Kim Kardashian surprised boyfriend Kanye West for his birthday by showing up in Ireland — and giving him a Lamborghini.
KIM KARDASHIAN traveled to Ireland to surprise Kanye West
for his 35th birthday on Friday and squeezed in a little face time with
Beyoncé. A source tells us the reality star made an unexpected visit to
the Emerald Isle, where she shocked her rapper beau at his Dublin
hotel. The insider says West was completely surprised by Kardashian’s
arrival and blown away by the birthday gift she’d gotten him: a $750,000
Lamborghini. Later that day, Kardashian was spotted “chatting” in the
hotel’s lobby with Jay-Z and Beyoncé.
The Italian luxury car is reportedly waiting for West back in Los Angeles once he and Hova conclude the European leg of their “Watch the Throne” tour in Birmingham, England, on June 22. According to our source, West can’t wait to take it for a spin. “He’s always wanted a black Lamborghini, and Kim wanted to get him something completely over the top,” says the insider. Mission accomplished.
SETH MACFARLANE may work for the same corporation that brings us Fox News, but that doesn’t mean he supports Mitt Romney. At the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles on Saturday night, MacFarlane told Hollywood heavy-hitters at a private estate in swanky Brentwood that homelessness — which Chrysalis fights to alleviate — could happen to them, too. “Maybe your workplace gets bought out by Bain Capital,” said the “Family Guy” creator, referring to the private-equity firm started by the GOP presidential candidate. “It could happen to any of us or all of us, depending how November shakes out.”
Actors Steve Carell and Katey Sagal and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl were on hand to present awards to the honorees, who included LL Cool J. Also in the crowd were “Glee” actress Lea Michele, who got very cozy with boyfriend Cory Monteith, Ashley Tisdale, Ryan Murphy, Rebecca Gayheart and Whitney Cummings.
JESSICA HART isn’t up for grabs. A source close to the awe-inspiring Aussie says reports from Down Under about her splitting from her beau, shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, are untrue. To the contrary, our insider says “things have never been stronger” between the gap-toothed Victoria’s Secret model and Niarchos. The couple did look pretty loved-up at Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld’s Little Black Jacket: Chanel Revisited exhibition event on Wooster St. Wednesday night
THE CAST OF “SMASH” is nervous over a spring shakeup at the NBC musical dramedy. A show source tells us the network’s April decision to replace “Smash” creator and writer Theresa Rebeck with “Gossip Girl” writer Josh Safran as the series’ show-runner — the producer/writer in charge of daily operations — has some cast members worrying about the show’s direction in season two, now that shooting begins in just a few weeks. According to the insider, those involved contend the writing was “successful” and that if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
ANGELA BOWIE still acts like it’s the ’70s. An insider tells us the ex-wife of rock god David Bowie arrived an hour and a half late to a book-signing party at Lair Lounge in SoHo for her latest effort, “Lipstick Legends.” The source says Bowie rushed into the signing after her interview on Sirius XM ran late. By the time she arrived, a number of guests had left in frustration. Many who stayed came to regret it: Bowie’s publicists never showed and neither did the books she was to sign. Worse, the former rock goddess was not in a charitable mood. Our spy says she refused a number of fans’ specific autograph requests by scolding, “Don’t tell me what to do!” We hear she also left photographer Bruce Alexander near tears after he asked her to sign a photo he’d taken that had appeared in her 2002 CD “Moon Goddess.” After Alexander got his ear chewed off, our source says a sympathetic bystander gave him a free-drink token.
