Police in the US confirmed an 'unspecified threat' had been made against the plane which landed at Newark Liberty International Airport at around 1pm local time
Police have confirmed a terror threat was made against a British Airways flight from London to the US.
Authorities in the US confirmed an 'unspecified threat' had been made against the plane which landed at Newark Liberty International Airport at around 1pm local time (6pm UK time).
The plane was carrying 206 passengers and was met on the runway by emergency service crews.
It will now be moved to a remote section of the airport where passengers, bags and luggage will be re-screened as a precaution.
Local media reports suggest a bomb threat was made against the plane.
Security was stepped up at the airport earlier today after a caller made a threat from a payphone inside the airport's Terminal B if he was not given money and a getaway flight.
It is not yet known if the incidents are linked.
A British Airways spokesman described the terror threat as 'less than credible'.
