For the very first time, MTN Project winner, Iyanya has come out to state the position of things between himself and the Ghanaian top actress, Yvonne Nelson.

Iyanya in his explanation said that himself and Yvonne have come a long way even before his song became a hit. In a polite and diplomatic manner, he admitted that they are just friends but they do ‘things’ together.

Here him ‘’ she is a friend. I met her in Ghana, before my hit songs even came out. We hang out, we do things friends do together, nothing else.’’.

We inquired to know those things friends do together and he put up another defence ‘’you should know what friends do. We hold hands and talk. We just have fun. We go out together too and that’s why you see all the pictures you see. She is a cool lady anytime. If it is God’s will she is someone I can marry, why not, she is fine enough. Ghanaian girls are cool and she’s definitely one of them,’’ he said.

Gunmen on motorcycles kill lawmaker

 Gunmen riding on motorcycles have killed a prominent politician in Nigeria’s second city of Kano, officials said Sunday amid a wave of similar shootings blamed on a radical Islamist group.

Boko Haram insurgents have attacked scores of political leaders and other symbols of authority in Nigeria’s restive north. A police source, who confirmed the killing, said the group may be responsible for the latest violence.

Ibrahim Abba Garko, a lawmaker in the assemblyof Kano state, of which Kano city is the capital, was shot three times as he sat with friends at a popular meeting spot near a petrol station.

“He was shot in the head, chest and shoulder by the gunmen and from all indications he was their target,” said Salisu Ibrahim Riruwai, another Kano state lawmaker.

“He died on the spot,” Riruwai said, adding that two others were seriously injured in the attack.

Such targetted political assassinations have been rare in Kano, although the historic city was on January 20 the site of the group’s deadliest ever attack when at least 185 people were killed.

Boko Haram has said it wants to create an Islamic state in Nigeria’s mainly Muslim north, although the group is believed to consist of various cells with different aims. Attacks linked to local rivalries have in the past been blamed on Boko Haram.

The group’s insurgency is estimated to have left 2,800 people dead since 2009, including killings by the security services.

Fans Refuse To Attend Keri Hilson's Show In Abuja?

    
When I heard about Keri Hilson arriving Abuja for the face of Sofa Lounge show, I was surprised because I felt there wasn't enough  hype and publicity. However thinking more about it, I pushed the thoughts aside, concluding that there might have been, but I missed it.
Unfortunately, people present at the show taking place at the  International Conference Center report that it was an outright flop scantily attended, and sent me pictures showing how empty the hall was.

Ordinary ticket for the show cost N7500, VIP N20,000, VVIP N500,000. I would have loved to be there sha...scanty or not, I like "Miss Keri Baby"...*singing*...lool!

Police Kill 4 Suspected Robbers, Arrest 1 In Nasarawa

The Police in Nasarawa State on Saturday killed four armed robbery suspects that had been terrorising  motorists  plying the Abuja-Keffi-Akwanga road.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr Abayomi Akeremale, told t reporters in an interview, that the police over-powered the hoodlums and killed four of them during an exchange of fire. He said the police got wind of the robbers’ presence on the road through a distress call.

Akeremale said that one of the suspects had been arrested and was in police custody in Lafia, while two were at large. The commissioner said machinery had been set in motion to arrest other members of the gang. “The suspect has provided useful information about the whereabouts of the others.”

He said the police had been monitoring the Keffi-Abuja road following various complaints by motorists. “We have been receiving a lot of reports and complaints from  motorists and the State House of Assembly about the men of the underworld terrorising innocent citizens  along  Abuja-Keffi-Akwanga road.”

Akeremale said the command had deployed additional patrol teams in order to check crime in the area and the state in general. He thanked the government for providing the command with logistics such as patrol vehicles in order to curtail crime in the state.

Akeremale appealed to the people to give useful information to the police and other security agencies that would lead to the arrest of suspects in the area. He said that the police were on a 24-hour patrol in the state, adding: “there will be no hiding place for criminals in the state.’’

Sidhi Siddharth Sinune crawls behind the python and shrieks in delight as it weaves through her tiny legs.

While her parents are away working in the fields in a rural Indian village in Maharashtra, the baby girl pats the reptile and even playfully bites its tail.

The non-venomous snake could easily squeeze Sidhi to death or swallow her whole.

But her father, Siddharth Sinune, said he cannot afford to buy her toys – instead bringing home his prey from his job as a snake catcher.

Before putting them back in the forests, he keeps them at home for his only daughter’s amusement.

Siddharth said: ‘Sidhi has an unusual bonding with the snakes and surprisingly they too like to play with her.

‘Being a poor farmer, I can’t buy her costly toys but I can get her snakes to play with.
