A lad got his mother to fear for his life - and convince her his face had changed shape - using some Snapchat filters.
Patrick Mungovan, 20, sent his mother a worrying snap taken on his mobile where his eyes had grown huge in size - by digitally altering a normal pic of himself using one of the popular app's options to change his appearance.
The lad, from from Quilty in County Clare in Ireland, even had the nerve to intimate it may have been her fault.
He told her he may have had a reaction to some cheese she had left in the fridge!
Then he claimed he had some pain in his eyes and his chin was "really sore" too.
His act was so convincing his mum was worried he might have some type of palsy - a paralysis - and was keen to rush him to a doctor by car.
The swimming instructor eventually he had to come clean.
He told The Irish Mirror : "I phoned her after that to tell her the truth before she crashed the car trying to race home!
"She didn't say anything on the phone for a second but eventually she just started laughing.
"She will get an awful shock when she sees this, I'll have to text her again!"
Here's exactly how it all played out:
Patrick: Mam I think I had an allergic reaction to the cheese you left in the fridge earlier (sad face emoji x2)
Mam: Why how do u know
Patrick: My eyes are really sore
Mam: Oh my god Patrick ... Will I ring the Shannon doc ? He's the only one on at this time of the night ... I'm in Spanish point I will be home in 5 minutes xx
Patrick: I have a pain in my two eyes and my chin is really sore too
Mam: God Patrick hope Ur not getting palsy .My mother had it years ago .Hold on Im on way to drive U to Shannon doc .God love you
