Bobby Davro had sex with my wife in my kitchen while I was in bed', says his wheelchair-bound best pal
Celebrity Big Brother star Bobby Davro slept with the wife of his wheelchair-bound best friend, her devastated husband has claimed.
TV magician Wayne Dobson says the comedian betrayed their 30-year showbiz friendship by “pursuing” attractive 55-year-old Marianne behind his back.
Speaking for the first time of his heartbreak, the multiple sclerosis sufferer alleges Davro even had sex with her in their kitchen while he was ill in bed.
And he claims how the comic – who entered the CBB house on Friday – spent a night with Marianne at his home before showing up at Wayne’s flat to return her diamond earrings.
Wayne, paralysed from the neck down, also claims that when he plucked up the courage to confront Davro with his accusations in a tense showdown, saying “the cat’s out of the bag”, the comic simply told him: “Why don’t you let your wife have some fun?”
The magician is now locked in a bitter divorce battle with Marianne following revelations last year that she exposed her breasts to Davro in a drunken Skype conversation.
But Wayne, 58 – whose 1990s TV show A Kind Of Magic pulled in millions of viewers – says it is the loss of his best friend that has hit him hardest.
“I trusted him and my wife and they let me down,” he says.
“I blame Bobby for being weak, myself for having a disease that means I’m in this wheelchair and my wife for hurting me.
“I am really disappointed that Bobby gave up our 30-year friendship for a bit of skirt. We will never be friends again.”
Both Davro, 56, and Marianne have strongly denied Wayne’s claims that they slept together.
Wayne became good friends with Davro at the height of their fame in the mid-Eighties as they both toured the UK.
He met Marianne at a Surrey hospital in 2001 while having physiotherapy.
Her marriage was breaking up at the time and Wayne had been divorced from his first wife Karen for six months.
He says the attraction was “instant”. They married four years later.
But Wayne, who speaks with the aid of a microphone because of his MS, says: “I often thought I was punching above my weight with Marianne.
"I thought, why would this attractive woman be attracted to a guy like me in a wheelchair?
“At least my first wife had the courage to tell me she couldn’t handle my MS. I will always thank her for that.”
He claims his old pal Davro first confessed his attraction to Marianne six years ago when Wayne took his wife to the comedian’s 50th birthday bash.
Wayne says: “I remember it was in a marquee and he turned to me and said how beautiful she was. I never thought he meant anything by it then. Now I realise how infatuated he was.”
He says he knew Bobby and Marianne enjoyed each other’s company but he trusted his friend.
Wayne was even undaunted when Davro called him with an unusual request four years ago while he was away at a magic convention in Colorado.
“Bobby said, ‘do you mind if I take Marianne to Lakeside Country Club tonight?’ It was a hotel and I think he may have been performing there,” says Wayne.
“I told him I didn’t mind and thought no more of it. When I got home, Marianne very casually said she had stayed at Bobby’s because she was too drunk. He lived about 20 miles away.
“Then he came around the apartment when I was home to drop off some diamond earrings I’d bought her as a present. He said she’d left them at his.
“A year after that I took Marianne for a birthday meal in Cobham in Surrey and we had a bottle of champagne sent to our table that said, ‘Love from Bobby’.
“There was also a family holiday we took to Marbella in Spain to see Marianne’s sisters. He turned up there, completely out of the blue.
"But because he was such a good friend I just thought, ‘what a nice surprise’. I try not to think too deeply about everything that has happened now.”
But by the beginning of 2014, the marriage was in deep trouble.
Marianne later said Wayne’s disability had become too much to bear on top of her own health troubles after battling breast cancer.
Wayne says: “Bobby knew all about our problems. He promised ‘I’m here for you’ and said that he’d keep in regular contact. He called me to see if Marianne and I were OK.”
The couple separated in February of that year after a fierce row in which Marianne was arrested after accusations she had slapped Wayne.
No charges were brought, but Wayne filed for divorce citing unreasonable behaviour.
Two months later, he learned of the Skype incident but said nothing to Bobby then.
He says: “Then my carer told me Marianne had boasted of having sex with Bobby in our kitchen while I was in bed. I was disgusted.”
He called his friend to ask him to come round to his flat in Hindhead, Surrey.
Wayne says: “I waited until we were face to face. He cooked me lunch – which tasted like guilt to me – and I told him, ‘The cat’s out the bag’.
“I said what my carer had told me and asked, ‘Have you had sex with my wife?’ He denied everything.
“He said Marianne was a fantasist and a liar, but he knew I wasn’t buying it. There’s no smoke without fire.
“He then said there was just one thing – that she had exposed her breasts one night on Skype. I told him she wouldn’t do that without encouragement.
"He said he didn’t do anything. Then he said, ‘There’s one more thing - we did meet in a hotel.’ He said she had wanted to talk to him.
"And as he left the flat he said, ‘Why don’t you let your wife have some fun?’”
Davro told in a June interview how he lives with ex-wife Trudi Jameson, 45, but dates girlfriend Vicky Wright, 56.
He has previously admitted he had done “something silly” but said the incident had nothing to do with Wayne’s marriage breakdown.
He said: “I’ve never had a sexual relationship with Marianne. I have spent time with her on my own, I gave her lifts. I’m very fond of Marianne Dobson and her husband.”
Speaking last year about the Skype incident, Marianne said: “Bobby is just as big a culprit too. He is no longer a friend.
"I think we were both really drunk.”
Wayne – who still teaches magic at conventions and over Skype and sells books through his company DTrik – says he and Davro have not spoken for eight months.
He says: “Bobby and I had lots of discussions after that meeting at my flat but in January he emailed to say he didn’t want to get involved in my ‘s***’ any more.
"I am just really disappointed that my best friend chose my wife over our friendship.”
CBB newcomer Davro entered the UK vs USA-themed house with fiery US model Janice Dickinson, as reality star Tila Tequila was booted out after just a day over controversial Nazi comments she posted on Facebook two years ago.
He went on to win a task against Janice, making him Prime Minister of the house and giving control to the Brits, who also include Atomic Kitten Natasha Hamilton, Loose Women panellist Sherrie Hewson and former Apprentice contestant James Hill.
Wayne admits he won’t be able to resist watching his former pal in the Channel 5 house.
He says: “I like Big Brother so of course I’ll be seeing what he does. He could do very well.”
He even bravely jokes about the Skype video. Revealing he paid for Marianne to have implants 12 years ago, he adds: “I paid good money for those breasts.”
But Wayne says his “number one love” now is magic. “It keeps my brain active. I don’t ever want to stop doing it.”
Davro’s representative said: “We find it interesting Mr Dobson would choose to make these false allegations at this time when Bobby is notably unable to comment.
"We can confirm Bobby never had an affair with Marianne and considered both her and Wayne to be good friends. He will be deeply saddened to hear these untrue accusations.”
Marianne was unavailable for comment when we tried to contact her last week.
