Still with us: The hauntingly beautiful image of Lake with his family
A mother was left heartbroken when her young son died just months before her wedding day.
But Anna Bozman Thompson made sure son Lake was a part of her big day.
The youngster lost his battle with leukaemia in May, just weeks before his ninth birthday, the Daily News reported .
When Thompson tied the knot last month, she enlisted the help of friend andphotographer Brandy Angel to pay a special tribute to her little boy.
  • Angel created special edits of the couple's wedding pictures to include a faint vision of Lake, so he appears almost ghostlike happily posing with the family.

A state-owned manufacturer on Monday unveiled the first plane produced by a Chinese initiative to compete in the market for large passenger jetliners.

"It's a major push for the country, as they want to be known as a major player" in airplane manufacturing, said Mavis Toh, Asia air transport editor for Flightglobal magazine.

Top Metrojet official says 'only possible explanation' of Russian aircraft crash 'could be an external impact on the airplane'

Russian Russia Egypt Airplane Crash Debris Sinai Helicopter
ST. PETERSBURG, Russia — Only an external impact could have caused the crash of a Russian plane in Egypt that killed all 224 people on board, a top airline official said Monday, raising more questions about what exactly happened.
"We rule out a technical fault of the plane or a pilot error," said Alexander Smirnov, deputy general director of Metrojet. "The only possible explanation could be an external impact on the airplane."
But when pressed for more details about what type of impact and what could have caused it, Smirnov insisted that he was not at liberty to discuss details because the investigation was ongoing.

The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. just as the group was walking down a quiet street in the Morris Park section of the Bronx.

Son charged in parents' killing was to be cut off from their will

The month before his parents disappeared, police say Kyle Navin wrote that he had the "perfect plan" to get "$ for life.". Then, a few days before they vanished, Navin's mother confided in a friend that she and her husband planned to cut him out of their will.

Now, the adult son of a trash hauling businessman and a school library aide faces allegations he killed his parents and dumped their bodies in the yard of a vacant home in a well-to-do Connecticut town.

State police said Navin, of Bridgeport, faces two counts of murder and murder with special circumstances in the deaths of his parents, who had been missing since August 4. His girlfriend has also been charged with conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution.
The bodies of Jeffrey and Jeanette Navin, of Easton, were found Thursday outside a vacant home in neighboring Weston.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit for Navin's girlfriend, Jennifer Valiante, police say Jeanette Navin had been distraught over the situation with her son in the days before she and her husband disappeared.

Tearful Michigan woman, 97, gets high school diploma

margaret bekema.jpg

A 97-year-old Michigan woman achieved a lifelong goal last week as she received a high school diploma -- eight decades after family responsibilities forced her to drop out and abandon her education.
Margaret Bekema, 97, got all choked up when she was presented with a school letter and a diploma honoring her as an official Catholic Central High School alumna, class of 1936, Fox 17 reported Friday.
“How can I express myself?” Bekema said through the tears. “I don’t know how to express my thanks.”
As she became more emotional, she said: “I’m sorry. I’m just plain chicken.”

What’s Wrong with Season 2 of Empire?

Taraji P. HensonNot so long ago, American Idol was FOX’s rating’s giant but things changed and the show was eventually cancelled. It had been a while since they had anything that drew in that kind of audience until Empire premiered last season.
With great writing, an all-star cast (including Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson) and a steady stream of great guests (Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Courtney Love, etc.), it was easy to see how they were pulling in the big numbers. It was no surprise that the season 2′s debut was massive – it attracted 16.2 million viewers which was a dramatic 81% increase over the pilot episode.

Game of Thrones Spoilers, Delayed Premiere Date

As the title of this article suggests, there are some spoilers ahead so, if you don’t want to know anything about the upcoming season of Game of Thrones, look away now.
If you are a regular viewer, you will know that the last season ended with some questions. Of course, the biggest surrounds Jon Snow and whether he is dead or alive but people were also wondering if Brienne of Toth actually went through with killing Stannis Baratheon. According to HBO, the answer is yes.
Once a character with great promise, the brother of Renly and King Robert, did actually die by the blade of Brienne’s sword which, if I’ll admit, is a bit disappointing. Considering the fact that he was leaning against a tree, mortally wounded and utterly resigned, it hardly feels honorable to kill a man in that position but what do I know?

ds
What happens when you cross a porn star convention with Halloween ?
The trashiest party ever.
American adult stars came together for the wild Las Vegas bash and would have perhaps done better not wearing any clothes at all.
The girls - whose day job is to take OFF their clothes - managed to just about cover up the important bits in possibly the skimpiest costumes ever made.
Forever ruining our favourite fairy tale characters, the porn stars also had some appallingly shocking ideas when it came to everyone's favourite nurse costume.

Germany is about to start up a monster machine that could revolutionize the way we use energy

Screen Shot 2015 10 29 at 3.48.38 PM
For more than 60 years, scientists have dreamed of a clean, inexhaustible energy source in the form of nuclear fusion.
And they're still dreaming.
But thanks to the efforts of the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, experts hope that might soon change.
Last year, after 1.1 million construction hours, the institute completed the world's largest nuclear-fusion machine of its kind, called a stellarator.
The machine, which has a diameter of 52 feet, is called the W7-X.
And after more than a year of tests, engineers are finally ready to fire up the $1.1 billion machine for the first time. It could happen before the end of this month,Science reported.

3 Halloween Horrors I’d Avoid: Anglo American plc, WM Morrison Supermarkets PLC And Tullow Oil PLC

halloween

Today I am looking at three market monsters investors should avoid during spooky season.

Anglo American

Another week, another round of bad news for diversified mining colossus Anglo American (LSE: AAL). Iron ore — a market from which the business generates 27% of total earnings — slumped to three-month troughs under $50 per tonne as fears over Chinese steelmaking activity, combined with rampant production rises the world over, kept prices on a southerly bent.
The mining industry remains content to keep on supplying the market with unwanted material despite falling prices, and Anglo American itself hiked output at its Minas-Rio asset by 60% in July-September from the previous quarter, to 2.9 million tonnes. And metallurgical coal output, another one of the company’s crucial yet battered markets, advanced 8% quarter-on-quarter to 5.5 million tonnes.
Anglo American is embarking on a frantic strategy of cost-cutting, spending scalebacks and asset sales to shore up the balance sheet as resources prices struggle. But these measures are clearly no march for a backcloth of collapsing revenues, a view that is shared by the City — indeed, Anglo American is expected to suffer a colossal 49% earnings drop in 2015 alone. Even though this results in a low P/E ratio of 10.9 times, I believe Anglo American remains a highly-unappealing stock choice as commodity markets deteriorate.
