriguing. Joshua on his part seems confident about the fight and he expressed this in his speech to his audience;
“Klitschko wants his belts back, may the best man win. I focus on myself, that's how I beat Wladimir Klitschko.

Photos show Aleppo before and after war

aleppo

It has been reported on Monday that the battle for Aleppo was nearing its end after over five years of bloody civil war.
Sky News cited the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, saying the rebels had retreated from the remaining six neighbourhoods, clearing the way for a government reclamation of the city.
Forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and backed by Russian air support have been making steady gains in the city for several months, slowly pushing from the west into the opposition-held east.
Since the war broke out five years ago, 250,000 people have been trapped in the besieged city, thousands more have died, there are no more working hospitals, and airstrikes have left ancient mosques and homes under blankets of dust and rubble.
The city is a shell of its former self.
Looking at photos of the city before and after the war serves as a sobering reminder of the catastrophic consequences of the conflict.

Japan's sex problem is so bad that people are quitting dating and marrying their friends

japan robot wedding
The Japanese sex problem has become so desperate that its young population has given up on dating and is just marrying friends.
A government survey found 69% of Japanese men and 59% of Japanese women do not have a romantic partner.
One Japanese aggregator website has since been awash with stories of how people have simply married lifelong friends.
The country has one of the lowest birth rates in the world, with just 8.4 children being born per 1,000 inhabitants over the past five years.
Its population of 127 million people is predicted to decrease to 87 million by 2060.
The survey, carried out by the country's National Institute of Population and Social Security Research, also reported that about 80% of unmarried Japanese want to get married.
In recent weeks, people have posted stories to the aggregator website Matome Naver, telling how in one case a colleague married a friend of 10 years.

Life inside North Korea - the secret pictures Kim Jong-un doesn't want you to see

Eating grass, sleeping on the floor and lights out at 9pm doesn't sound like much fun, but these are the ingredients that make up an Airbnb - North Korean style.
These eye-opening images of life inside the country were snapped by a photographer who ventured to the notoriously secretive nation for a unique project.
And the images have been termed so damning by the totalitarian dictatorship that Eric Lafforgue has since been BANNED from returning there.
The 52-year-old first visited the country in 2008 and has since been there five times, and was thrilled to be able to return as a guest at a "sort of North Korean Airbnb", as he describes it.
As a guest of a fisherman in the village of Jung Pyong Ri, in Myongchon county, situated in the North Hamgyong province, Lafforgue points out that the remote village with white sandy beaches "doesn't exist on any map".
