BREAKING NEWS: Nancy Reagan has died at 94

Nancy Reagan has died at the age of 94
Nancy Reagan has died at the age of 94.
The former First Lady, wife of President Ronald Reagan, passed away in Bel Air on Sunday after suffering congestive heart failure.
Starting as an actress in the 1940s and 1950s, she married Ronald Reagan - then president of the Screen Actors Guild - in 1952.
Mrs Reagan was an influential First Lady during her husband's presidency from 1981 to 1989.
Notably she spearheaded the 'Just Say No' to campaign against drugs, speaking at schools and appearing on TV shows such as Dynasty and Diff'rent Strokes to promote the cause.

'Drugs take away the dream from every child’s heart and replace it with a nightmare, and it’s time we in America stand up and replace those dreams,' she said in a speech which led to 12,000 Just Say No clubs being set up across the country and a Just Say No Week implemented by Congress.
Her efforts are credited with driving cocaine use down to a 10-year low.
Ronald Reagan died on June 5, 2004, after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's disease.
In recent years, Nancy struggled with her health after falling at home and breaking three ribs in 2012, not long after breaking her pelvis at home in 2008.
Despite her own health setbacks, however, Mrs Reagan remained active in politics, particularly in relation to stem-cell research.

15 ways to stay focused all day, according to scientists

america free throws
What was I doing again?
We've all had days where we can't seem to focus, asking that question too many times to count. For some of us, those days are more common than we'd like.
Whether it's fatigue, distractions, lack of motivation, or something else entirely, our inability to focus digs a hole in our productivity and, therefore, can jeopardize our chances of success.
But you don't have to go to extremes, like the main character in "The Wolf of Wall Street" does, to get focused. There are better ways.
Here are 15 tips that scientists have found that enhance focus.

Minimize multitasking.

Minimize multitasking.

Multitaskers might seem superhuman, but they pay a big price, according to a 2009 Stanford study. In a sample of 100 Stanford students, about half identified themselves as media multitaskers. The other half did not.
The test examined attention spans, memory capacity, and ability to switch from one task to the next — and the multitaskers performed more poorly on each test.
"They're suckers for irrelevancy. Everything distracts them," Clifford Nass, who was a researcher for the study, said in a Stanford press release.

Man accidentally kills himself while taking a selfie with a gun

Selfies are usually harmless, but occasionally, they can be deadly. That was the case for one Washington man who decided to snap a photo of himself with a firearm in hand.

Police in Concrete, Washington, have ruled the man's death an accident after he shot and killed himself while attempting to pose for a selfie. The man's girlfriend told investigators that the couple had snapped several photos with the weapon throughout the day but that a bullet had accidentally been left in it during the incident.

As strange as this tragedy may seem, it's just one of several selfie-related deaths and injuries reported so far in 2016. The causes range from Bison attacks to drowning, but all of the incidents occurred while the victims were trying to capture a particularly striking self-portrait.

It's also not the first gun death to involve a selfie. In 2013, a teenage girl in Arizona accidentally killed her brother while the two posed for photos that they planned to post on Facebook

Take a Deep Dive in This Two-Passenger Personal Sub

Billed by its Florida-based manufacturer as the world’s deepest-diving submersible with a transparent acrylic hull, the Triton Submarines Triton 6600/2 (tritonsubs.com) is designed to take its pilot and passenger 6,600 feet below the surface of the ocean. The passenger compartment remains at surface pressure regardless of the depth of the dive.

The orb-shaped hull enclosing the compartment provides an unobstructed view of the surroundings, and six standard-equipment 20,000-lumen lights illuminate the view. The sub travels at 3 knots, so it takes about an hour to reach its maximum depth, but the lithium-battery bank powering the propulsion system is good for a 10-hour dive. The sub’s starting price is $5.5 million.

$100 Million Beverly Hills Home on Billionaire’s Row Hits the Market [EXCLUSIVE]

Designer and developer Michael Palumbo has created a profusion of jaw-dropping residences, but he says his latest project—a $100 million estate that will be built in Beverly Hills, Calif.—is his greatest work yet. “I’ve been doing this for 33 years and this is probably the biggest labor of love and the best project I’ve been involved with,” says Palumbo. “It’s the pinnacle of my career.”

Inspired by a floating estate in Singapore, Palumbo envisioned a compound-style home that revolves around water. Under his guidance, plans for the grandiose residence were designed by award-winning architects Shubin + Donaldson. Blueprints for the 24,500-square-foot estate feature seven bedrooms (including a 3,100-square-foot master suite with private access to a rooftop garden); 14 bathrooms; a great room with a hidden bar; and an 18-seat dining room—all wreathed in eye-catching water features.

Bobby Brown outraged over release of daughter's autopsy report

Bobby Brown released a statement yesterday after news outlets sued to have his daughter Bobbi Kristina's autopsy report unsealed and a judge granted that wish, revealing that his daughter died from a combination of drugs, drinking and drowning, same way Whitney Houston died..
“First and foremost, 23 years ago today, Bobbi Kristina was born. Krissy will always live in my heart and soul. I love my baby girl. For news affiliates to seek and obtain my daughter’s autopsy report, before anyone has been brought to justice for her death is mind blowing to me. Please pray for my family.” Bobby Brown said...

I haven't failed against Boko Haram- Buhari

In a fresh interview with Al Jazeerah, President Buhari says he has not failed in his war against Boko Haram despite some recorded incidents of attacks by the sect members in some parts of Nigeria
“I have not failed. When we came in Boko Haram was effectively in 14 local governments. Nigeria has 774 local governments. They hoist their flags and they said they had a certain caliphate but today they no longer to hold any local government.
They have reverted to improvised explosive devices blowing soft targets, and that will be a kind of terrorism which will be difficult to eliminate because it is technological, but they cannot hold any local government again. They are using technology but they cannot carry out organised attacks, overrun police post, attack military installations, they cannot do that now.”he said

MANASSEH’S FOLDER: The bitter truth Abraham Attah must hear!

Abraham Attah in the studio of Joy FM for an interview.

Abraham Attah in the studio of Joy FM for an interview.

Dear Abraham Attah,
I bring you warm greetings from Ghana. I don’t know which part of the world you are right now and I cannot imagine which luxurious hotel is housing you at the moment. But I am happy to tell you that, back home, you are the most popular celebrity in Ghana right now. Your name is a household name. President John Dramani Mahama, has described you as a “positive positioning of the Ghana Brand.” And he is very right!
I want to use this opportunity to sincerely congratulate you on your enormous achievement. You first came to my notice when I read a very positive review about you on the internet. That was the first time I heard about the Beasts of No Nation movie. I am not a movie fan, but I was compelled to look for the film when you picked an international award last year. I was curious about what that movie was about and how Abraham Attah fared in it.
The Beasts of No Nation, in my candid view, was overrated. The production and the characters were great but the storyline is very poor. What, however, excited me was the quality you (Abraham Attah) and the other children in the movie exuded. Hearing that Beasts of No Nation is your first movie and the first time you acted convinced me beyond any reasonable doubt that you are very gifted. You will surely go places if you work hard and keep the few pieces of this advice I offer later in this letter. I am proud of you. And so are many Ghanaians.
In Ghana, you are celebrated in homes, offices, markets, classrooms, mainstream and on social media. I have lived in this country for three decades and my experience has taught me that there are two kinds of human beings that one must not say anything uncomplimentary about. They are the dead and people who are being celebrated. Ask Martin A.B.K. Amidu his experience when he took on Anas.
Yesterday, you wrote on instagram, “I know some of the radio presenters in Ghana are saying I gave a bad speech at the Independent Spirit Awards…”

These psychological tricks can help you spend less time online

man on laptop
“22 of the Cutest Baby Animals,” the headline said. “You won’t believe number 11!”
Despite an impending deadline – not to mention my skepticism (how cute could they possibly be?) – I clicked on the story. I’m only human, after all. Yet this failure in self-regulation cost me at least half an hour of good work time – as have other clickbait headlines, bizarre images on my Twitter feed or arguments on Facebook.
The insidious, distracting suck of the Internet has become seemingly inescapable. Calling us from our pockets, lurking behind work documents, it’s merely a click away. Studies have shownthat each day we spend, on average, five and a half hours on digital media, and glance at our phones 221 times.
Meanwhile, the developers of websites and phone apps all exploit human behavioral tendencies, designing their products and sites in ways that attract our gaze – and retain it.Writing for Aeon, Michael Schulson points out:
Developers have staked their futures on methods to cultivate habits in users, in order to win as much of that attention as possible.
Given the Internet’s omnipresence and its various trappings, is it even possible to rein in our growing Internet consumption, which often comes at the expense of work, family or relationships?
Psychological research on persuasion and self-control suggests some possible strategies.

The director of the FBI just admitted that a 'mistake was made' with the San Bernardino shooter's iPhone

AppleCongress

FBI Director James Comey admitted that a "mistake was made" with the San Bernardino investigation during a surprisingly contentious hearing held by the US House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday.
Comey and the FBI are seeking to force Apple to build custom software to access encrypted data on a terrorist's iPhone.
New York Democrat Jerrold Nadler asked Comey about whether the San Bernardino iPhone had its iCloud password changed, preventing the device from backing up to accessible Apple servers. Comey was forced to admit that the password was changed at the FBI's request, and called it a "mistake."
It wasn't the only difficult question that Comey fielded on Monday.

SALMA HAYEK FURIOUS COPS SIDED WITH NEIGHBOR In Dog's Death

0301_salma-hayek_dog_instagram
Salma Hayek was outraged when cops told her they would not take action against the neighbor who shot and killed her dog ...  we learned.
We broke the story ... police in Yelm, Washington closed out their investigation into the death of Salma's beloved 9-year-old dog Mozart, after concluding the dog had trespassed on the neighbor's property and was trying to attack his dogs. The neighbor shot Mozart with a pellet gun to scare him off.
Cops tell us Salma couldn't believe cops were letting her neighbor skate, insisting her dogs NEVER trespassed on the guy's land.
Here's Salma's problem. Her caretaker is the one who walked the dogs everyday, and she fessed up to cops the dogs routinely moseyed onto the neighbor's property and got into it with his dogs.
It's unclear if Salma plans to press the issue, but we do know when cops first met with her after Mozart died, her lawyer was present.
Salma was determined to get to the bottom of Mozart's death ... we're told she had a necropsy performed.
