11 signs someone is lying to you

A majority of the people you talk to on a daily basis are big fat liars.
A 2002 study conducted by University of Massachusetts Amherst psychologist Robert S. Feldman found that 60% of people lied during a 10-minute conversation, and they told an average of two to three lies in that time.
Luckily, fibs are fairly easy to spot — you just have to know the signs.
Dr. Lillian Glass, a behavioral analyst and body language expert who has worked with the FBI on unmasking signals of deception, says when trying to figure out if someone is lying, you first need to understand how the person normally acts. Then you'll want to pay careful attention to their facial expressions, body language, and speech patterns, she writes in her book "The Body Language of Liars."
Vivian Giang contributed to an earlier version of this article.
Here are 11 telltale signs:

1. They change their head position quickly.

If you see someone suddenly make a head movement when you ask them a direct question, they may be lying to you about something.
"The head will be retracted or jerked back, bowed down, or cocked or tilted to the side," writes Glass. This will often happen right before the person is expected to respond to a question.

2. Their breathing changes.

When someone is lying to you, they may begin to breathe heavily, Glass says. "It's a reflex action."
When their breathing changes, their shoulders will rise and their voice may get shallow, she adds. "In essence, they are out of breath because their heart rate and blood flow change. Your body experiences these types of changes when you're nervous and feeling tense — when you lie."

3. They stand very still.

It's common knowledge that people fidget when they get nervous, but Glass says that you should also watch out for people who are not moving at all.
"This may be a sign of the primitive neurological 'fight,' rather than the 'flight,' response, as the body positions and readies itself for possible confrontation," says Glass. "When you speak and engage in normal conversation, it is natural to move your body around in subtle, relaxed, and, for the most part, unconscious movements. So if you observe a rigid, catatonic stance devoid of movement, it is often a huge warning sign that something is off."

4. They repeat words or phrases.

This happens because they're trying to convince you, and themselves, of something, she says. "They're trying to validate the lie in their mind." For example, he or she may say: "I didn't ...I didn't ..." over and over again, Glass says.
The repetition is also a way to buy themselves time as they attempt to gather their thoughts, she adds.

5. They touch or cover their mouth.

"A telltale sign of lying is that a person will automatically put their hands over their mouth when they don't want to deal with an issue or answer a question," says Glass.
"When adults put their hands over their lips, it means they aren't revealing everything, and they just don't want to tell the truth," she says. "They are literally closing off communication."

6. They instinctively cover vulnerable body parts.

This may include areas such as the throat, chest, neck, head, or abdomen.
"I have often seen this in the courtroom when I work as a consultant for attorneys. I can always tell when someone's testimony has hit a nerve with the defendant, when I see his or her hand covering the front of his/her throat," says Glass.
"I never appreciated the potential use of this very telling behavior until I joined the FBI as a Special Agent," she says.

7. They shuffle their feet.

"This is the body taking over," Glass explains. Shuffling feet tells you that the potential liar is uncomfortable and nervous. It also shows you that he or she wants to leave the situation; they want to walk away, she says.
"This is one of the key ways to detect a liar. Just look at their feet and you can tell a lot."

8. They provide too much information.

"When someone goes on and on and gives you too much information — information that is not requested and especially an excess of details — there is a very high probability that he or she is not telling you the truth," writes Glass. "Liars often talk a lot because they are hoping that, with all their talking and seeming openness, others will believe them."

9. It becomes difficult for them to speak.

"If you ever watch the videotaped interrogation of a suspect who is guilty, you will often observe that it becomes more and more difficult for her to speak," writes Glass. "This occurs because the automatic nervous system decreases salivary flow during times of stress, which of course dries out the mucous membranes of the mouth."
Other signs to watch out for include sudden lip biting or pursed lips.

10. They tend to point a lot.

"When a liar becomes hostile or defensive, he is attempting to turn the tables on you," says Glass. The liar will get hostile because he is angry that you've discovered his lies, which may result in a lot of pointing.

11. They stare at you without blinking much.

When people lie, it's common that they break eye contact, but the liar could go the extra mile to maintain eye contact in attempt to control and manipulate you.
"[Bernie] Madoff, like most con men, overcompensated and stared at people longer than usual, often without blinking at regular intervals," says Glass. "When people tell the truth, most will occasionally shift their eyes around and may even look away from time to time. Liars, on the other hand, will use a cold, steady gaze to intimidate and control."
Also watch out for rapid blinking.

Tyga attacked in Switzerland by angry club owner...(photos)

According to TMZ, Tyga was attacked by a club owner in Switzerland last night after showing up late for an appearance and leaving early. Read the TMZ report below...
Tyga pissed off a Swiss club owner so much, the guy chased him outside and started a fist fight with the rapper and his entourage ... and Kylie Jenner had a front row seat. Tyga was scheduled to play a show at Envogue Genève, a club in Geneva, Switzerland. According to our sources, Tyga was supposed to play for an hour ... but he showed up super late and only performed for about 10 minutes.
Tyga left the club around 4 AM and got in his car with Kylie. The enraged owner was hot on Tyga's heels, running out of the club, yelling for Tyga ... a fight then broke out.

At that point Tyga got out of the car to join in the fracas, but an eyewitness says someone in the owner's posse flashed a gun. That was apparently enough for Tyga to make a hasty retreat, leaving his bodyguards behind.

Escaped New York Inmate Richard Matt Shot and Killed by Police, Officials Say

Escaped convicted murderer Richard Matt was shot and killed by authorities today, according to officials, 20 days after he made an elaborate escape from an upstate New York prison.
Officials believe the other convicted murder he escaped with from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, David Sweat, is still on the run, sources said.
Matt and Sweat escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility early June 6 and more than 1,100 officers have been involved in the search.
Matt and Sweat used power tools to cut through the back of their adjacent cells at the maximum security prison, about 20 miles south of the Canadian border, police said. They broke through a brick wall, then cut into a steam pipe and slithered through it, finally emerging outside the prison walls through a manhole.
Matt was serving 25 years to life in prison after he kidnapped and beat a man to death in 1997.
Sweat was serving a life sentence after he was convicted of killing a Broome County sheriff's deputy in 2002.

6 Kinds Of Sex You Have When You’re Not In A Relationship

Diana Buraka
Just because you’re not in a relationship doesn’t mean you’re not having sex, contrary to what our parents might like to believe.
As long as you’re being safe and it’s your choice, sex can be a pretty fabulous thing — a thing even the single crowd wants to be a part of.
One might argue that there are more single people out there having sex at any given moment than people in committed relationships.
Just like with relationship sex, single sex comes in many different forms.
There will never be a right way to have sex, or a right situation for it to come out of.
There are many different ways to find and have sex in the single world, but here are just a few you might be able to relate to:

1. Not as well as you know you can.

It really wasn’t that great, but you don’t say anything. It doesn’t matter as much as it would if you were seeing the person exclusively.
You don’t have to keep doing it, and even if you wanted to, it probably wouldn’t happen, so addressing the issues doesn’t really matter.
It wasn’t the best sex you’ve ever had, and that’s that. It definitely wasn’t the greatest showcase of your skills.
Maybe the chemistry was off. Maybe you just weren’t feeling it. Either way, oh well.

2. When you’re drunk.

You’re out, you’re getting drunk and the drunker you get, the more you would really like to get laid.
You know there’s a large possibility that it won’t be the best sex you’ve ever had.
But, you never know with drunk sex. For a lot of people, it’s usually not that great. But, when you’re drunk you get flirty, horny or lonely, and sometimes a little sex is all you need to curb that feeling.
Maybe it’s with someone you know, and maybe it’s not. It might not be the best idea you’ve ever had, but as long as you’re safe about it, why not? It happens.

3. When you wish it would turn into more than just sex.

It’s just sex, and it’s been just sex, for a while. You tell yourself you can handle this whole “no strings attached” thing.
You are chill and mature. You can do it.
You’re with the person one night and when it’s over, you feel yourself wanting to hang on for a little longer, wanting to cuddle and talk about life, just wanting more.
You tell yourself you’re okay with just the sex, but you have a feeling you might be lying to yourself.

4. With someone you’re already friends with.

It’s possible you and this person have been due to have sex for a long time, as in you’re flirty friends who’ve had tension since you met years ago.
Or maybe, you guys are just friends who never really thought about things that way before, but there’s a first time for everything.
Either way, you know this person really well, and overall, that probably makes the sex so much better.
There’s already a closeness and a level of trust that exists. The sex does have the possibility to f*ck things up, of course. Sex always does.
It also has the possibility to start something that was maybe supposed to happen all along, and that just might be worth taking a chance on.
It also might just be fantastic sex with someone you care about, and nothing more.
That’s pretty awesome, too.

5. Totally by accident.

You weren’t planning to have sex. It wasn’t even a remote possibility in your mind.
There are sometimes those nights when you don’t have any plans to get laid, but you throw on a cute pair of underwear and some extra perfume anyway, just in case.
This was not one of those nights. You were in no way prepared.
When you realized it was happening, you just kind of had to take a deep breath and hope for the best.
You could turn it down, but I mean, come on. Hey, sometimes happy accidents are a good thing, right?

6. When you both know you shouldn’t.

So often, there’s that one person who you know you shouldn’t be sleeping with. It’s a friend’s ex, your ex or someone who is already some form of taken.
It’s someone you’ve shared a bed with before, or shouldn’t go there with in the first place.
You both know this isn’t a good idea. You both know this won’t end well.
You both do it anyway, with a weird, intense passion that comes from it being so forbidden. Afterward, you’re not sure if you regret it or not.
It wasn’t supposed to happen, but that still doesn’t mean you regret it.

Circled: A man wearing a yellow top is being urged to contact police
The sexual assault took place at 5pm on Friday, June 12, in Afflecks Palace, Manchester, her parents told officers.
Detective Constable Daniel Nowland said: “The girl was touched a number of times and managed to build up the courage to tell her parents before the man left the building. Her dad tried to look for him but he had already made his escape.
“The young girl has been left extremely traumatised by what happened as since then, does not want to return to the city centre.
Police hunt
CCTV: Officers are 'keen to get in contact' with this man
“We have trawled CCTV from Afflecks Palace and other sources and obtained a still of a man we are keen to get in contact with. I would ask anyone who recognises him to call us as soon as possible.
“From the footage, we believe this man has four tattoos, one on the outside of his right forearm, one on the outside of his right bicep, one on the outside of his left calf and possibly a band tattoo round the upper part of his left arm.
"If you know who he is, please pick up the phone.”

Stunning pictures of Paris in chaos as anti-Uber taxi drivers ambush cars and set fires

Taxi drivers hit the streets of France to protest on Thursday, bringing some of the country's main transport arteries to a total standstill.
They are officially protesting against Uber's ride-hailing app UberPOP, which allows users to be picked up by uncertified drivers.
But the protest also seems to be about Uber in general. In some places there has been outright violence, with burning tyres, flares, flipped cars, and riot police.
France is not the only place where taxi drivers have protested over Uber's apps, but the demonstrations have been much more violent than in other European cities.
Take a look at the dramatic scenes.
