Britney Spears Caught Smoking In front of Her Kids

It is quite pathetic when you are vocally talentless but still smokes.

Britney Spears was photographed smoking in front of a children. The vocally-challenged pop star felt no shame smoking in front of her kids.

Personally, I find it deplorable to smoke in front of your children. It’s like having sex in front of them. They may pick up the habit at a very young age.

Also, Britney must desist from smoking since it will harm her already limited voice. If smoking could harm a 5-octave vocalist like Whitney Houston, what would happen to a person with a very limited range like her?

Justin Bieber Wins Award for His Charity Work & Then promptly Gives It Away to a Fan

Justin Bieber does not have the shiniest reputation, even for a celebrity the Canadian Pop star has gotten himself into a lot of tight spot over the years.

Yet his latest action is one that is guaranteed to make a lot of people smile; well unless you’re a cynical sceptic like me and ascribe other motivations to the act.

Bieber won the Champ of Charity award at the Young Hollywood Awards for his extensive work with the make-a-wish foundation. The award was handed to him by Australian pop star Cody Simpson, accompanied by a montage of Bieber’s work with Make-a-Wish.

Bieber then called onto the stage Grace Kesabalak, one of the Make-a-Wish recipients, then gave his away his award plague to the young lady and gave her a hug in a heart-warming moment.

Kebalak, who had asked to attend the event as part of her gift, had the biggest surprise of her life.

20 year old Bieber has seen a big hit to his reputation over the years, having had several run-ins with the law. He was arrested last month in Miami Beach for driving under the influence, and was charged also with resisting arrest and assault.

Yet Bieber has done great work with Make-a-Wish foundation, a US based organisation that aim to make life better for kids with life threatening conditions. The organisation utilises celebrities to ‘grant wishes’ for these special kids in desperate need.

In his acceptance speech, Bieber said “Someone asked me backstage and they said, ‘What’s it like to give?’ And I didn’t really know what to say, but I know it’s so much better than receiving”

‘Beliebers; all over the world would be shrieking in delight, whilst others would be calling the whole thing a publicity stunt. Whatever it is, if Bieber deserves condemnation when he screws up, then he deserves a little thumbs up for this action.

Whatever the motivation, it was a beautiful little gesture, and props to Justin Bieber.

At least 24 dead, 271 hurt in Taiwan gas explosions

The death toll is rising in Taiwan in a series of explosions triggered by underground gas leaks in the southern city of Kaohsiung, according to state-run news agency CNA

At least 24 people were killed and another 271 injured when the powerful blasts ripped through the city's sewage system early Friday. Firefighters from neighboring cities rushed to Kaohsiung to help battle the flames, CNA reported.

Among the dead were four firefighters. Another 22 emergency workers were also injured. A senior fire official said an unknown number of people were missing.

Authorities investigated reports of an apparent gas leak in the hours before a series of explosions rocked the city's Cianjhen district.

Fires blazed through the night, but had mostly been contained by Friday morning.

As daylight broke the extent of the damage became clear, with wrecked cars and motorcycles strewn across the cratered streets.

The blasts were powerful. A private car was found on the roof of a three-story building. Two people were blown to the top of a four-story building where emergency workers found them and took them to the hospital.

Schools and offices in the Cianjhen district, as well as the neighboring Lingya District, were closed on Friday to facilitate rescue efforts, Mayor Chen Chu told reporters. Several schools and a cultural center are being used as emergency shelters.

Authorities suspect ethylene, propane or butane in the explosions. There are several petrochemical factories in the region.

The government called up hundreds of soldiers to assist in search and rescue efforts.

Landlady’s children cut tenant’s private part

A young man identified as Yinka Offehin is currently battling for his life at a private hospital in Lagos after the children of his landlady, named Damilola Olaleye & Solomon Olowogbemi, allegedly attacked him cutting off his scrotum, Punch reports

The alleged attack took place at Popoola Street, off Abaranje Road in the Ikotun area of Lagos and was said to have happened as Offehun was sleeping with his family in his room. The tenant was said to have attacked by the landlady's children over a disagreement he had with their mother, who'd asked him to vacate her compound immediately

“On Thursday morning, around 3am, while we were sleeping, we heard loud bangs on our door. We initially thought they were armed robbers because the house beside ours had recently been robbed. When they entered, we saw they were children of our landlady. They began destroying our electronics and other property. There were two of them. One held a knife in his hand. They took N800, 000. They descended on my husband and he also fought back. In that confusion, my husband shouted and we saw that one of the attackers had cut Yinka’s scrotum. I can’t say what they used to cut off my husband’s scrotum.”

She said even in so much pain, her husband was able to hold on to one of his attackers till dawn, while the other fled the scene.

Offehin, while narrating what led to the attack, said;

 “I was asked to leave the house immediately, but after the intervention of the traditional ruler of the community, I was asked to leave by the end of August. But that decision did not go down well with the children of my landlady and they continued to make trouble with me. I was already planning to leave their house and had even contacted an agent when they attacked me without any provocation. I want the government to fight for me,” he said.

Doctors at the hospital where he is being treated say they have stitched the scrotum but that the wound would take up to three months to heal. Family sources say they have spent over N60,000 for his treatment and that they have been told by doctors that if the wound does not heal, he might have to undergo a surgery.

When contacted, father of the suspects who is a pastor asked that the matter be left for God to decide as both suspects are now in police cell

"I am sorry; I can’t speak with you on this matter. You know the matter is already with the police and those they accused of committing the offence are in the police cell. So, what do you want me to say? I was told they are taking the matter to court. Let’s leave everything to God.” he said

The Lagos state Police spokeswoman who confirmed the incident said both suspects are currently in police custody

"It was around 3am, while the victim was sleeping in his room, that one Solomon Olowogbemi and Damilola Olayeye, the children of his landlady, came in and started fighting with him. In the process, they inflicted injury on him with an unknown object. The skin of his scrotum was partly cut off, thereby exposing one of his testicles. The two suspects have been arrested and detained and the victim taken to a hospital.” she said
