Police searching for the missing teenage daughter of a wealthy businessman say kidnappers have demanded a ransom.
Anneli-Marie, R. vanished while walking her dog last Thursday evening, August 13th.
The 17-year-old was last seen leaving her parent's house in Meissen, in the German state of Saxony, at 7.30pm.
Police found Anneli's dog alive and searched a nearby yard after a sniffer dog led officers there, but there was no sign of the missing girl.
The teenager's family received a ransom demand a short time later, police said.
Investigators refused to specify the kidnappers' demands, but local media reported it was more than €1million (£710,000).
In a statement released by police in Dresden, the family addressed their daughter directly saying: "Anneli, we miss you. We are with you."
They also told the suspects: "The kidnappers should know that we will fulfill the stipulated demands in order to be able to have our child back in our arms soon."
Police have so far received more than a dozen tips from the public, NBC News reported.
