Dramatic footage has emerged from a major incident in Glasgow which reportedly left five people stabbed, shots fired and vehicles ablaze.
Officers were sent to the scene in Cardowan, a suburb in the north of the city, at around 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
Scotland's Ambulance Service also confirmed they are attending the scene and said "several casualties" have been taken to hospital.
According to the Daily Record , multiple people have been injured including up to five who may have been knifed.
Footage emerged this evening of a man in a blood-soaked t-shirt walking past two vans which were set ablaze during the incident.
The injured man, who appears to be using his t-shirt as a makeshift sling for his left arm, passes the camera briefly before walking off.
His connection to the events on Sunday is not known.
One witness posted an image of the scene on Facebook and described it as a "war zone".
Robin Neilson wrote: "Just dropping the kids off in cardowan and frankfield rd has been closed , it's like a war zone 2 vans on fire , stabbings , reports of shootings , just another day in car/D lol"
Another local resident told the Record: "There are police cars everywhere and a police helicopter flying overheard.
"I spoke to an officer on the scene but she wouldn’t say anything other than they were dealing with a ‘major incident’.
"At first I heard two people had been stabbed, but some are saying the number is five.
"There were reports of someone being attacked by a machete and even a shooting - it’s all unclear just now.
"The whole road’s closed off so you can’t really see anything either.
"I also spoke to two young boys who told me there was a video circulating on Snapchat of two cars on fire on the road."
Images later revealed two grey vans had been left burnt out as several streets were cordoned off in the area.
One witness said: "There was a massive bang. Two vans went up in flames. I’ve never seen anything like it.
"I don’t know what’s been going on but it’s frightening."
Detective Superintendent Stephen Grant said: “Officers are continuing enquiries after three men were left injured in what we understand is a targeted attack in the Cardowan area. These three men are in a stable condition. It would be inappropriate in light of the ongoing investigation to provide further information at this time.
“This was a brazen incident on Frankfield Road, involving a number of vehicles being set alight. A substantial police response followed the initial reports. This has given rise to speculation that the incident may have been connected to terrorism in some form.
"Whilst we are limited in what we can say in respect of the ongoing enquiry, what we can confirm at this time, is that this incident is not related to terrorism.
“Dedicated officers are analysing available CCTV and conducting door to enquiries. Anyone with information is asked to contact officers regarding the incident using the 101 number.
“For those living in the community of Cardowan, I can assure you that our officers are doing all they can to trace the persons responsible. A significant police presence will remain in the area as part of our ongoing inquiry. Please approach those officers with any information you may have.”
