We all remember MTV’s hit show “Yo Momma” where Samuel and Wilmer use to go around and find the champion of towns with the Yo Momma jokes! The show was a hit! Sadly, Samuel Sarong Jr, one of the host has committed suicide.
At 40 years old, Sarpong committed suicide by jumping off a bridge in Pasadena, California. On behalf of Sarpong’s family, they had a representative release this statement,
“It is with great sadness that the family of Samuel Sarpong, Jr. must share the news that Sam has passed away. The family appreciates the thoughts prayers and other expressions of sympathy, and request their privacy be respected at this extremely difficult time.”
Authorities in Pasadena say they responded to calls about a man on a bridge attempting to jump off. Upon arrival they found Sarpong till contemplating. They were able to reach out to his family who all came down to try to talk him out of this. After spending hours trying to get him to change his mind, he finally decided to go for it. This is so sad! Police statements says that they were at the bridge for approximately seven hours before Sarpong jumped. He was pronounced dead by 3:52 PM. Sam was suppose to make an appearance on FX’s “American Crime Story” sometime next year. He appeared on “Bones” this year. He was also known as the face of Tommy Hilfiger for about six years.
Many expressed their condolences via social network including Sapong’s co-host, Wilmer Valderrama.
