Its report said 50g of processed meat a day - less than two slices of bacon - increased the chance of developing colorectal cancer by 18%.
Meanwhile, it said red meats were "probably carcinogenic" but there was limited evidence.
But the WHO said meat did also have health benefits.

Powerful Hurricane Patricia Hits Mexico's Pacific Coast
PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Hurricane Patricia, one of the most powerful storms on record, struck Mexico's Pacific coast on Friday with destructive winds that tore down trees, moved cars and forced thousands of people to flee homes and beachfront resorts.
Hours after making landfall, the storm weakened but still packed winds of 130 miles per hour (210 km per hour). There were no reported casualties and officials said the damage might not be as catastrophic as feared.
ISIS terrorists exploiting migrant crisis by 'recruiting refugees from asylum camps in Europe'
ISIS extremists have been spotted attempting to recruit refugees from asylum camps in Europe, police have said.
Supporters of the Islamic terrorist monsters were spotted chatting to Syrians at an asylum centre in Oslo, Norway.
Authorities have already registered concerns that, given their desperate situation, refugees may be vulnerable to radicalisation as they flee towards European cities.
A spokesman for the Norwegian Police Security Service said: "We have seen signs that extreme Islamists have approached the reception centres and asylum seekers.
"They have been there to get contacts.
A hacker has figured out how to hack into internet-connected kettles and steal passwords
A security researcher has demonstrated how to hack into a kettle and steal a home's Wi-Fi password, The Register reports.
Ken Munro looked for iKettle customers in London, and found lots of people tweeting about how much they love their connected kettle.
Munro was able to research where iKettle customers live, and could use a special antenna to take over a kettle.
It would only take around four hours to crack the kettle's password, and then he could control the kettle, and also find the home's Wi-Fi password.
The Android iKettle app is the biggest security flaw, since it keeps the kettle's password as the default value. But the iOS version of the app sets a six-digit code that can still be broken into.
Wi-Fi kettles aren't the only thing in your kitchen that's going to be connected to the internet.Payments company Visa told Business Insider in March that internet-connected fridges are going to be increasingly popular.
"Your fridge will have a payment capability," Visa exec Jonathan Vaux said. "People are immediately associating [Samsung Pay] with the phone, but they're the biggest provider of white goods and so I will have a fridge, I'm sure, that will have connected payments in it."
Four women accused of witchcraft are stripped, tied up and burned by angry mob
Horrifying footage has emerged showing four women suspected of witchcraft being tortured, stripped, tied up and burned by an angry mob in Papua New Guinea.
The women were accused of sorcery after a young man fell ill in a village in Enga province in August.
Social media posts said the women were accused of “invisibly” taking the man’s heart, and then putting it back after they were tortured. In their attackers’ eyes this would also prove their guilt as sorcerers.

FUTURE’S DRUG ADDICTION IS KILLING HIM & WE LOVE IT
This wasn’t a song meant to scorch the roofs of clubs, it felt too personal, like a drug-induced confession, his introspective stream-of-consciousness reveals two distorting realities, one full of celebration and the other haunted by self-destruction. The hazy production is entrancing, Future sounds both lively and sinking into despair, counting his blessing and naming his demons, he fills each verse with layers of his rambunctious lifestyle from sex with strippers and expensive purchases to admitting that he’s an addict drowning in Actavis.
I couldn’t get enough, playing it again and again feeling partially guilty that one man’s sorrow could be such a great song.
RICK ROSS I SQUASHED THE BEEF Between Meek Mill & Wale
Well, that was quick ... Rick Ross says the war between Meek Mill and Wale is OVER -- and they're gonna prove it by coming together on a new album.
In a video statement to 3m360, Ross says he's "happy" to address the beef between the two rappers signed to his MMG label -- which blew up after Wale went on "The Breakfast Club"
and said Meek "brought a pencil to a gunfight" during his battle with Drake.
"Young Meek Mill, Young Wale .. family good, ya dig?! Ya'll know how I do it."
Ross says he'll show the world that the hatchet is buried when he drops "Self Made Vol. 4" -- a collaborative album featuring the entire MMG roster.
No word on when it's gonna drop -- but at this point, the sooner the better ... and we can't wait to hear what they're gonna say.
