Playing dead saved my life: 32-year-old woman stalked and beaten to a pulp by abusive ex after she walked out

When 32-year-old Grace Nyaguthii walked out on an abusive relationship and took her four-year-old son with her, she never expected to find herself in a hospital, with eyes swollen shut. She wrote;
"It wasn’t the first time; I had left before, but was sweet-talked into returning. I did so mainly because of our child. I did not want my son to grow up without a father. But the breaking point came when I realised there was more harm being done when I saw he was fearful in his own home. But leaving hardly ever gives one a clean break." she narrates from her bed at Nairobi Women's Hospital.

Weeks, months, and even years later, Grace was still dealing with her ex, who was still calling her and showing up at the places she would go.

Playboy model Katie May died after chiropractor 'tore open artery while manipulating' neck injury she incurred on photoshoot

Gone too soon: Playboy model Katie May (above), 34, passed away in February

The death of a popular Playboy model was brought on by a 'neck manipulation by chiropractor' after she suffered an injury during a photo shoot.
Katie May fell during a shoot in Los Angeles earlier this year and was later taken to the hospital for neck pain but released later that day.
The 34-year-old, whose popularity earned her the title 'Queen of Snapchat' from Playboy, was still in pain when she posted this message to her Twitter: 'Pinched a nerve in my neck on a Photoshoot and got adjusted this morning. It really hurts! Any home remedy suggestions loves? XOXO.'
It seems that the trip to her chiropractor to fix things only made it worse though according to TMZ, and ultimately led to her death after a tear to an artery in her neck stopped the flow of blood to her brain.
The single mom left behind a seven-year-old daughter Mia.
Her death has been ruled an accident, and it is not known if her family plans to pursue legal action against the chiropractor.

Fairoaks plane crash
A brand new private jet crash landed in a field next to Fairoaks Airport in Surrey
These dramatic pictures show how two pilots were lucky to escape with their lives after a brand new private jet crash-landed next to an airport.
Two people were on board the plane when it came down in the field next to Fairoaks Airport in Surrey and narrowly missed some large trees.
Emergency services rushed to the scene following the crash at 8.35am yesterday.
One of the fire officers in charge of the incident, Graham Whitfield from Woking Fire Station said the pilot and co-pilot on board were "lucky" to have narrowly missed three established oak trees in the field.

Tinder culture has taken over, and now it's killing retail

Women going shopping
Tinder culture has changed how we date, and now it's changing how we shop.
The dating app encourages browsing over emotional investment by presenting users with an endless array of potential partners to consider while requiring very little up-front work or commitment to establish a "match."
Just a swipe right (a sign of interest) or a swipe left (a rejection) will do.
Even when you swipe right, another new face immediately appears on your screen — providing a sense that there is always potential for an equal or better dating option within the next couple swipes.
Likewise, the highly promotional environment in retail today has given shoppers a sense that there's always going to be another, possibly better deal down the road. This has led to a sharp decline in brand loyalty, which is a nightmare for retailers.
It has also diminished the significance of traditional shopping holidays like Black Friday. Why save purchases for Black Friday when retailers are offering "Black Friday in July" and other steep discounts year-round?

I was made to sign a confessional statement at gunpoint- Justice Adeniyi Ademola says

Justice Adeniyi Ademola who was among the judges that were arrested and detained last Saturday by agents of the Department of State Security, says he was made to sign a confessional statement at the DSS office with a gun pointed at him.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Ademola alleged that the sting operation carried out by DSS at his home in Abuja, was a personal vendetta against him masterminded by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.

According to Justice Ademola, Malami is trying to get at him because while he was serving as a Federal judge in Kano between 2004-2008, he ordered the arrest of Malami for being involved in professional misconduct. In the letter addressed to the CJN, Justice Ademola stated that the DSS operatives held guns to his head to sign a document detailing items allegedly found in his house as well as confessional statements.

DSS in a statement released after the arrest of the seven judges in various parts of the country, stated that it recovered over N362 million during the operation. The arrest and detention involved two Supreme Court justices, Sylvester Ngwuta and Inyang Okoro, and two judges of the Federal High Court, Ademola (Abuja Division) and Muazu Pindiga (Gombe Division), was widely criticised.

'Extremely violent' British tourist found naked and 'looking like a zombie' in Ibiza HAD taken dangerous new drug

An "extremely violent" naked British tourist found wandering around Ibiza "looking like a zombie" had taken a dangerous new designer drug, it has been confirmed.
The Brit, who has never been identified, was arrested by police because of his aggressive behaviour and " violent attitude to people who crossed his path".
He was found between the hotel Piscis Park and the bus station in the popular resort of San Antonio.
Officers had to restrain him with handcuffs before putting him into an ambulance and taking him to hospital.
Police suspected he had taken Flakka which produces euphoria, sexual arousal, panic attacks, paranoia and large doses of aggression and tests showed this was the case.
This has now been confirmed by doctors after they presented drug figures for Ibiza's summer season.

Hillary Clinton should accept Donald Trump's drug-test challenge

trump clinton debate

evidence — that Hillary Clintonmay have been on drugs at the second debate, and he proposed that drug tests should be required before the next debate.
"I'm willing to do it," he said of mandatory pre-debate drug testing.
Clinton should take him up on the offer.
You may remember former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean got in some trouble for suggesting Trump might have a cocaine problem after he sniffled his way through the first debate. Not unreasonably, Trump's supporters complained that this was a baseless accusation.

San Antonio cops will be punished for wearing 'Make America Great Again' hats with Donald Trump

MANDATORY CREDIT

A gaggle of cops in San Antonio will be punished after being caught sporting Donald Trump hats while escorting the presidential candidate to the airport on Tuesday.
At least 15 uniformed, on-duty cops with the San Antonio Police Department motorcycle unit in Texas violated the city’s policy by wear the flashy “Make America Great Again” hats, Police Chief William McManus said in a statement.
"The officers wearing the campaign hats while in uniform violated SAPD policy and will be disciplined appropriately,” McManus wrote. “SAPD officers are charged with protecting the entire community. The officers displayed poor judgment. I expect them to know better than to give the appearance of endorsing a candidate while on duty and in uniform, regardless of the political campaign or the candidate."

Foreign spies hacked an Australian government agency

Foreign spies installed malicious software on an Australian government agency's computer system, stealing an unknown number of documents, an official report revealed Wednesday, stopping short of naming the country involved.
The security breach on the Bureau of Meteorology's system, which has connections to the defence department, was detected in 2015 and initial media reports linked it to China.
China has previously been accused of hacking websites run by the US government and by private firms. In 2013 Chinese hackers were accused of stealing the top-secret blueprints of Australia's new intelligence agency headquarters.

Turkish man kills himself live on Facebook after girlfriend dumps him (video )

An absolute horrific 40 seconds video was streamed online yesterday, October 10, showing a heartbroken Turkish man shoot himself live on Facebook after getting dumped by girlfriend.

Erdogan Ceren who is only just 22 year old, held a camera alongside a short gun to his chest saying no one believed him, when he said he was going to take his own life, and eventually shot himself.

Before killing himself, Erdogan had initially documented his shattered emotions online, with one of his post on Facebook saying: 'Feeling broken' along with the words, 'Our love saga would be written, ‘Behold, the eyes would not cry, half of you is going to tell you now, my hands do without that side.'

'I've felt like murdering for a while': Schoolgirl, 14, who 'helped her boyfriend stab to death a dinner lady and her daughter, 13, wanted to do it by herself but the smell of their blood put her off'

Tributes to the two victims have been left at the scene. Ms Edwards, described as 'happy and smiling' by parents at the primary school where she worked

A schoolgirl accused of helping her boyfriend knife a dinner lady and her 13-year-old daughter to death later told police she had 'felt like murdering for quite a while'.
The teenager, aged 14 at the time, said the killings 'just sort of happened' despite it being alleged the couple planned them at a McDonald's restaurant the night before.
Jurors heard that in a police interview the girl told officers she had wanted to murder Elizabeth and Katie Edwards herself, but she was put off by the smell of their blood.
She added: 'A gun would have been easier but we don't have any really in this country... the knife was a better solution.'
A court heard she reached out to grab the hand of Ms Edwards, 49, as her teenage boyfriend held a pillow over the church-goer's face. He had stabbed the mother in the neck and there were blood splatters up the wall, jurors were told.

The bodies of 49-year-old dinner lady Elizabeth Edwards and her 13-year-old daughter Katie, (both pictured in 2014) were found at an address in Spalding, Lincolnshire, on April 15 this year
