Thousands protest in South Korea, demand president quit over scandal

Thousands of South Koreans rallied in Seoul on Saturday demanding the resignation of President Park Geun-hye, as a crisis deepened over allegations a friend exerted inappropriate influence over her and interfered in state affairs.
The street protest came as prosecutors investigate presidential aides and other officials to determine whether they broke the law to allow Park's friend, Choi Soon-sil, to wield undue influence and gain financially.
Angry Koreans say Park betrayed public trust and mismanaged the government, and has lost a mandate to lead the country.
"She must step down," Lee Jae-myung, mayor of Seongnam city south of Seoul and a vocal critic of the government, said to a loud cheer from the crowd. "If Park Geun-hye is no longer president, will our lives be any worse off and will the tension with North Korea be any worse?" he asked the crowd, which responded "No!"
About 8,000 people attended the rally, according to police, organized by a group of left-leaning civic groups. Organizers said up to 30,000 people took part in the march through the capital.
"It's become clear the people made a wrong decision and picked a wrong president," Jeong Hong-woo, 22, told Reuters at the rally.

Venezuelan President threatens to jail political opponents if they call for his removal

Venezuela President, Nicolas Maduro has threatened to jail his political opponents if they call for trial to remove him from Power.

This came after opposition leaders and hundreds of thousands of protesters took to the streets on Wednesday to protest against the president, as the country’s economic crisis continues to deepen food and medicine shortages, prompting opposition lawmakers to threaten to put the President on trial for violating democracy.

Reacting to the lawmaker’s threat, the President in a statement vowed to respond forcefully by jailing his political opponents if they make a move to call for his removal.

'If they launch a supposed political trial, which is not in our constitution, the state prosecution service must bring legal action in the courts and put in jail anyone who violates the constitution, even if they are members of Congress.'

Celine Dion Shares Rare Pic Of Her Three Sons

Katy Perry may have stolen the show at Kate Hudson's Halloween party last night with her Hillary Clinton costume, but she wasn't the only famous face there! We spotted Jessica Alba, Kendall Jenner, Nicole Richie, Emma Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow and tons of other stars rolling up to the party, and some of them went all out with sexy and spooky outfits. Kendall had just attended sister Kylie's Halloween bash, so she was really cramming in the events last night! Emma was nearly unrecognizable as a skeleton, while Gwyneth opted to hide under her cowgirl hat when we caught her with steady beau Brad Falchauk. We also caught Sacha Baron Cohen in a cow costume, and Nicole Richie's costume was pretty fab as well, though it doesn't appear as though the tiger in her trio is hubby Joel Madden. Or is it? We can't really tell from the face paint.

BRUNO MARS You Jacked Our Jam ... NOW WE'RE GONNA FUNK YOU UP!!!

1029-bruno-mars-tmz-01Bruno Mars' monster hit "Uptown Funk"  is a thinly-veiled replica of a groovy tune back in the day ... and now the OG band is out for blood in court.
Mars and "Uptown Funk" producer Mark Ronson are among many names listed in a lawsuit filed by members from the music group, Collage.  The band released a single in 1983 called "Young Girls" and claim Bruno's Billboard #1 is a dead-on copy in rhythm, harmony, melody and structure.

Clinton campaign condemns FBI email move

Hillary Clinton speaks at a rally in Florida
Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign team has challenged the FBI over its decision to brief US lawmakers on a new inquiry into the Democratic candidate's email use.
FBI Director James Comey informed Congress of the move in a letter on Friday, 11 days before the election.
Mrs Clinton told supporters the move was "unprecedented" and "deeply troubling".
But Republican opponent Donald Trump has praised the bureau's decision.
In his letter to Congress, Mr Comey said the FBI had learned of fresh emails which might be "pertinent" to its previous inquiry into the Democratic candidate's use of a private server when she was secretary of state in the Obama administration.
Mr Comey has defended the move, insisting that not making it public would be "misleading" and also risked being "misunderstood", given that the FBI does not know the significance of the newly found emails.
Speaking to supporters in Florida on Saturday, Mrs Clinton said: "It's not just strange, it's unprecedented. And it is deeply troubling because voters deserve to get full and complete facts.

Filipino president vows to stop swearing

Image result for Filipino president vows to stop swearing
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has promised to stop swearing, saying God spoke to him on a flight from Japan on Thursday, warning him the plane would crash if he kept using bad language.
The maverick former mayor, famous for profanity that has included outbursts aimed at Pope Francis and US President Barack Obama, said he heard a voice and realised it was God, telling him to clean up his act.
"I was looking at the skies while I was coming over here ... everybody was asleep, snoring, but a voice said that, 'you know, if you don't stop epithets, I will bring this plane down now'," Duterte said at a news conference late on Thursday upon arrival in his home city of Davao.
"And I said, 'who is this?' So, of course, it's God. OK.

Teenager Sues Media Outlets for Making Fun of His Mullet

One image poking fun of the look shows people using Mosslmani’s head for a game of pin the tail on the donkey. Another meme turned him into the star of the movie Joe Dirt. He’s also been placed on the dollar bill and the Australian 20-cent coin. And there’s a My Little Pony ad featuring multiple Mosslmani heads.
A handful of publications jumped on the bandwagon, but the butt of the joke is not laughing.
Ali Mosslmani’s mullet is not here for your entertainment, people.
The Australian teenager’s hairdo recently inspired a series of memes — and he’s not happy about it. Apparently, this isn’t the type of attention he was going for when he got such a bold haircut.
The ’do is shaved on the sides and top, with long, luscious hair in the back. The photo was taken at an 18th birthday party. It blew up over the summer, receiving more than 11,415 comments, almost 10,000 likes, and more than 1.7 million views within one week
Mosslmani, known as “Ziggy,” filed defamation suits against the Daily Mail, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph and the Australian Radio Network for publishing the photograph and making fun of his unique haircut, according to Mashable.

Clinton calls on FBI to 'immediately' release information on renewed email probe

Hillary Clinton
Hillary Clinton implored the FBI on Friday evening to release information on its review of newly discovered documents "pertinent" to the probe into her use of a private email server.
“The American people deserve to get the full and complete facts immediately,” Clinton told reporters before taking questions.
Earlier in the day, FBI Director James Comey sent a vague letter to congressional leaders notifying them that the bureau was again actively investigating Clinton’s use of a private server after discovering new documents “pertinent to the investigation.”
Clinton said she learned of the news from media reports and had not “been contacted by anyone” from the FBI.
The Democratic nominee added that she was "confident" the new emails would not change the results of the FBI's initial conclusion. The bureau declined to recommend charges against her in July, and Attorney General Loretta Lynch said the case was closed.

Arsenal and Chelsea both ready to pinch Sergio Aguero?

Sergio Aguero looks dejected after the game

Premier League big boys are hoping to jump on any uncertainty surrounding Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, reports Spanish outlet Don Balon.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all reportedly eyeing up the Argentine hitman, following an alleged falling out with Pep Guardiola.
Aguero was only a substitute against Barcelona in the Champions League last week, then again against Everton at the weekend.
Real Madrid are also mentioned as long-time admirers - although they are banned from making transfers until 2018 - while Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain complete the list of potential suitors.

6yr old Effiong lived in the bush for one year to avoid 'witch killers' in Akwa Ibom

Thousands of stigmatized 'Witch Children' have found refuge at CRARN center, in Akwa Ibom. The children were branded as "witches" by church ministers and have been cast out by their families and shunned by society.

One of them is six-year-old Israel Effiong, from Ikot Uso Ekong, Eket, who was accused of being responsible for his father's illness. Fearing for his life, he ran away and hid in a bush for a year before he was rescued by Edoho,a volunteer with the organisation.

Lawyer says U.S. Supreme Justice Thomas groped her in 1999

A woman who works as a corporate lawyer with an Alaska energy company has accused U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas of groping her in 1999, a charge he called "preposterous" and untrue.
The woman, Moira Smith, said Thomas grabbed and squeezed her buttocks several times during a dinner party when she was 23 years old in the Falls Church, Virginia home of her boss at the time, the National Law Journal reported on Thursday.
Thomas, 68, joined the high court in 1991 after contentious Senate confirmation hearings involving sexual harassment allegations against him made by another female lawyer, Anita Hill.
Smith, currently vice president and general counsel at Enstar Natural Gas Co in Alaska, released a statement in which she said Thomas "touched me inappropriately and without my consent." Laura Fink, a political consultant in San Diego acting as Smith's spokeswoman, said the National Law Journal's account of the allegations was accurate.
Thomas, in a statement to the National Law Journal, said, "The claim is preposterous and it never happened."
A Supreme Court spokesman declined to comment on Thomas' behalf. Reuters was not able to independently verify Smith's accusations.
