TRAGEDY IN EDO STATE,Two die as 7 female students fall into well in Ekpoma this morning

Tragedy struck early this morning at the Ambrose Ali University, Ekpoma, after seven female students fell into a well located inside one of the hostels inside the school compound while fetching water and doing other things around the well.

According to eye witnesses, three girls were washing on top of the well, which is the hostel's only source of water, while the remaining four were sitting on its top, when all of a sudden the well collapsed beneath them. All seven girls fell into the well.

Other students around the hostel when the incident occurred rescued 6 of the alive. Unfortunately one died inside the well. Another one died on the way to the hospital. The remaining five are receiving treatment at the hospital.

Well in 2012? What a shame! RIP to the girls!

Brits Held in Peru Over 30kg Cocaine Haul

Police in Peru have said that three Britons and three Italians are among 27 suspects arrested this month after a huge haul of cocaine was seized.

Police said the British suspects were detained along with a Peruvian woman on Thursday as they allegedly tried to smuggle 30kgs of cocaine to the UK on a sailing boat, reports Sky News.

Some of the drugs were seized from the vessel's fuel tanks after it was intercepted leaving the Yacht Club de la Punta Callao, authorities said.

The Italian trio were arrested in Lima earlier this week for possession of cocaine and ecstasy.

Police claimed they belonged to a gang called "The Bambinos".

National Police director Raul Salazar said 1 ton of drugs had already been seized in operations this month.

He said the arrests showed his officers were effectively disrupting the "international tentacles" involved in the country's illegal drug trade.

Peruvian authorities said that between January and March of this year they had detained 3,013 people across the country in 3,025 operations.

Six hundred and fifty three were detained for trafficking, 351 for selling small amounts and 2009 for using drugs.

The South American country is one of the world's top drug producers.

29-Year-Old Maths Teacher Found On Top Of 7-Year-Old Female Pupil In School Toilet

A shameless 29-year-old Mathematics and Social Studies graduate of a college of education, Mr. Seun Oyeleke, has been caught pants down with a seven-year-old female pupil in a school toilet.

Oyeleke teaches at a private nursery and primary school on Church Street, Osogbo, Osun State.

One of the pupils' mother, Mrs. A Ajiboye, had been informed by her son, who attends Oyeleke's tutorials with her five-year-old sister, that the teacher was fond of taking the girl out of the classroom to an unknown destination.

"I told my brother, who is a policeman, and he urged me to be patient. My brother then devised a plan with which we caught the teacher," she said.

Ajiboye told her son that whenever the teacher took her sister out, he should run home and inform her immediately.

But on Saturday, Oyeleke took another girl to the toilet on the school premises and the boy quickly dashed home to inform her mother.

The mother rushed to the school, where he found the teacher on a seven-year-old inside the toilet.

Narrating the incident to PUNCH Metro on Tuesday, Ajiboye said, "When my children were leaving for the tutorials on Saturday morning, I told my son to rush back home whenever the teacher takes any girl to the toilet.

"At about 11:30am, my son rushed in to inform me that he had taken another girl out, I quickly rushed to the school, went to the toilet and forced the door open, I met him on top of the little child.

"I was very furious and I began to shout and wail. I called on neighbours to come and see what was happening. He was subsequently taken to Dugbe Police Station in Osogbo."

"He took me to the bathroom in the building and removed my pant and lay on me and later asked me to wear my pant back and return to the class," the little girl said.

At the police station, the teacher pleaded, "Please, spare me; I didn't know what came over me. The effect of what I did just dawned on me. I did not rape them. I only had sex with them. It's the devil's work."

But the proprietress of the school, Mrs. Amoke Alao, denied insinuations by neighbours that the teacher was notorious for sleeping with minors.

Dr. Dre Set to Produce Film Thaw

Dr. Dre appears to be busy with just about anything that is not his long-delayed album Detox.

The good doctor is set to co-produce Thaw, a horror thriller that will be released through his own Crucial Films, according to Variety.Vik Weet will be writing the script and the story will be about an "ancient evil that emerges from the rapidly melting ice in the Yukon."

Thaw will be the first release under Crucial Films, which Dre and his partner Daniel Schnider launched back in 2007.

This is not Dre's first time around the silver screen, but much like dropping an album, it has been a while.He appeared in the 1996 action film Set It Off and in 2001 he starred along side Snoop Dogg in the comedy The Wash, which features cameos from Ludacris and Shaquille O'Neal.

That same year, Dre had a part in Training Day which gave Denzel Washington an Academy Award for his lead in the crime drama.

The Doc has been keeping busy lately, in addition to expanding into movies, recently signing former XXL Freshman Kendrick Lamar to his Aftermath imprint.

Tyga Talks About Nebraska Shooting

Tyga called in to 3m360 to speak on the shooting that occurred at his concert in Omaha, Nebraska on Monday (March 19). The "Rack City" MC gave host Yesi Ortiz his side of the story, saying the incident was caused by his refusal to let a local act open for him.

"It was some people that were supposed to perform," explained Tyga. "Like some local opening acts and I told 'em they couldn't perform because it's a tour, I don't want no local opening acts performing. That's what y'all seen on YouTube."

The Young Money rapper was referring to YouTube footage that surfaced after the concert, which showed him screaming into the crowd after having debris thrown on stage during his set. After confronting the culprits with an expletive-laden rant, Tyga invited them to "meet me outside" as his DJ played gunshot sound effects over the sound system.

"On some real **** you can meet me outside," yelled Tyga from the stage. "I'ma do this one more motherfuckin song for my fans and then I'ma go outside," he said before launching into his Billboard smash "Rack City."

The police report states that a black four-door sedan followed Tyga's tour van as it pulled away from the venue. Officers observed several bullet holes in the van but only two members of the "Careless World" MCs crew were struck. Female MC Honey Cocaine was hit in the arm and taken to Creighton University Medical Center. The second victim was Derrick Lowe, who was grazed in the hip and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Tyga assured Ortiz that Honey Cocaine was OK and their tour would continue as planned.

"We got a show tonight in Albuquerque, so we on our way there now," said the "Careless World" MC

Homosexuality In Ghana: Senior High Schools – The Real Hotspots?
Homosexuality appears to have become the latest plague our society has to deal with. The undeniable fact is that there are gays and lesbians in Ghana. There are also some bisexuals (that is those who engage in sexual acts with people of the same gender as well as people of the opposite gender).

I, however, cannot say if there are any Ghanaian transsexuals (people who have done surgical operations to change their gender, i.e either from male to female, female to male). Under the frame of human and civil rights, advocacy for homosexuality and lesbianism is quickly gaining grounds. And through what may be described as notoriety, striving for legitimacy. This has sparked debates in several quarters.

I, however, wonder why it has taken us this long to begin to speak about the issue of homosexuality more openly. Especially considering that it is not a new phenomenon.

When did homosexuality and lesbianism become known in Ghana?

As I have already noted above this is certainly not a new phenomenon. Preceding the arrest of John Macleod, a British national in 2007 for homosexual acts with a nineteen year old Ghanaian teenager1, there had been similar reports in the mid/late 90s by newspapers such as P&P. In that instance too it was news of a foreign national sodomizing Ghanaian boys who were much younger. It will however be inaccurate to conclude that these marked the beginning of homosexuality in Ghana. I wonder if reference can be made to any one particular occasion or period.

That leaves us to wonder when this really started and how it started. Nevertheless, it is common knowledge that in senior secondary schools, though not tolerated and often sanctioned severely, such acts were and are still common albeit clandestinely. Historically, it is students who have been noted for this. Thus making the case involving the math tutor in Adisadel 2a new trend, so to speak. Primarily, I write of the situation as it pertains to students. Gay and lesbian activities in senior high schools may even merit being classified as “ancient customs”. I will even dare to say that second cycle schools have been major hubs for gay and lesbian acts. Senior high schools have been the real hot spots for gay and lesbian activities. It is in those places that gays and lesbians are really made. Underground gay and lesbian cells exist in many senior high schools.

In 2003, in one senior high school in the Ashanti region, it got a point where the headmistress of a first cycle institution had to come and “deliver a message from God” regarding the increase in gay activity in that senior high school. In various senior high schools across the nation students have “special” terms and jargons for gay and lesbian acts. The very common ones are “homo” for gays; and “lesby”/”lesbo” and “supi” for lesbians. Another term which is relatively new is “batty” or “batty buay/bwoy” (these are originally Jamaican terms for gays). There are other gay and lesbian jargons, like “ashetu”, “lottosa” and “muski” (a variation of it is “mooski”) and lesbobo, which are peculiar to certain schools. Others include phrases and terms such as “four legs on one bed.” In some schools the term that is used determines the nature of the homosexual or lesbian relationship or act. For instance whereas “lesbo” denotes a “serious” lesbian relationship, “dearism” is used for “lighter” or less serious relationships. One might also hear expressions such as “other’s dear” which is how lesbian partners may refer to each other.

There have even been incidents of students been raped on some campuses by gay students. However, in addressing such cases school authorities have often resorted to handling them as domestic rather than criminal matters. In some cases in a bid to resolve the issue the act is blamed on the influence of evil spirits.

A lot of young people get propositioned, and in some cases coerced into these acts but they find it difficult informing school authorities and their parents. We appear to be diverting all our attention to the Western region. However, if we really consider homosexuality to be a problem then of utmost importance are our senior high schools.

"I promise you that was the first thing that came out of my mouth," she said. "Then I saw Ray J: And it all added up."

"I am going to believe that Ray J -- who Whitney told me she had no relationship with… he was, like she said, a runner boy. He was buying [drugs] for Whitney for what I know, and giving her drugs."

Leolah's accusations are not sitting well with Ray J, who vehemently denied having anything to do with it.

"Even though Leolah Brown was nowhere near the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the day Whitney Houston died, Ms. Brown falsely claimed that Ray J was at the hotel and contributed to Whitney Houston's death," his rep said in a statement.

"Even the most minimal inquiry with anyone actually in contact with Whitney would reveal that Leolah Brown had been out of contact with Whitney for more than a year."

Ray J's statement makes sense according to what one source, who claims to have been with Whitney the day she died, told TMZ. According to the insider, someone removed all traces of cocaine from the hotel room before authorities arrived, and that same person supplied them to her in the first place.

Boston College football player facing criminal charges for recording sex act

CHESTNUT HILL (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Boston College football player is facing criminal charges after he allegedly used his cell phone to audiotape a consensual sexual encounter between a fellow football player and female graduate student.

Jaryd Rudolph, 19, of Plympton, was charged Wednesday with allegedly violating the state’s wiretap statute for a Feb. 15 incident in which he recorded an encounter between his roommate and a female student through a closed door.

Rudolph then shared the audio recording with other BC students, including other members of the football team.

The female was unaware the recording existed until a few days after the incident when members of the team played the audio recordings for her while she was working at a local bar.

The female went to campus police who then questioned the student with whom she had the encounter. He told police that his roommate, Rudolph, had made the recordings without his knowledge.

Boston College said in a statement that Rudolph "was issued a summary suspension at the time of the allegation and remains on University probation. He was also suspended from the football team, and must undergo educational training and counseling."

Rudolph was released on his own recognizance and is expected to plead not guilty. His next court appearance is scheduled for April 17.

If Rudolph is found guilty, he faces up to two and a half years in jail.

El DeBarge ARRESTED for Drug Possession

"Rhythm of the Night" singer El DeBarge was arrested for drug possession in L.A. yesterday ... and cops believe El may have been trying to deal the junk.

El was popped around 2 PM in Encino, CA ... after LAPD officers observed him participating in what appeared to be a drug deal with another man near the 101 Freeway.
DeBarge was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sell. It's the 3rd time El has been arrested for drug possession since 2001.

He was hauled to a nearby jail where he was booked and released on $30k bail. El is due back in court next month.
