A cruel dad who squeezed his baby girl to death leaving her with a brain injury and 26 fractured ribs has been found guilty of murder .
Tomas Druikas couldn't cope with fatherhood and lashed out at baby Deimante Driukaite in "temper and frustration" when left alone with the four-month-old tot.
The 26-year-old was convicted of her murder today, reports the Birmingham Mail .
He is due to be sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court tomorrow.
An ambulance was called to Driukas’s home in Crantock Road, Birmingham in the early hours of April 1, 2014.
The baby was rushed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital but died that evening.
An examination revealed she had suffered a very serious brain injury inflicted by Driukas and 26 rib fractures.
Jonas Hankin QC, prosecuting, said the fractures had been caused by “forceful squeezing”.
He said the defendant had acted out of “temper and frustration” because he was unable to deal with looking after her on his own.
Mr Hankin said Druikas and his partner Renata Braskyte had taken it in turns to look after the prematurely-born girl, who had suffered a number of health problems, while they each worked.
Miss Braskyte, 23, had been accused of allowing the death of a child, but the case was dropped against her earlier in the trial.
