It’s No Crime Selling Human Parts – Suspect

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a grandfather, Mr. Segun Kayode, for allegedly exhuming and selling human parts.

According to the police, the suspect, who works at a cemetery in Epe area of the state, sold human parts for a living, adding that he had become notorious in the area for selling human parts.

It was learnt that the suspect was arrested following a report by a resident who saw him displaying a skull for sale.
The grandfather, who could not give his exact age, said he started selling human parts because he was poor and jobless.

He said:

“I live at 2,Tungbehin Street, Epe. I have two children and I am a grandfather. I have always been poorall my life because I had no formal or informal education. I used to be a fisherman but when there were no longer fishes in rivers in my area, I became a gardener at Epe Local Government Secretariat.

“About four years ago, the LG said they no longer needed my services so I started trimming grass at a cemetery in the area.”
The suspect, who did not deny the allegations, said there was nothing wrong in selling dead people’s parts since the dead never used them.

He said one day, while he was clearing weeds in the cemetery, he noticed a human skull which had been dug up.

He said, “Most times, when a corpse is not buried with a coffin, the possibility of the corpse resurfacing is very high. So, what workers at the cemetery do is to gather some of the corpses and burn them instead of burying them again.

“I realised that this was not a smart thing to do since it would be better to make money from it. The families of thesedead people never care about them once they are buried and weeds had taken over the cemetery.”

The suspect said he sold only two corpses while he had on numerous occasions given them out for free.

He said, “I have sold only two human heads. I sold the first one for N1, 000 while I sold the second one for N1, 500. Last week, a resident approached me saying an herbalist needed the head so I got a decomposed head, for him, washed it and put it on a fence to dry.

“A resident saw me and raised the alarm and that was how I was arrested.”

PUNCH Metro had reported last week that five people, including an herbalist, were arrested for selling human parts.

A police source told one of our correspondents that the trend was common in areas where public cemeteries were situated.

“Areas which are not located in the metropolis and have cemeteries have become the hideout for cartels which specialise in sale of human parts. We (police) have reason to believe that some of these human parts dealers also engage in ritual killing,” he said.

The source added that efforts were going on to arrest other human parts sellers in the area.

When contacted on the telephone, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed Kayode’s arrest. She said he had been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba.

Corpers Saved Secondary Student From Suicide

If not for some Corps members, Yohanna Daniel, a senior Secondary School (SSS3) pupil, would have been dead by now. He was about to commit suicide following a road crash that led to the amputation of his right leg when Corps members in Gadabuke Development Area of Nasarawa State came to his rescue. DAYO OJERINDE (Corps member, NYSC Keffi) tells Yohanna’s story.

Hohanna Daniel, a Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3 pupil of Unity High School in Gadabuke Development Area of Nasarawa State, contemplated suicide after several months of battling with gangrene on his right leg. He had anaccident on a motorcycle while travelling to Gadabuke Town from his village. The motorcycle collided with an oncoming car.

He was unconscious for several hours after the accident. When he opened his eyes, he found himself at Godiya Private Hospital, Gadabuke, where sympathisers rushed him to after the crash.

His right leg was damaged and the medical personnel told him he would require an operation.
His parents made funds available for the operation. But after a series of operations, which Yohanna said the hospital handled carelessly, the pains persisted. Rather than heal, the leg began to decay. Having exhausted themselves, Yohanna’s parents could not provide funds for another operation. Apparently frustrated, Yohanna said he began to think of suicide. He said if he died, the pain would disappear. He said he had a dream of becoming a successful professional, but life became unbearable for him because of the pains.

Corps members serving in Gadabuke Town changed his suicide plan. Through their Community DevelopmentService (CDS), the Corps members. They contributed their monthly allowance to enable Yohanna undergo another round of surgery at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, where Yohanna’s leg was amputated to stop the decay. Speaking on what motivated the Corps members, the CDS Co-ordinator, Jeffery Igbuzor, said: “This boy lives close to my house. I felt the pain he was going through because the doctor that operated the leg after the accident did a bad job. I informed my colleagues about the agony of the pupil at a CDS meeting we had. They all supported the idea and we moved it.”

Asked about the challenges they encountered, Jeffery said: “We could not get all the funds requested at the Federal Medical Centre, Keffi. Many of us had to contribute from our meagre stipends. We also went round the schools in Gadabuke Development Area to seek for money. Some principals supported us while some promised to get back to us.”

The Corpers’ Liaison Officer (CLO) in the area, who was present in the hospital during the surgery, said: “We appreciate the effort of our Local Inspector (LI), Mr Moses Adamolekun, who was supportive during the period. He could have rejected the whole idea in the first place but he encouraged us and even visited the hospital to check on the boy after the surgery. All Corps members in Gadabuke took the issue of this boy as their personal project.” When CAMPUSLIFE visited him, Yohanna, who could hardly speak, broke down in tears, saying: “If the Corps members did not come to my rescue, I would have committed suicide because of the pains I was passing through after theaccident and after the first careless operation I had. I will return to school as soon as the wound is healed.” Adamolekun said: “When the Corps members informed about the condition of Yohanna, my heart literally melted. I told them that this is a task we must do to save the life of the boy. In a way, we have tried our best, and we will not stop there; an artificial leg is important too. We want this boy to be on his feet again, though with an artificial leg. I believe with God, everything is possible.”

The lad is in need of an artificial leg, the Corps members said would cost N150,000. Having contributed from their personal finance, the Corps members urged philanthropists across the nation to join in giving Yohanna’s life a meaning.

TWO young men have been remanded in Agodi Prison by an Ibadan Magistrate Court for allegedly using a magical ring to abduct and gang-rape a 19-year-old secondary school girl in Ibadan.
The two suspects, according to a police source, were charged with conspiracy, rape and stealing of a Blackberry phone belonging to the victim.
The rape victim said she closed from school at Wofun Iyana Church, and was accosted by the suspects who insisted she should follow them to their residence. But, when she refused, one of them allegedly used a magical ring to hit her on the chest and she was unconscious.

“There is a boy who was not my boy friend. He was a student in that school about two years ago. His name is Biola. He had wanted to date me several times which I politely turned down. Just last Wednesday, when I closed from school, Biola came to me in company of two unidentified boys and said his mum wanted to see me.

“‘I asked him what led to the invitation by his mum. I then told him I would not go. Then, one of the two other guys who had a ring on his hand hit me on the chest and I was unconscious. They took me to the residence of one of the two boys and raped me.

“Before raping me, they gave me alcoholic drink and after the crime had been committed, they gave me ‘covenant water’ threatening me that I would die if I told anybody of the act.”

A top policeman who claimed anonymity because he was not instructed to speak, confirmed the story, saying: “On May 15 at 0815 hours, one Adekola living on Akanbi Street, Molade area of Ibadan reported that his younger sister and a secondary school student went to school and did not return home. All efforts to trace her proved abortive.

“Then about 23:00hours, an unanimous caller called through the victim’s GSM number and identified himself as kidnapper and demanded N6,000. The DCO led other policemen and the victim was rescued.”

She was unconscious and was rushed to a nearby hospital. She later narrated how she was kidnapped and gang-raped by three persons. Two arrests have been made while the third suspect is still at large. The two suspects have been charged to court.”

Chinese baby flushed down a toilet; mother claims baby fell into the toilet after she gave birth

The mother of the newborn baby boy flushed down a toilet in China watched in secret as rescuers plucked him alive from a sewer pipe.

The 22-year-old woman is believed to have raised the initial alarm but only confessed to police after they searched her rented room and found toys and blood-stained toilet paper, the Chinese state news agency reported.

Police initially said they were treating the case of as possible attempted homicide, but it was not immediately clear whether the mother would face any criminal charges.
A police officer said she had hidden her pregnancy and claimed the baby fell into the lavatory after she unexpectedly gave birth. ‘The woman was on the scene during the entire rescue process ... and admitted she was the mother when we asked her.’

He said police were still investigating whether she had any ‘malicious intentions’ before deciding on charges.

The single woman, a tenant in the building, told police she could not afford an abortion and secretly delivered the child Saturday afternoon in the toilet.

She said the newborn slipped into the sewer line and that she alerted her landlord of the trapped baby after she could not pull the child out, Zhejiang News said.

The landlord of the building said there were no signs that the birth took place in the restroom and she had not been aware of any recent pregnancies among her tenants.

But the mother told police she cleaned up the toilet after the delivery and that she had managed to hide her pregnancy by wearing loose clothes and tightly wrapping her abdomen.

Nurse Zhang Songhe told the Daily Mail that the mother of the baby was with him in hospital. ‘I don’t know the reason she abandoned the baby.

‘We’re going to take care of the baby. We are not sure when the baby can be discharged.’
She added: 'When the baby arrived here, he was in critical condition.
'We suspect he has a fracture in the top right section of his skull. But now everything has been stabilized.'

‘It is true, I have left chocolate city’, Brymo voices out on Twitter

BrymO
Already looking out? BrymO certainly doesn’t look happy at Choc City. Photo: Facebook
The on-going controversy circling around BrymO‘s alleged departure from powerhouse record label Chocolate Citycontinues as the artiste has voiced out, claiming he has left the label.
A few minutes ago, BrymO announced on Twitter ‘It is true, I have left chocolate city‘, confirming rumours that surfaced this week that he had left the label.
But following an exclusive report from NET over the issue, BrymO might just be a barking dog that won’t bite anytime soon.
The label and his manager  Samuel Lolo clearly state that the ‘hook master’ is still signed to them and therefore can’t walk out of their deal.
He still has three years and two albums to deliver, that’s what his contract says‘, a rep from Choc City says.
The case is quite reminiscent of Wizkid’s contractual issues with his label EME. The artiste had also rebelled against the Banky W-led label and even went as far as starting off his own label Star Boy Entertainment but he’s eventually returned to EME.
It is true, I have left chocolate city.

Mariah Carey's dress drama on 'GMA

On "Good Morning America" Friday, Mariah Carey certainly woke viewers up with a near-wardrobe malfunction.
The singer was chatting with "GMA's" Lara Spencer during her performance in Central Park as part of the show's summer concert series when her sparkly floor-length pink Versace gown gave up.
"Oh, s*** now the back of my dress just popped," the frustrated singer said. When she spun around, viewers could see that the top half of the back of the gown had split apart.
Spencer held on to one of Carey's straps while an assistant ran up to attend to the other side. Carey, trying to keep the mood light, joked that she could also just hold up her cleavage throughout the set.

After changing into a different pink dress, Carey was apparently still feeling flustered as she let another curse word slip while introducing her "Beautiful" collaborator, Miguel. This time, the censors didn't catch her "oh, s***."

We're sure Miguel understood the precarious nature of a live performance, though - he's still grappling with the infamy that came after he struck a woman in the face with his leg at last Sunday's Billboard Music Awards.
When it was all said and done, Carey could find support from her fans. "Thank you for standing in the rain while I was dealing with the ensem drama etc.," she told her fans on Twitter. "I love you so much!"
