Over One Million Women March In Abuja For The Release Of Abducted Girls

There will be a protest march by over one million women from all over the country urging the government to take immediate steps in rescuing 200 abducted Nigerian by suspected Boko Ha-ram insurgents.
There was an emergency meeting held yesterday by first lady of Borno State, Hajiva Nana Kashim Shettima in Maiduguri, at which Professor Hauwa Abdu Biu informed all those present about the march named “Free our girls”. This march will mobilize women to Abuja for rally and will involve women from all over the country.
Hauwa Abdu Biu noted, that as the last time the color of rally was black, this time all women that will attend the Abuja rally should wear red.
The first lady of Borno urged all wives of security chiefs of Nigeria to urge their husbands to increase efforts in finding and rescuing the abducted girls.
She said:“Let us all put our differences aside irrespective of our faith or tribes, let us all join hands to rescue these girls, I know that we can do , Almighty Allah is with us, he knows our intention”, the first lady of Borno said.
She also added that a two days before that she received a call from the first lady and that she was supporting their endeavor in finding girls.
There were also other women who spoke at the meeting and they all urged the federal government in finding ways to rescue the abducted girls.
They also encouraged all the of Nigeria to join in prayers and fasting for God to protect the girls and to touch the of those insurgents with mercy.
In attendance were wives of state service chiefs, of chiefs of non-governmental organisations, professional bodies, FOMWAN – Federation of Muslim Women Associations representatives and CAN – Christian Association of Nigeria representatives also attended the meeting.
