White House: Donald Trump Muslim plan 'disqualifies' him from presidency

Donald Trump: Comments won't 'impact' Dubai golf course
Donald Trump's statement that Muslims should be banned from entering the United States "disqualifies" him from being president, the White House spokesman said Tuesday.
"The fact is what Donald Trump said yesterday disqualifies him from serving as president," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said in Tuesday's press briefing. For a White House administration to so heavily weigh in on an opposing party's nominating contest is a highly unusual step.
Earnest noted first that every president must take an oath to "preserve, protect and defend" the U.S. Constitution, and thus, he said, Trump would not qualify.

What you should know about this 'new' STD

As if there's not enough bad STD news to worry about already—a recent study suggests there's a new sexually transmitted infection in town. Introducing: mycoplasma genitalium, or MG.
Though experts have known of MG's existence since the '80s, the new paper published in the International Journal of Epidemiology reveals that the bacterial infection, which resides in the urinary and genital tracts, likely spreads through sexual contact.
To reach their findings, researchers at University College London, examined urine samples of 4,507 men and women between 18 and 44 years old who were sexually active with at least one partner. Of these participants, 48 women and 24 men were diagnosed with MG. However, when the researchers tested urine samples from about 200 teenagers who had never had sex, zero tested positive for the infection.
We spoke with Raquel Dardik, MD, a clinical associate professor at NYU Langone's Joan H. Tisch Center for Women's Health, to get the facts on the "new" STD.

The secret creator of bitcoin has been unmasked — again

Bitcoin (virtual currency) coins are seen in an illustration picture taken at La Maison du Bitcoin in Paris, France, May 27, 2015. REUTERS/Benoit Tessier
The creator of bitcoin may be an Australian finance geek named Craig Steven Wright, according to a new report by Wired's Andy Greenberg.
Or it could be Wright and his close friend Dave Kleinman, who died two years ago, according toGizmodo.
Or Wright could be a man who really wants to take credit for it.
In 2009, someone — or some people — named Satoshi Nakamoto invented bitcoin, a type of digital currency that uses cryptography to move money and records it in a ledger without the need of a bank. The cryptocurrency was once an obsession among finance geeks, but emerged into more of a mainstream economic obsession. A bitcoin startup even sponsored the Bitcoin Bowl, a college-football bowl game, last year.

The US is building a new advanced missile defense system — and Iran could be one reason why

Iran missile
Iran just launched a ballistic missile in apparent violation of multiple United Nations Security Council resolutions.
On Tuesday, Reuters reportedthat Iran "tested a liquid-fueled missile ... capable of carrying a nuclear warhead" last month, citing two anonymous US officials.
The test would mark Iran's second illicit ballistic-missile launch since the landmark nuclear deal, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was reached between Iran and a US-led group of six countries earlier this year.
Iran also tested a long-range, nuclear-capable Emad-class missile in October.
The July nuclear deal is aimed at implementing a number of non-binding controls on Iran's ability to stockpile fissile materials for a nuclear weapon over the next 15 years, in exchange for the lifting of most US and EU and all UN sanctions on the country.

Moscow has chosen to retaliate for the incident asymmetrically, hitting Turkish economic and military interests instead of engaging in a direct conflict with Ankara that might lead to a military confrontation with NATO.
But the Russians appear to have "gone ballistic" in their determination to wipe out Turkish influence in northern Syria and help regime forces reach Aleppo, a UN official told McClatchy on Monday.
