Celebrities attack Donald Trump over executive ban on Muslims

Celebrities in America are speaking out to slam President Donald Trump for signing an executive order that is now being referred to as the “Muslim ban.”
The new order temporarily bans any refugee from entering the United States, and temporarily stops anyone from several Muslim countries from entering the country.

Legal challenges are already being presented to Donald Trump's ban on Muslim asylum-seekers

Lawyers representing two Iraqi refugees have filed legal challenges to President Donald Trump's executive order barring citizens and refugees from seven Muslim-majority nations from entering the US.
The order took immediate effect on Friday and left refugees stranded or detained in airports across the country.
The two Iraqi refugees, who were being held at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, were carrying valid visas and had been granted asylum for their or their families' work for the US government during the American occupation, which made them targets in their home country.
The refugees' lawyers "filed a writ of habeas corpus early Saturday in the Eastern District of New York seeking to have their clients released," the New York Times reported on Saturday. "At the same time, they filed a motion for class certification, in an effort to represent all refugees and immigrants who they said were being unlawfully detained at ports of entry."

California wants to secede from the United States

I guess a bit of Chaos is coming to the US following Donald Trump's election to the highest seat in the country. The state of California wants to secede from the United States in a move that has been called 'Calexit', which if they succeed, would establish California as a separate country from the USA. This is the first time since 1861 that a state (South Carolina) would attempt to exit the US.

One of the people pushing for the recession explained why California wants out of the US;
"California is the most diverse place in the world. And we  want to have more minorities, more immigrants, more international connections"

High Court blocks Nigeria oil spill case against Shell

Nigerian communities say oil spills have caused a major increase in serious health problems [EPA]
A British court has blocked pollution claims against Anglo-Dutch energy giant Shell by many residents of Nigeria's Niger Delta region demanding action over decades of oil spills there.
Members of the Ogale and Bille communities, who say thousands of lives have been devastated by environmental disasters from the global company, had applied for the case to be heard in Britain, arguing that rampant corruption in their home country prevents them from achieving justice in courts there.
But the High Court in London on Thursday said that it did not have jurisdiction in the case, ruling that it should be settled in Nigeria.
"Our community is disappointed but not discouraged by this judgement," King Emere Godwin Bebe Okpabi, ruler of the Ogale Community, said in a statement.
"This decision has to be appealed, not just for Ogale but for many other people in the Niger Delta who will be shut out if this decision is allowed to stand.

The Case Against El Chapo: What We Know So Far

After decades of evading the authorities with almost mythic agility, New York's Eastern District has finally pinned Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzmán down in a lower Manhattan jail. The Sinaloa cartel kingpin faces what U.S. Attorney Robert L. Capers called "a 17-count, sweeping indictment," including drug distribution, money laundering and most broadly, "leading a continuing criminal enterprise" – which covers his activity from 1989 to present day. If charged with that alone, he faces a mandatory minimum of life in prison.
