A ruthless employer took advantage of a 13-year-old girl's vulnerability and raped her several times in the absence of his wife.
Manicaland provincial spokesperson, Inspector Enoch Chishiri, confirmed the rape and said the suspect only identified as Chimupiri was still at large.
"In August, the juvenile was employed by Chimupiri's wife. She took the juvenile to her rural home near Charter where she stayed with her husband and two children. Chimupiri's wife returned to her workplace leaving the juvenile and her husband at home. Chimupiri took advantage of the minor and raped her several times. He would threaten her not to tell anyone," said Insp Chishiri.
The mater only came to light on October 24, when the juvenile returned to her parents and started complaining of abdominal pains. She was rushed to Charter Clinic for treatment where she disclosed the rape to the nurse. The accused is still at large and anyone with information can contact their nearest police station.
Meanwhile, a 15-year-old teenager was raped last week after a male adult lied to her that he had secured a job for her at 22 Miles Business Centre. Insp Chishiri said Cleopas Matanga went to the teenager's homestead and informed her that he had secured a job for her at 22 Miles.
"At around 12-midday, while at 22 Miles Business Centre, Matanga told the girl that the owner of the undisclosed restaurant was at Bezel Bridge Business Centre and they should proceed and meet him. The two went to Bezel Bridge where on arrival, the teenager was left standing on the roadside with Matanga purporting to be looking for the owner of the restaurant.

When they got to the house, Matanga unlocked the doors and asked the teenager to follow him, but she refused. He dragged her inside and raped her once," said Insp Chishiri.
