The violence erupted just after 2 a.m. in a building on Lenox Ave. near W. 115th St.

The 38-year-old mom was stabbed in the chest, and her 21-year-old daughter suffered wounds to the chest and one arm.
Paramedics took the two women to Mt. Sinai St. Luke’s Hospital, where the mom could not be saved. Her daughter was listed in stable condition early Tuesday.
The woman now held by cops has not been charged.

Sex festival is forced to shut down early because too many people arrived to try out virtual reality porn

Out of hand: Google searches for virtual reality porn have shot up by 10,000 percent in the last 20 months and the popularity was evident as dozens of eager fans got turned away amid fears of a riot
A Japanese sex festival was over prematurely as herds of virtual porn fans caused overcrowding fears.
Streams of locals were looking to get their hands on the latest inventions from the adult entertainment industry in the first festival of its kind - the Adult VR Fest 01 in the Akihabara region of Tokyo.
But fans of virtual reality porn, which re-enacts sex and other acts using a blend of simulation headsets, male-friendly sex toys and other gadgets, were left disappointed as the event was shut down due to unprecedented popularity.

Surgeons used cartilage from his chest to grow the new nose on his forehead. It was then transplanted into position on his face
A 12-year-old boy who lost his nose to a severe infection was able to grow another one - on his forehead.
Indian doctors performed the remarkable procedure on Arun Patel whose nose had disappeared after the tissue shrivelled and died following treatment by rogue doctors when he was a baby.
Village doctors, with no medical training, administered injections to his face when he was just one month old, causing the tissue to die and drop off.
But thanks to unusual plastic surgery, the boy, from Indore, had a nose reconstructed on his forehead before it was transplanted into place.
Speaking to MailOnline, Dr Ashwini Dash, who led the surgical team said the procedure involved several stages.

Chris Evans QUITS Top Gear on record low audience - just hours after police revealed he WILL be investigated for 'sexually assaulting and flashing at woman in the 1990s'

Chris Evans' Top Gear ends series with a record low audience

Chris Evans has sensationally announced he is quitting Top Gear just hours after police revealed he will be investigated over allegations he sexually assaulted a woman in the 1990s.
The presenter, 50, revealed on Twitter that he would not be returning to the revamped motoring programme, after the series ended with a record low audience as fewer than two million people tuned in.
He wrote: 'Stepping down from Top Gear. Gave it my best shot but sometimes that's not enough. The team are beyond brilliant, I wish them all the best.'
Evans added: 'Full steam ahead then with Radio 2, CarFest, Children In Need, 500 Words and whatever else we can dream up in the future.'
The shock announcement that Evans is to quit the show after just one series came just hours after the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement that a woman had made an allegation of 'non-recent sexual assault, said to have taken place in the Tower Hamlets area of London in the 1990s.
In a statement, he added: 'I have never worked with a more committed and driven team than the team I have worked with over the last 12 months. I feel like my standing aside is the single best thing I can now do to help the cause.
'I remain a huge fan of the show, always have been, always will be. I will continue to focus on my radio show and the allied events that it encompasses.'
Mark Linsey, director of BBC Studios, said: 'Chris is stepping down from his duties on Top Gear. He says he gave it his best shot doing everything he could to make the show a success.

Inside Swingfields sex festival where 700 horny guests enjoyed weekend of debauchery in quiet Welsh village

Swingfields

With festival season well and truly upon us, tents are popping up in fields across the UK as thousands gather to celebrate music, film...and sex.
And these are the pictures taken inside Britain's most debauched festival -Swingfields - one of Europe's biggest al fresco sex gatherings, according to organisers.
More than 700 people descended on the quiet village of Trellech in Wales last weekend to enjoy the sights and sounds of the event.
Organisers of the three-day festival, with tickets priced between £55 and £180, kept the location secret until just a few days before it began last Thursday.
But visitors to the event have described the scenes as randy visitors got down and dirty in tents, hot tubs and outdoors while others watched.

A common job-interview question about money is a trap, and you should never answer it directly

Don't blow your chance at a higher salary.
One of the most awkward questions you can be asked in a job interview is "What are your salary requirements?" or "How much are you making in your current job?"
As in many uncomfortable situations, your immediate reaction may be to immediately give an answer, stating how much you make and then explaining what range you'd be looking for in this job.
It's a trap, argues Ramit Sethi, the bestselling personal-finance writer and teacher. In a recent episode of "The Tim Ferriss Show" podcast, Ferriss highlights several of Sethi's lessons that are hosted on CreativeLive, an online classroom company Ferriss works with.
When experienced hiring managers hear a direct answer to that salary question, Sethi says, they immediately think, "OK, gotcha." Because, for example, maybe they were willing to offer you $90,000. But when they hear you were making $60,000, they'll know they won't have to let go of as much of the company's money to appeal to you.

During a recent visit to the UK, President Barack Obama gave British Prime Minister David Cameron a gift: a custom-made Shinola watch with the presidential seal engraved on the back.
It's no surprise that Obama would give Cameron a Shinola - after all, he's a known fan of the company, and has declared it a symbol of American manufacturing bringing jobs back to the US.
And it's true: Shinola makes a high-quality, handsome watch, and it's one of only a few companies currently assembling watches in the US.
The Detroit-based brand has cultivated a cachet among consumers who are looking for a nice watch, but who aren't willing or able to shell out the coin required for a high-end Swiss brand like Rolex.

Angry man burns his ex-wife's car and his own house after being denied a chance to see his child

A 29-year-old old man burnt his ex-wife's car and also burnt down his own house yesterday night, July 3 at Balai Panjang, Malaysia, after a demand to see his child was rejected.

The man had faced the court earlier in February for a previous incident of physically abusing his ex-wife. It is believed that last night, he had asked to see their child and when the request was denied, he decided to vent his fury on the ex-wife.

First, the man burnt his ex-wife's Mitsubishi Pajero, which was parked near a petrol station along the Alor Gajah-Melaka Tengah-Jasin (AMJ) expressway. Later, he waited for his the occupants of his home to leave before he set his own house on fire.

Firemen, who had just finished extinguishing the burning vehicle near the petrol station, were summoned yet again to the same location in under 10 minutes to tackle the fire at the man's home. The man was arrested on the spot by the police.

Richard Branson calls out Roman Abramovich for his 'lavish spending'

British billionaire businessman, Richard Branson, 65, says it makes him 'sad' to see the super rich spending lavishly without thinking of the poor. Speaking in the upcoming issue of Collective Hub, he took a swipe at Chelsea FC owner, Roman Abramovich.
'I think it’s sad when people make a lot of money and they want the biggest boat or the biggest car or the biggest plane,' Branson said.
