Y!Naija is the youth centric publication where Chude Jideonwo & Adebola Williams run the show. They had a masked ball recently at the Landmark Village, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos. We were not there, but we heard it went very well. Our only observation majorly, was that the invitation card specified black as the preferred colour of the day and by extension, black-tie. 

From the pictures, it's so obvious that Nigerian's deliberately don't follow dress codes. So you all most likely to see the good, the bad and definitely the ugly. There was even the wardrobe malfunction by one of the guests, who should have known better to sit properly.

Nkiru Sylvanus And Kenneth Okolie Regain Freedom.

Kidnapped Actress Nkiru Sylvanus and former Mr. Nigeria Kenneth Okolie have been freed by their kidnappers. They were released less than an hour ago in Owerri.
The kidnappers tied their eyes and dropped them off at an unknown location where they were able to call friends to pick them up.
No details yet if they paid the ransom which the kidnappers demanded .

Thank God they weren’t hurt.

LIL WAYNE REPORTEDLY INVOLVED IN BRAWL AT POWER 106′S ‘CALI CHRISTMAS’ CONCERT

Lil Wayne reportedly was involved in a major brawl after performing at Power 106′s ‘Cali Christmas Show’ last Friday (Dec. 14) in Los Angeles. According to Hollyscoop, Weezy got into a fight with an unidentified person backstage at the concert for some unknown reason.

Hollyscoop’s reporting is a little shaky with the facts. The website states that Wayne arrived at the venue to “perform a verse on Kendrick Lamar‘s song ‘No Worries.’” Of course, every rap fan knows that ‘No Worries’ is actually Weezy’s song and not a Lamar track.

Nevertheless, an eyewitness tells the website that “Punches were thrown but no arrests were made. It was a serious fight and was witnessed by everyone who was backstage.” Are we to assume that no one had a camera phone on their persons and couldn’t record this alleged melee? C’mon now, we’re living in the YouTube age.

No word on what Wayne was fighting about since, apparently, there was no police presence at the venue and no arrests were made. Although Hollyscoop managed to jot down four asinine reasons on what Wayne’s fight might have been about. Really?

Imagine opening your son's wardrobe and discovering 7 baby snakes; the 2nd most poisonous in the world?
This is what happened to Donna Sim who recently discovered a box of full of recently hatched eastern brown snakes – the world’s second deadliest species.
Kyle Cumming had found the snake eggs in his garden in Townsville in Queensland, Australia and was given a takeaway container to put them in.


Several weeks later his mother Donna Sim was shocked when she opened the bedroom wardrobe to discover the box full of recently hatched eastern brown snakes – the world’s second deadliest species.
Wildlife carers said Kyle was very fortunate as his mother discovered the eastern brown snake babies before he took them out to play or before the hatchlings had grown strong enough to push open the lid by themselves.
Ms Sim said she had given Kyle the takeaway container when he found the eggs but had not thought more of it until she found the snakes in her son’s bedroom.
‘I was pretty shocked, particularly because I don't like snakes,’ she said.
The family took the snakes to a local sanctuary where they were released back into the wild.
The eastern brown snake is widely considered the second most venomous snake in the world, behind the inland taipan.
They are common in Australia and are responsible for a majority of lethal snake bites recorded in the country.

Woman Returns Stolen Kids

A middle-aged woman, Eloho Igwe who allegedly stole two young children last week in Benin City, has surrendered herself to the police.

The stolen children have also been reunited with their families.

The two kids, Faith Omoruyi, 5 and Gold Peter, 4, were allegedly abducted at Useh Market and Useh Secondary School by Eloho who took them to the Mechanic village in Warri, Delta State for unknown reasons.

Eloho told journalists that she took the children with the assistance of one Efe Ogaga, but that she had to return the children to their parents and. surrender herself to the police due to pressure mounted on her by her family members and neighbours.

Confirming the report, Edo Police Command spokesman, DSP Tony Airhuoyo, said the suspect would soon be charged to court.

In another development, an Ikpoba-Okha Magistrate Court in Benin, has sentenced four persons to three years imprisonment each with hard labour for illegal sales of landed property belonging to a community.

The four convicted persons, David Aifesehi, Matthew Oviasogie, Friday Itota and Prince Austine Ehue, said to be subordinates of the late traditional ruler of the community, Prince David Ehue, were charged on a 22-count charge of false possession and illegal sale of land belonging to Evbo-Uzama Community. The offence is punishable under Section 419 of the Criminal Code, Cap. 48, Vol.II,  Laws of Bendel State of Nigeria, 1976 applicable to Edo State.

Delivering judgment, presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Igho Braimoh, found the accused persons guilty and sentenced them accordingly

I narrowly missed crashed helicopter –Gowon

Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon

Former  Head of State  Gen. Yakubu Gowon said on Wednesday in Kafanchan, Kaduna State he narrowly missed the helicopter that crashed killing Kaduna State Governor Patrick Yakowa and ex-National Security Adviser Andrew Azazi in Bayelsa State on Saturday.

Four others also died in the crash.

Gowon said this during a Special Service Session to mark the 50th birthday   of Apostle Emmanuel Kure of Throney in Broom Ministry, Kafanchan.

He said, “As we were with the aide  to the President to pay our condolences, they were arranging  a Navy helicopter to take us to Yenogoa (with Yakowa). But, another helicopter was arranged for me and five others. And that was it.

“So when I heard about this accident, it really pained me. And I want to say, well, you can never tell with some of these things. It was an accident. Don’t impugn any meaning to it. Don’t say that it  was planned to get rid of some people or something like that.

“It was an accident, yes. There was this young pilot of the helicopter, who came to me after another helicopter was found for us, and he said to me, ‘Sir, but I was all ready to take you to Yenagoa as part of my duty today’. And I said to him, ‘don’t worry, there will be another time. I really hope I will have the pleasure of flying with you again’.

“These were nice innocent people. Something, probably mechanical, went wrong to have caused the accident. So it was not a plan to get rid of the governor for whatever any reason people want to guess.

“When, on Sunday, I saw the  governor (Mukhtar Yero), I said, ‘I hope you will continue with the good work that your late governor was doing. It was the two of you that were doing the work. You were working to bring peace to Kaduna State.  I hope you will do something about this madness alluded to Boko Haram,  which, unfortunately is being alluded to Muslims’.”

Also speaking on the occasion, Plateau State Governor Jonah Jang said Yakowa lived for the service of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Fadan  Kagoma village, in Jema’a Local Government Council, birthplace of  the late Yakowa, is to receive his remains today (Thursday). Fadan Kagoma is about 230km away from Kaduna city.

At the Yakowa country home, workers were seen putting finishing touches to the grave   he will be buried.

One of the leaders in the village, who would not want his names in print, said,“Our village is going to witness the greatest gathering it has ever seen, but for a sad reason. We are expecting the President to land in this village by helicopter tomorrow (today).”

Fire Outbreak at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos

An electrical fire has broken out at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos. An eyewitness said the fire emanated from some cables, which apparently melted under heat.

This led to a blackout in the airport terminal while fire fighters deployed swiftly in the affected area to quench the inferno.

The fire fighters are currently working round to put the situation under control while securitymen have erected a metal barricade around the site.

The extent of damage has yet to be ascertained.

Patrick Obahiagbon Reacts To Jubilation Of Some Muslims Over Yakowa's Death

                                                
Popular lexicologist and politician Pat Obahiagbon known for taking to social networking mediums to discuss  political issues using heavy diction is at it again.
The latest is his reaction to the jubilation of some Muslims over the death of Kaduna State's former Governor Yakowa. He said:

"Whilst I feel tongue tied that we are witnessing another 'air mishap' that has taken the lives of fellow Nigerians, I am utterly shocked to hear of the jubilation in certain Northern political quarters and muslim youths in Kaduna State. Just too too cruddy and it is beyond the fugacious razzmatazz of the moment.
"I seriously call attention to the rutilanting and coruscating modus vivendi of Master Jesus the Christ and I dare pontificate that save and until we viscerally emblematize the virtues of self-immolation, quintessential abnegation, eulogizeable simplicity, humility and immerse ourselves in a platonic emotionalism of agape love and communalistic service and head to unity as one nation."
