Success’ Viral Video: Delta Completes Okotie-Eboh Primary School Building In Sapele



Delta State Government has completed the reconstruction works at the Okotie-Eboh Primary School l in Sapele Local Government Area of the state from where Success Adegor’s viral video drew attention of Nigerians to the dilapidated structures serving as classrooms for pupils.

our news crew which has been following development at the school since the video was released in March, 2019, on Friday paid a visit to the school premises, to ascertain the level of works.

It was observed that construction works have been completed and the school premises now wear a new and beautiful look.

The deplorable state of the school had attracted public attention following a viral video in which Success was protesting the decision of the school authorities to send her home due to her parents’ failure to pay her second term examination fee.

It was gathered that the school’s pupils had been relocated to the neighbouring Okotie-Eboh Primary II to pave way for the reconstruction of their school since May this year.



we further learnt that though construction works had been completed, the classrooms and the staff rooms are yet to be furnished by the state government.

When this reporter visited the school premises on Friday, the entrance gate into the reconstructed school was under lock and key.

A resident of the area who was elated with the new structure confirmed the completion of construction works in the school but said the classrooms were yet to be furnished with benches, chairs and other materials for staff and students.

The resident, who simply identified himself as Kigho, commended the efforts of the Delta State Government for ensuring that the school was given a face-lift.

“We are indeed happy with what we are seeing in this neighbourhood. It’s now we have a school. What we have before now was a death trap and charade of a school. We are happy that a mere video of a schoolgirl has brought about so much change here.



we commend Governor Okowa for this. We hope he will extend it to other schools in Sapele and other parts of Delta State. This is not the only school in such deplorable state in the council. This is how a responsible government should behave”, Kigho added.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that the state government will soon commission the reconstructed building before the end of the year.

The source added that staff and students will move back to the school once the Governor Okowa has commissioned the building.
