Patients were rushed out of hospitals over fears the walls would cave in during the earthquake.

Power cuts were affecting most of the island of Lombok, media cited the head of the local disaster mitigation agency as
saying.

'Everything started shaking and people ran'
Charlotte Neal, who is on holiday in Uluwatu, said: “I was sitting on the edge of a cliff face at Uluwatu, at Single Fin cafe, and everything started shaking. We could see our drinks were moving and people started to run.

There was some confusion about what happened, and the DJ said ‘everybody calm down, it was just a small earthquake’.

“Some people at the party hadn’t realised what had happened, but we heard there had been a tsunami warning.
