Gumsu Abacha rants on twitter as her brother is charged with stealing N446bn

A few hours after it was revealed that her brother Mohammed Abacha is facing fresh criminal lawsuit from the Federal Government for unlawfully taking N446.3billion stolen from government’s treasury between 1995 and 1998, his sister, Gumsu Abacha took to Twitter to cuss people out! Tweets below...

Read the report against Mohammed, eldest son of late former military dictator, General Sani Abacha, after the cut...

From Sahara Reporters

The latest lawsuit follows a decision by the Nigerian Supreme Court in January ordering the Nigerian government to file fresh charges against the dictator’s son. Also, the US Government recently froze assets belonging to the late dictator through its kleptocracy initiative.

In the nine-count charge filed by private prosecutor, Daniel Enwelum upon a fiat dated  February 18th, 2014 by Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, the government accused Mohammed of “dishonestly receiving stolen property” and “voluntarily assisting in concealing money.”

This fresh charge substitutes an earlier 121-count filed against Mohammed and Atiku Bagudu — the late ruler’s ally. However, Bagudu was excluded from the fresh charge.

According to a new charge, dated March   24th, 2014, Mohammed hid £141,100,000 $384,353,000 in cash and travellers cheques.
Mohammed, in Count One, is alleged to have dishonestly received between August and December 1995 in Abuja, $36,480,000.00 made up of cash and travellers’ cheques — property of the Federal Government — believed to have been stolen.

In Count Two, he is alleged, between August and December 1995 in Abuja, to have voluntarily assisted in concealing $57,960,000.00 believed to have been stolen from the Federal Government.
In another count, he was accused of receiving $26,913,500.00 believed to have been stolen from the Federal Government, between October and December 1996.

He was also accused, within the same time, of voluntarily assisting in concealing $26,913,500.00 allegedly stolen from the Federal Government. Also in June 1997 in Abuja, he allegedly dishonestly received $10,000,000.00 believed to have been stolen from the Federal Government.

Count Six accused him of dishonestly receiving, between February and December 1997, $87,000,000 and £41,143,000 believed to have been stolen from the Federal Government.

Two other counts accused Mohammed of voluntarily assisting in concealing the amounts mentioned in count six, and dishonestly receiving (between January and August 1998), $167,000,000 and £99,957,000 believed to have been stolen from the Federal Government.

The alleged offences are punishable under sections 317 and 319 of the Penal Code.
Mohammed was to be arraigned on Thursday before Justice Mamman Kolo of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, but the accused was absent in court.

Nevertheless, Enwelum notified the judge of Mohammed’s unwillingness to turn up in court, despite having been served with the charge and with evidence to that effect in a an affidavit sworn to by bailiff of the court

He urged the court to accept the fresh charge and consider the receipt of the charge by the defence lawyer, Abdulllahi Haruna, as an appropriate service.

Haruna defended Mohammed’s absence, saying he was unaware of the new charge and imploring the court to adjourn the case to a further date to so that the accused would be present in court.
Justice Kolo accepted the amended charge, also granting an order discharging Bagudu from the charge.

He adjourned the hearing to 29th April 2014.

Photo: Jilted NURTW member sets ex-lover ablaze

Adesanmoye Kehinde, a senior official of the Nigerian Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Ikotun Lagos branch, has been arrested and dragged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court in Lagos for allegedly setting his lover, Janet, 31, ablaze after she called off their relationship.

Kehinde, 43, who is married with three children, had been dating Delta state born Janet for a while and was planning marry her. Janet however decided to call the affair off because she felt Kehinde was too troublesome. Continue...

According to Janet who testified in court today, Kehinde had threatened to deal with her but she didn't take his threats seriously. He however carried out his threat by setting her ablaze at Ikotun Roundabout while she was on her way to a friend's house. She said unknown to her, Kehinde had trailed her as she left her house on Olaoluwa Street in Abaranje, Ikotun, poured petrol on her and then set her ablaze. She suffered major burns and injuries and is still in a critical condition.

Kehinde was later arrested and charged to court on a two-count charge under Sections 243 and 244 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011. When the charge was read to him today in court, he pleaded not guilty. He was however granted bail by the court but could not meet up with the bail conditions. The case was adjourned to May 15 2015.

Nigeria Under Threat Of Deadly Ebola Virus-FG(Plus Symptoms And Prevention)

The Federal Government on Wednesday admitted that Nigeria was in danger with the rate at which the Ebola virus had been moving eastward towards the country.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, raised the alarm while answering questions from State House correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Chukwu reiterated that the threat being posed by the Ebola virus was real.
He said although Nigeria had not reported any case of the disease, the National Centre for Disease Control would soon produce jingles in various languages to sensitise Nigerians to the threat posed by the virus, which currently has no vaccine and treatment.

The minister warned Nigerians not to wait for three days as customary of malaria fever before seeking medical attention, saying such a period was enough for an infected person to die.

He said,
“Ebola has been moving eastward towards Nigeria as well and we are already facing danger from the Central African Republic, even with what is happening in Congo, people are also migrating to Chad and Cameroon are also in our borders.
“So, Nigeria is in danger but we have recently said that in addition to the leaflets that we are producing for Lassa and other fevers, we will now emphasise Ebola fever.
“As I speak to you, we have already approved four jingles to be produced in various languages for the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control to be aired on radio and television stations and newspaper adverts.
“Then we are working with all groups, just like we are doing for polio. Religious bodies, communities, traditional rulers and the media which is most important in this venture will help us to play your role by educating Nigerians.
“There is no vaccine, so it is not a question of government has not produced vaccines for Ebola or Lassa fever. If there was vaccine, government will certainly buy a stock and keep; and there is no specific treatment.”

The minister explained that while a special type of rat spreads infection for Lassa fever, bats, he said, were responsible for Ebola.

He said one could be infected by eating fruits that had been contaminated with the virus by bats.

Chukwu urged Nigerians to apply personal hygiene.

“We will soon review our adverts for things like anti-malaria because they still say if you have fever, take this for three days, if you don’t improve go and see your doctor. But we are changing all that because now if you wait three days for Ebola, you are dead,” he said.

Signs and symptoms of Ebola virus disease
EVD is a severe acute viral illness often characterized by the sudden onset of fever, intense weakness, muscle pain, headache and sore throat. This is followed by vomiting, diarrhoea, rash, impaired kidney and liver function, and in some cases, both internal and external bleeding. Laboratory findings include low white blood cell and platelet counts and elevated liver enzymes.

The following precautions can help prevent infection and spread of Ebola

  • Avoid traveling to areas of known outbreaks.
  • Wash your hands frequently. As with other infectious diseases, one of the most important preventive measures for Ebola virus and Marburg virus is frequent hand-washing. Use soap and water, or use alcohol-based hand rubs containing at least 60 percent alcohol when soap and water aren't available.
  • Avoid bush meat. In developing countries, wild animals, including nonhuman primates, are sold in local markets. Avoid buying or eating any of these animals.
  • Avoid contact with infected people. In particular, caregivers should avoid contact with the person's body fluids and tissues, including blood, semen, vaginal secretions and saliva. People with Ebola are most contagious in the later stages of the disease.

There you have it people, please be very careful.

Rihanna Takes Her Nudity To Whole New Level, Exposes Full Derriere In Racy Poses For French Magazine(18+ Photos)

We all know how Rihanna loves to get naked and expose her body as seen in her racy instagram snaps and photos.
So it came as no surprise when the 26 year old Bajan star was pictured exposing her derriere in all its glory during a steamy photo shoot on a balcony in West Hollywood yesterday.
Rihanna was posing for a French magazine wearing only a skimpy white, short-cropped top and no bikini bottoms.

The 26-year-old Barbadian beauty arrived on the set wearing a black robe but took it off once she arrived the balcony set.
Then, wearing just that top and no bottoms, Rihanna crouched down on hands and knees and raised her rump high in the air, her feet still clad in white trainers.
Through out the shoot, an assistant-a man-poured water down her back to give her skin a silky sheen as Rihanna waited, poised in her position.
In fact regardless of Riri's exposed behind during the 2 hour or more shoot, it appeared all but one of the crew members tending to her were men.
Its amazing to see their level professionalism with a butt naked woman, posing the way Rihanna did during the shoot. But what will be going on in their minds I'm sure is a different ball game all together...lool.
See more photos from the shoot below:

She's smouldering: The 26-year-old Barbadian beauty was wearing just a short white top with gaping neckline and no bikini bottoms

FG Charges Mohammed Abacha To Court AGAIN For Stealing N446bn

The federal government has filed a new charge against Mohammed, the son of the late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, accusing him of unlawfully receiving about N446.3billion allegedly stolen from government’s coffers between 1995 and 1998.
In the nine-count charge, the federal government accused Mohammed of “dishonestly receiving stolen property” and “voluntarily assisted in concealing money”.
The charge replaced a previous one of 121 counts, in which Mohammed was charged with Atiku Bagudu. The government has now excluded Bagudu from the fresh charge, leaving only Mohammed.

According to the new charge, the stolen money allegedly received by Mohammed, which he was accused of concealing included 141,100,000 and $384,353,000 made up of cash and travellers cheques.
The charge dated February 24, 2014, was filed by a private prosecutor, Daniel Enwelum, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the federal government and is acting upon a fiat dated February 18, 2014 issued to him by the Attorney General of the Federation.
However, Mohammed could not be arraigned yesterday before Justice Mamman Kolo of the Abuja High Court because the scion of the Abacha's family was nowhere to be found.
Enwelum told the court that even when Mohammed had been served with the charge, with evidence to that effect contained in a sworn affidavit by the court’s bailiff, the accused person refused to show up in court for him to be arraigned.
He said the new charge, which now excludes Bagudu, was filed pursuant to Section 181 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CPC) as an amendment to the earlier charge.
Enwelum urged the court to accept the fresh charge and deem the receipt of the charge by the defence lawyer, on behalf of the accused person, as proper service.
He said Mohammed's lawyer, Abdulllahi Haruna, had promised to receive the charge for his client.
Haruna said Mohammed was absent in court because he was not aware of the new charge.
He urged the court to adjourn the case to another date to enable his client attend the trial.
Also, the lawyer to Bagudu, Rickey Tarfa (SAN), urged the court to grant an order discharging his client from the previous charge in view of the prosecution’s decision to exclude him from the new charge.
Enwelum, in reaction to Tarfa’s application, argued that it was unnecessary for the court to make a specific order discharging Bagudu from the charge since the government had already excluded him from the amended charge.
Ruling, Justice Kolo allowed the amended charge.
He also granted an order discharging Bagudu from the charge and adjourned to April 29 for Mohammed’s arraignment.
In count one, Mohammed was alleged to have between August and December 1995, in Abuja, allegedly received $36,480,000 made up of cash and travellers cheques, property of the federal government, believed to have been stolen.
Count two alleged that Mohammed, between August and December 1995, in Abuja, voluntarily assisted in concealing $57,960,000 believed to have been stolen from the federal government.
Count three alleged that he, between October and December 1996, in Abuja, received $26,913,500 believed to have been stolen from the federal government's coffers.
The prosecution alleged in count four that Mohammed, within the same time, voluntarily assisted in concealing $26,913,500 allegedly stolen from the federal government.
Count five alleged that he, sometime in June 1997, in Abuja, received $10,000,000 believed to have been stolen from the federal government.
He was, in count six, said to have, between February and December 1997 dishonestly received $87,000,000 and 41,143,000 pounds sterling also believed to have been stolen from the federal government.
Count seven accused him of voluntarily assisting in concealing the amounts mentioned in count six.
In count eight, Mohammed was accused of dishonestly receiving, between January and August 1998 $167,000,000 and 99,957,000 pounds sterling, believed to have been stolen from the federal government.
Count nine accused him of voluntarily assisting in concealing the amount mention in count eight.
The alleged offences are punishable under Sections 317 and 319 of the Penal Code.

“Davido is delighted over his Nollywood debut and he can’t wait for the project to kick off,” Nollywood actor, Ikechukwu Francis Ojeogwu recently disclosed. Speaking to Box Office, Ikechukwu, who doubles as the lead actor and producer of the flick entitled ‘John Zerebe’ said the music act has lot of things at stake in the movie.
“This is Davido’s first movie appearance, I, as the producer, have been able to work out things in such a manner that it would be beneficial to us all. I’ve crafted out a role that I know would put him in a comfortable position and won’t make him either excessive or otherwise,” Ike began.

Speaking further, Ike said “Davido is quite delighted and very supportive on this project like he has always been and he’s so big that if he puts his hand in anything that doesn’t worth it, it would tarnish his image and what he has built for himself. He has a lot at stake, aside from the financial stake, his image is also at stake and he’s taking this as serious as any other business. I know how big Davido is and I don’t want to put a lot of pressure on him because of his busy schedule and it is his first appearance furthermore, the script is in such a way that he doesn’t over shadow the beauty of the script but however, adds his weight to the success of project.”

Check Out How Google's New $1 Million Robot Sees The World [PHOTOS]

EXCLUSIVE NEWS|

A team of roboticists at MIT is preparing Atlas, a 6-foot-2-inch-tall, 330-pound humanoid robot that can climb stairs, open doors, and even drive a car, for competition in the DARPA Robotics Challenge at the end of 2014.

Atlas is built by Boston Dynamics, the robotics company bought by Google last December, and there are only eight of them in the world.

The DARPA Challenge is a "robot Olympics" — robots are asked to do things like climb a ladder, or connect a firehose to a standpipe and turn on the valve. These tasks are designed to test a robotic system's "mobility, manipulation, dexterity, perception, and operator control mechanisms."

A robot that can't make sense of its world in real time would never be able to do these things. Here's how Atlas' sensor systems rise to the challenge.

In the demo, Atlas was given instructions to find the piece of wood and pick it up.

This is the operator's view, where you give the robot its instructions. A number of monitors provide feedback on what Atlas can see and detect.

Here's what Atlas sees from the spinning "lidar" unit in its head. Lidar (that's light detection and ranging) is an imaging system that makes sense of an environment by bouncing lasers off it and analyzing how they reflect back. It's essentially a very precise rangefinder that operates in three dimensions.

Note the yellow and green "footprints" on the screen — this is Atlas determining where to place its feet in order to approach that steel beam:

Atlas has two stereo proximity cameras ("for situational awareness") and a third camera in its head angled slightly downward. This is a composite image of what the robot "sees" by way of its three cameras.

These systems come together to make it possible for the robot to perform environment-dependent tasks, like identifying the piece of wood it was told to pick up and stooping down to grab it.

Success!

Dwayne Johnson,’The Rock’ Did Not Die During Movie Stunt For FAST & FURIOUS 7

Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock, has not died, but Facebook scammers are saying otherwise, claiming he died during a movie stunt.
The post says, “R.I.P. Dwayne Johnson (1972 – 2014) … Watch how Dwayne Johnson died filming a stunt for FAST & FURIOUS 7.”
It shows a photo of Johnson and purports to have video footage. However, there is no video and it’s just a scam.
Johnson has made several tweets since the hoax went viral. He wrote on Monday afternoon: “Real men get roses.. & bottles of tequila;) Just landed & got to my suite. Thank U, London! Who wants a drink?”
When one clicks on the death hoax post, they’re taken to a website designed to look like Facebook. It then asks users to share the post, which ensures that the scam spreads further.
Such scams can prompt the downloading of malware, rogue Facebook apps, or offer bogus surveys that users shouldn’t fill out. Some are just designed to get traffic to a webpage.
Facebook says users should be wary of sharing posts to prevent the spreading of scams.
“Think before you click. Never click suspicious links, even if they come from a friend or a company you know. This includes links sent on Facebook (ex: in a chat or post) or in emails. If one of your friends clicks on spam they could accidentally send you that spam or tag you in a spammy post. You also shouldn’t download things (ex: a .exe file) if you aren’t sure what they are,” Facebook has said about scams.
Regarding “Fast & Furious 7,” production for the film started filming again about a week ago–about four months after the death of star Paul Walker.
Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Chris “Ludacris” Bridges will be brought back to the latest installment of the film

Meet Brazil's 8 Year Old Miracle Worker Who Allegedly Cures People Of Cancer, HIV, Other Diseases By Touching Them

Alani Santos claims to perform faith healing at her father's church in the slums otuside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Alani Santos claims to perform faith healing at her father's church in the slums otuside Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
8-year-old Alani Santos is a special little girl – she claims that she can channel the power of Jesus Christ to cure people of various illnesses. Hundreds gather at the San Gonzalo church just to get a glimpse of the miracle child and be healed by her touch. Incidentally, Alani’s father is a pastor at the same church. Pastor Aduato Santos, a reformed car thief, has fondly given his daughter the name ‘missionarinha’ or ‘little missionary’.

Videos posted online claim to show the eight-year-old laying her hands on an HIV sufferer and 'curing' him

Some of Alani’s healing sessions have been taped and uploaded on YouTube. One of the videos shows her healing a man who had been suffering from HIV for seven years. As the man stands with his head bowed, the pastor tells him: “You’re next. When the little missionary touches you, something will happen. You will be cured. You will feel the warmth.” As soon Alani puts her hand on the man’s head, he collapses on to the floor. The healing is then complete.

The clips show several others bursting into tears after Alani touches them. Like this one old woman with crutches. Pastor Santos takes her up to the front of the hall, where Alani repeatedly touches her legs. After a while, the woman is in tears of joy as she slowly walks around the room without the crutches. Alani has been curing people in this manner for the past two years. She enjoys making people better, and wants to become a doctor when she’s older.
Speaking to Vocative she said:
“To see God working though people and their lives, that is very pleasing,” she said. “A lot of the time I touch people, sometimes I just pray and worship and the person is cured. I pray and God performs miracles. My dad interviews people and they say they’ve been cured.” When asked about the most emotional part of the service at her father’s church, Alani said: “It’s the part when I pray and God performs miracles.”

Thanks to the growing popularity of Pentecostalism in Brazil, exorcisms and healings have become a common practice. Twice a week, the sick and vulnerable from around the country travel to San Gonzalo to meet with Alani and be touched by her. At the end of the service, a collection bowl is handed out and people are asked to fill it with whatever they can. Pastor Santos also sells T-shirts, DVDs and posters and allows people to access Alani’s healing services via Skype as well.
