BBA: Mnet makes official statement on Maneta/Roki's disqualification

Student Maneta and musician Roki, both housemates from Zimbabwe, were evicted from Big Brother StarGame today (Tuesday June 19, 2012). The two housemates had been bickering all day and despite Big Brother intervening and advising both housemates directly that they needed to amend their behavior immediately, in line with the clearly stated house rules forbidding violence and provocation, the housemates chose to disregard this instruction

Their bickering continued and escalated into violence.  According to the rules of the show any housemate committing any act of physical violence is subject to immediate expulsion from the series. This season saw the ‘anti-violence’ rule expanded to include any housemate whose provocative behavior contributed substantially to creating a  hostile and aggressive environment in which violence is the result. M-Net and series producers Endemol consider the rules regarding physical violence among the most important in the house and are committed to enforcing the immediate disqualification of any housemate/s who break these. Roki and Maneta will be provided with psychological and medical treatment and counseling to assist them with conflict and anger management. BBA WINNER-KAREN IGHO SAYS NO FIGHT WITH VIMBAI

Karen Igho the winner of the last BBA Competition has tried to put the record straight about her supposed rift with a former housemate-Vimbai.

We got a press release from her publicist this morning, trying to explain her side of the whole issue. To understand the whole shenanigan, we would just quickly remind all, what the issue(s) is/are. There were speculations and rumours last week that Ms Karen Igho refused to do a magazine cover shoot with Vimbai (her former Zimbabwean BBA housemate).
This is Karen’s response to the whole situation, through her publicist-

A press release allegedly by a representative of Vimbai Mutinhiri (former BBA housemate from Zimbabwe) on the viral social media story– which suggests that the effervescent Ms Karen Igho, deliberately refused to be part of a photo shoot session with her for ‘Miss Dee’ magazine.

While Ms Karen frowns on any form of ‘SHE SAID, HE SAID’ controversy, she feels compelled for the love of her ever supportive fans and media friends to make her position on the rumours public.

Ms Igho was approached in Abuja on the 4th September, 2011 by the publisher of Miss Dee magazine at a casual meet to participate in a photo shoot for the magazine, but no exact time was proposed because at the time Ms Karen was preoccupied with spending quality time with her family in Jos; more so as she had just returned from the BigBrother Africa house and needed a relief from the Amplified euphoria.

However, Ms Karen recently got a call with respect to the photo shoot, but was engaged on the ‘Heavy Beauty’ movie production set along with her friend Mr Denrele Edun, making it difficult to leave Lagos at that time. Hence, it was not practical that Ms Igho who was on a movie set in Lagos could have refused or walked away from being part of a photo shoot session with Vimbai in Abuja.

Ms Karen has being in frequent communication with the other housemates, even proven with the time spent with Millicent (Kenya) when she came to Nigeria in spite of the ‘House’ confrontations between both during the BBA game episode.

To further reinforce Ms Karen Igho’s friendly disposition to her fellow housemates from BBA Amplified; Ms Karen had begun sending out official invites to WENDALL PARSON (Zimbabwe), LUCLAY ‘MR OTONO’ (S/Africa), WEZA SOLANGE (Angola), LOMWE (Malawi), MUMBA MWAKWA (Zambia), BERNADINA BUYS (Namibia) and their country counterparts in the BBA house in anticipation of a reunion party in Nigeria towards her April 6th birthday celebration. The weekend activity will feature the launch of Ms Karen’s T-shirt line, a BBA housemates’ media tour, charity visits to orphanage homes and the media launch of her upcoming reality TV shoot (details will be made explicit in a release towards the event date).

It is Ms Karen’s view that if Vimbai had something to say to her friend, Mr Denrele Edun it’s best done through inter-personal communication and she frowns at any insinuation of ‘war’ with anyone, as in the words of the Destiny Child’s song ‘Survivor’ Miss Karen is better than that.

Finally, we like to empathize with ‘Miss Dee’ magazine and request that the media please redirect their channel of inquiry.

Thank you.
