Kid’s selfie with Lewandowski blamed for costing Scotland place at Euro 2016

Le Buzz - Kid’s selfie with Lewandowski blamed for costing Scotland place at Euro 2016
Scotland were within moments of an astonishing win over Poland on Thursday night that would have kept alive their hopes of earning a spot at Euro 2016.
Indeed, so close was that prospect, and so excited were their fans, that with the Scots 2-1 up deep in the second half at Hampden Park there was a pitch invasion.
And it was then that the trouble started, as a young fan calling himself ‘ciarandiver9′ (at least on Instagram, that’s what he is known as) somehow managed to collar Poland and Bayern Munich’s red-hot striker Robert Lewandowski for a selfie.

Well, what did happen next is that ciarandiver9 was blamed by an entire nation for costing Scotland a spot at next summer’s tournament in France.
Let’s put aside the fact that the minutes were only added because they’d been lost in the first place.  Let’s ignore the  fact that Scotland lost matches they could have drawn, and drew matches they could have won, over the past 13 months. We’re talking about a nation so wounded that this is how one of their biggest newspapers reported the match:
