A TRIBUTE TO FEMI ADENIYAN

Valentine Nwadike's photo.

The recent death of Femi Adeniyan has left us gravely stricken, unquiet and distraught with grief. In consequence whereof, and as a collective respect for the soul of our departed brother; we have caused our ALUMNI INTERHOUSE SPORTS/BEACH SOCCER EVENT earlier scheduled for July 25th to be suspended and moved to a later date in September. We pray that time would offer some balm to soothe our pains and heal our hearts, even as we implore the good Lord to rest Femi’s soul.
OLUFEMI ADENIYAN (1975 - 2015)
In the year 1975, providence ushered Femi into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Adeniyan in the city of Lagos. Young Femi had his early education in Lagos before gaining admission into the prestigious FED GOVT COLLEGE KWALI ABUJA, in October 1986 for his secondary education. Graduating in the fall of 1992, Femi Adeniyan went on to acquire further studies in higher institutions in Nigeria, and thereafter became gainfully employed as the chief executive officer of INFIELD NIG LTD (a travels and ticketing company) with headquarters in Lagos. Driven by a passion to excel, Femi was known to have acquitted himself creditably on his job.
Like a cat with nine lives, Femi, unbeknownst to many, had zigzagged between ill-health and sound health for much of his later years, culminating in several sojourns in several care facilities. Sadly, on Sunday, June 7, 2015, after a spirited fight against ill health, he went the way of all flesh, leaving behind a wife and two children.
Femi loved the Fed Govt College Abuja family and kept in touch with the family even in his last days, and, on behalf of the Fed Govt College Abuja Alumni family, we say: Good night Femi. We are all the poorer with your passing.
We send our thoughts and condolences to the Adeniyans, especially his wife, children and younger brother, Kole Adeniyan (who is also a member of the FGC Abuja family).
