A woman fell 200ft to her death from a mountain in Snowdonia while walking with her husband yesterday.
The couple were coming down the western face of Tryfan in Wales when they went in the wrong direction and started descending the dangerous Notch gully nearby.
A spokesman for Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue said the woman, who was in her 50s, fell around 70 metres to her death.
Her distraught husband called the emergency services and 15 members of the Ogwen team, six members of Llanberis Mountain Rescue and four volunteers from the Aberglaslyn Mountain Rescue team searched for the couple.

The man was escorted off the mountain as rescue teams searched for his wife.

She found dead having sustained injuries during the fall, reports the Wales Daily Post.
Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue spokesman Chris Lloyd said: “We couldn’t get in touch with the woman’s husband and, by the time we got there, the weather conditions were atrocious.
“The search and rescue helicopter carried two of our members up the mountain, but then had to be evacuated as we were getting wind gusts of up to 70mph, which the helicopter just couldn’t cope with.
“We found the very distraught man, who feared the worst for his wife, and escorted him off the mountain.
“We then found the woman, who sadly had died due to the result of her injuries sustained during her fall.”
Mr Lloyd said the couple were keen walkers and were well equipped.
Mr Lloyd added: “The west face of Tryfan is pretty notorious.”
