Celebrities Behaving Badly: Peter, Paul, Jude Okoye What Exactly is the Point of Flaunting WADS OF US Dollars On Your Performance Trip to Rwanda?

Jude Okoye Flaunts Private Jet to Kigali Rwanda Celebrities Behaving Badly: Peter, Paul, Jude Okoye What Exactly is the Point of Flaunting WADS OF US Dollars On Your Performance Trip to Rwanda? This ‘Celebrities Behaving Badly’ feature could yield an even split with some saying “yes” and some saying “no” P-Square should/should not flaunt their wealth in this manner. You make your call. I’ll make mine at the end of this post.
In April of 2012, the recently turned 20year old Davido, a popular music executive, artist and the son of a filthy rich Nigerian business man, flaunted a 10Million Naira ($72,000 at the time) check he received on his twitter page. He also called it “change.” His actions caused an uproar on the social media platform that spilled onto print news paper distributed across Nigeria.
The response to his tweet was anything but nice. Many reminded him that he was in a country where majority barely survived on less than $2.00 a day. Ultimately, if memory serves me right, Davido apologized for the perceived insensitivity of his tweet and deleted that tweet.
P-Square (some of the hardest working musicians in the game who I believe deserve every blessing they get), were recently on their way to Kigali, Rwanda where they performed on 12/14/2012 to a huge audience. During their flight on a private jet to Rwanda, P-Square’s manager Jude Okoye had stacks of cash on his table. The money could have been for payment for their services, or what have you. Either way, an image of Jude was taken while on the private jet, with the wads of cash, and tweeted by Peter Okoye, ultimately, to the world.
Now, in fairness, P-Square have done many charitable works across Africa, albeit they are not as loud about it. In addition, just this year, Jude Okoye was kind enough to respond to a woman who was in dire need of medical aid but lacked the money to procure treatment. He donated a couple of millions(Naira), if memory serves me well, to help save the life of that young lady. So, these fellas make money but they also give back.
Nevertheless, I am wondering why Peter or whomever tweeted the picture with Jude with wads of US cash felt it was a good idea to share that particular image. From many angles, I fail to understand what the point was.
Question I have, is that ostentatiousness, especially the display of large wads of cash akeen to the insensitivity Davido showed with his display of 10Million Naira check?
Beyond it being very distracting from the trip to Rwanda, which is a big deal and the response and affection of the Rwanda people towards Nigeria and Nigerian music, I make the following observations:
1. Rwanda is bouncing back and waxing strong but we all know the history of that country;
2. Further, P-Square just came off a performance in Ghana were Ghanaian artists were allegedly upset that they were getting paid 3-4 times the amount offered to local artists such as Sarkodie to play in Ghana. In fact R2Bees pulled out of that Ghanaian concert. We’ve also seen artists in Cameroon have issues with the pay given to P-square at their own detriment. Should the Okoye camp show a bit more sensitivity to these existing facts?
3. P-Square, back in 2009, said they flaunt their wealth so young people can see they too can achieve it. However, is it a bit much at this point?
Peter, Paul, Jude, fellas, did we really need to see the perambulation of wads of US dollars on your private jet? What exactly is your point? What is there to prove? We know you are wealthy. Hello, you are on a private jet? Doesn’t that say it all? What exactly was the point of this Peter?
In my book, this tweeted image by Peter amounts to celebrities behaving badly and was impulsive. I find that truly wealthy people, in spirit and in number terms, hardly feel the need to do all that kind of “new wealth” display. The twins have been at it for a while. I’d think they are now used to this kind of lifestyle and money.
Some of you may disagree with my take. I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

Lack of INNOVATION Leads to STYL PLUS Breakup, Ex-Member Tunde Launches Solo Career as NATIVE BOY

Styl Plus Breaks Up Lack of INNOVATION Leads to STYL PLUS Breakup, Ex Member Tunde Launches Solo Career as NATIVE BOYI have read the news on a couple of media outlets, today, that Nigeria’s Boyz II Men like Styl Plus have finally pulled the plug as a  group and are going their separate ways. Truthfully, from my end, it is a big sigh of relief. I really liked these men and their songs. There was a time I could not go a day without listening to these very talented artists. I recall sharing their album with my girlfriends. They were and are still very talented. However,  even on a personal note, I’ve moved on where they insist on giving me only “Olufunmi” type music.
Professionally, every time I received their songs soliciting a feature on my platforms, I lacked the incentive to share because there was just something missing. Since my platforms tend to curate  content to be sure only the best is served, it meant I went on to the next artist. I recently finally figured out why I have passed up on the group for so long when I received the work of an artist featuring one of the Styl Plus artists. INNOVATION. Innovation and diversity of sound has been lacking for a long time with Styl Plus. They refuse to innovate. They refuse to experiment with new sounds, not the sound everyone is doing BUT new sound. Indeed, even D’Banj, in recent times, has shown us he can innovate and offer a diversity of sound, not Styl plus.
I hope as the trio pursue their individual careers, they can push past the routine/formula that was perfect back then but needs an overhaul in an ever evolving music industry.
Tunde, one of the group members, has already rebranded under the new name ‘Native Boy’ and is signed to his own self managed record label. I’ll wait to hear more from him in terms of a truly unique and diverse sound.
The Problem With STYL Plus
By Chiagoziem Onyekwena
the once-upon-a-time R&B giants have fallen out of favour with fans
In the Beginning…
They sounded like nothing Nigeria had ever heard before! With polished lyrics that masterfully married English language with our native tongues, finely textured voices seamlessly layered over sparkling instrumentals and powerful emotions that resonated through their sultry music, Tunde, Shifi & Zeal were a breath of air much fresher than a cold peppermint. If Olufunmi was a drug, then STYL Plus were the dealers and Nigerians were the helpless fiends; we were all hooked! And just when we were weaning off that medicine, they made us relapse with Runaway and then Call My Name and we suddenly found ourselves requiring Rehab to stay away from the rest of their intensely addictive music.
When the going was good…
Oh, it was very good! The trio immediately satisfied their growing followership by releasing an EP in 2003. It contained their hit ballads Olufunmi and Runaway amongst other singles and the crew followed the success of that release with their full length debut Expression (February 2006). Their hit streak continued with Imagine That, Iya Basira, Drives Me Crazy and Hadiza. The boys could do no wrong! Back then, a major concert was incomplete if STYL Plus was not on the bill. They shared stages with superstars like Boyz II Men, Wyclef Jean and Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
Okay so in the looks department, they weren’t exactly Africa’s answer to Brad Pitt, and their music videos looked like they were directed by Stevie Wonder. But Nigerians fell in love with STYL Plus’ music first and foremost- everything else was secondary. Their fan base extended well beyond these borders, they had hoards of loyal fans in Ghana, South Africa, Liberia, Gambia, Sierra Leone and the group were the darling of Nigerians in the Diaspora. The African kingmakers soon took notice; the group took home a Kora Award and in 2005; they also won the coveted Channel O award.
And then it’s all gone…
More of gradual decline than a sudden degradation; as 2007 came along, STYL Plus was visibly struggling to maintain her momentum. First, chinks in their armour began to appear when reports in the media suggested that the gross earnings from Expressions audio and video compilation CDs didn’t quite match the expectations of Astro Media Limited, the media marketing company that supported the project. Then over a period of roughly 18 months, nationwide tours and shows overseas gradually reduced in frequency and the African giants shrunk to become mere Abuja legends, slowly transitioning from headlining major nationwide concerts, to performing as add-ons at low profile gigs and then to basically nothing at all. In a bid to stem the malaise, the group released a follow up to their debut album titled Back and Better (May 2008) but by that time, people were already switching off. Promoters were switching off, marketers were switching off, show sponsors were switching off, mass media were switching off and saddest of all, the fans were switching off. The album had minimal publicity and amassed the group’s worst sales total yet. The album was also panned by critics and rather than heralding the return of the kings of African R&B, it only further distanced them away from their own throne.
But where did they go wrong?
Unconfirmed internal dissatisfaction within the (seemingly) tightly-knit clan; change of priorities by the group members; reduction in the quality of music output, following music trends as opposed to the time when they were setting them; an inept artiste management team that struggled to cope with the challenges of the group’s sudden rise; inability of the crew to parlay their popularity into a formidable brand; their preference for residing in (Federal capital Territory) Abuja rather than the entertainment hub of Africa; Lagos, inability to build allegiances and establish strong friendships within the industry and ultimately poor vision. The trio seemed to be suffering, but somehow suffering in silence. It’s hard to believe that just three years ago, 2face Idibia, P Square and STYL Plus belonged to the same league . It is really hard to believe. . .”

Naeto C Beats Up Blogger At DJ Neptunes’ Wedding

For those who witnessed this show of shame by popular Nigerian rapper, Naetochuckwu Chikwe otherwise known as Naeto C, at the wedding reception of DJ Neptunes, formerly with Raypower FM, held at the City Hall, Lagos Island, surprise and eyesore were words they used in describing how the son of a former Aviation Minister, Kema Chikwe descended himself low like a street urchin.
photo
Eyewitnesses described Naeto C as Oshodi area boys especially with the way he reportedly torn the cloth of a popular blogger with Sturvs Media identified as Lewis Grant, who is the Vice President, Business Development, Sturvs Media Ltd.
Lewis was said to have mistakenly stepped on Nicole Chukwueke, Naeto C’s wife’s dress, who was standing right behind Lewis along with her husband, Naeto C while he (Lewis) was taking pictures of DJ Neptunes and his wife at the reception.
Probably to show to his wife how caring he is and how he can fight for her, Naeto C was reported to have pushed Lewis and commanded him to get away from his presence.
The eyewitness, who narrated this story said that Lewis reportedly told Naeto C not to command him like a boy. This statement by Lewis to Naeto C landed him (Lewis) a ‘special gold medal’; ‘a hot slap’ on his face.
One of the eyewitnesses that Naeto C didn’t stop there as he reportedly took his fight with this blogger further by tearing Lewis’ shirt. Soon, some military men reportedly joined in giving Lewis the beating of his life until one of Lewis’ aunties at the party intervened.
It was learnt that the military men barred people from taking pictures while Naeto C was busy flexing his muscles with Lewis.

(Photo) Oh Damn!! Tyga Gets In A BAD Accident & Crashes His Lamborghini!

Earlier this morning, Tyga got in a pretty bad accident – luckily it wasn’t fatal. Looking at the picture it seems as if he swerved off the road (hopefully not drunk driving), but is grateful for his life. His car looks like it fell off the road and into a desert, where he was probably running and early morning race or more likely.. shooting a music video. Thankfully, the Compton rapper was wearing a seat belt, captioning the photo, “Just crashed my lambo. Thank God for the seatbelt!” is safe. But the car? Not so good. All that matters is that he’s okay! See how bad the accident looked by the photo he instagram’d earlier, in the gallery!

Spanish Police Arrests A Lady With Cocaine Implanted In Her Breast

breast implants
Police and Immigration officers around the world may start having to feel women’s breasts during airport checks as a woman has proven drugs could be transported through implants.
Spanish police on Wednesday arrested a Panamanian woman who landed in Barcelona from Bogota, Colombia with cocaine stuffed inside her breast implants.
The woman was taken to the police at Barcelona’s El Prat airport after her vague answers to questions about the reasons for her trip from Bogota raised suspicion at the border control, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
Spanish authorities carry out rigorous checks of passengers arriving on so-called “hot flights” from Latin America, to fight drug smuggling.
When border police discovered fresh scars and blood-stained gauze on the woman’s chest she was taken to a nearby hospital to check her claim that she had recently undergone breast implant surgery.
The implants were found to carry 1.38 kg of Cocaine.

Pastor Commissions Man To Behead Corpse For N6000

        Human head for N6,000
A man simply identified as Iku Monday by residents of Sabo area of Abeokuta, Ogun State, is still being quizzed by the police for allegedly beheading dead woman (names withheld) after exhuming her corpse from a grave in her husband’s building site. Checks by Sunday Sun revealed that on August 18 this year, Mr. Abiodun, husband of Monday’s victim, contracted Monday to clear a plot of land belonging to him on the outskirts of Sabo for a fee.

On the site was a grave of his (Abiodun’s) second wife, who died recently of complications following delivery of her baby. Sunday Sun also authoritatively gathered that trouble started when a resident simply identified as Mr. Akpan allegedly spotted Iku Monday while exhuming and beheading the corpse of the dead woman. Akpan then raised the alarm, alerting the neighbourhood of the dastardly act by Monday and in no time a crowd gathered to ‘arrest’ Monday.

They reportedly swooped on him but he escaped. The mob gave a hot chase and eventually caught and stripped him naked, clubbing the daylight out of him, while demanding an explanation for desecrating act. After much battering, Monday allegedly confessed that he was commissioned by a white garment pastor (names withheld), who owns a “mission house” in a village called Oloomore in Ayetoro area of Abeokuta. He alleged that the said cleric gave him N6,000 to get him the head of a dead person.  His words, “Please, be lenient with me.

I was asked to do this by a white garment cleric. He paid me N6,000 for the job. I have been searching for a corpse’s head before Mr. Abiodun contracted me to clear this site, and when I discovered a grave on the site, and was sure it was recently dug, I decided to exhume the corpse and behead her. I didn’t know it was Oga Abiodun’s wife.  If you spare my life, I will take you to the cleric, but not in this naked condition, I would have to put on my clothes so the cleric will recognize me.” As others were bent on lynching Monday, elders intervened and pleaded with the mob to allow Monday lead them to the cleric.

Iku Monday then took the mob to the outskirts of Sabo, a place called Oloomore, on Sanni Road in Ayetoro area of Ogun State. On getting to the cleric’s place, a drama first played out in the shanty that could only be described as a pigsty. Persons suspected to be worshippers or members of a religious sect promptly took to their heels as soon as they spotted a crowd approaching with Iku Monday.

The makeshift shanty has no proper roofing, only a brownish mosquito net hung over it. There was no furniture of any kind to give the place the appearance of a ‘home’.   Sunday Sun discovered fetish materials such as the horns of a ram wrapped with red and black clothes, carved wooden images of a man and woman tied together with sacks, and a cock in a basket with its legs bound. These and many other items hard to describe in print were found in the place.

The cleric denied Monday’s allegation, saying he had never set eyes on him before. His words, “He is a liar o. I don’t know him from Adam. He is an agent of the devil brought to destroy my ministry. They have failed spiritually, now they are combating me physically.” But residents of Ayetoro, especially the cleric’s neighbours, told Sunday Sun they had always suspected the cleric.

“When he first came to this place, he always carried one fetish sacrifice or the other to three-way junctions in this area. We have often wondered if he is truly a man of God as he professes. How can a man of God be involved in fetish things?” Elder Kasumu, a resident of the area, said. Unmoved by the ‘pastor’s denial, the mob took Monday and his ‘client’ to the Sabo Police Station to face the law.

Gaga!!! Singer Spotted With Outlandish Head Cage And Nails

Cage fight: Lady Gaga leaves her New York hotel on Saturday wearing a cage-like headpiece
The singer stepped out of her Newyork hotel yesterday in this cage head piece which reminds me of the mask worn by fictional character, "Hannibal".
Also on 12.12.12, Gaga was sighted with weird eye catching nails. See more pictures when you continue.

Is this one of them? The singer's creative director Nicola Formichetti said this week he, 'regrets some of Gaga's looks. But she works it... mostly'Not so sure: The Born This Way singer did not seem entirely comfortable in her outfit
Don't laugh: The 26-year-old pointed to fans as she walked to her car

26 year old Stefani Germanotta aka Gaga obviously has no plan to quit her crazy fashion anytime soon.

I Am Not Yet A Father, I Have No Child- Wizkid

In a recent interview with Sunday Sun, singer Wizkid denied fathering a child. Excerpts:

Sometime ago you were caught up in a love child controversy and after a while we didn’t hear anything about that again. So, are you a dad?

That story was false and there was no truth in it.

So, you are saying  you have no child?

No there is none.

It will be recalled that sometime last year, word came out that Wizkid had fathered a child. Although the singer didn't make any attempt at denying or confirming the story, I remember him tweeting about humans making mistakes around the time when the news broke, which led many to believe that the tales were indeed true. Also a picture surfaced recently on the internet, showing Wizkid's child and baby mama. The singer has now officially denied it all as rumors

TRAGIC PHOTOS: Scenes of terror and grief at the US primary school shooting

In what is being described as the worst school shooting tragedy in America, yesterday, a lone gunman identified as 20-year-old, Adam Lanza, entered a US primary school, Sandy Hook Elemetary School on a rampage killing 26 people before turning the gun on himself. 20 of his victims were children. This tragedy has brought America, its President, and the world to tears.

Dad Stephen Delgiadice said his 8-year-old daughter, who escaped unharmed, reported hearing two big bangs before teachers told her to get in a corner. "It's alarming, especially in Newtown, Connecticut, which we always thought was the safest place in America," he said. Twenty children were killed by the rampage; 18 were found deceased at the scene, 2 died at local hospitals. President Obama spoke to the nation and through his tears, he hit on the fact that while many children survived the attack, their innocence has been taken away from them far too early.

Terrified children told news reporters they heard the gunshots as their teachers hustled them to safety. Amazing stories of courage and bravery from the elementary school staff are emerging as more children recount their terrifying morning inside the school.

President Obama addressed the nation in an emotional press conference on Dec. 14, 2012. As he usually does, the President spoke as an American and a parent. "They had their entire lives ahead of them – birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own," he said as he fought back tears. "I know there's not a parent in America who doesn't feel the same overwhelming grief that I do."

The shooting has claimed the lives of close to 30 children and teachers, making it one of the deadliest mass shootings in the history of the United States.
