A report says actress Lindsay Lohan allegedly lied to police about the circumstances surrounding the car crash in which she was involved on the Pacific Coast Highway last week.

Lindsay Lohan can’t seem to catch a break.
The “Liz and Dick” actress, who was briefly hospitalized after a serious collision with an 18-wheeler Friday afternoon, finds herself entangled in a legal mess once again.
The 25-year-old starlet told Santa Monica police she was not behind the wheel at the time of the accident, insisting that her assistant was the one who was driving and left the front of her rental Porsche smashed after it collided with a truck along Pacific Coast Highway, according to TMZ.
Unfortunately for Lohan, however, her assistant later told police that the “Mean Girls” star had been in the driver’s seat.
Eyewitnesses at the scene told TMZ that both Lohan and her assistant had climbed out of the passenger side of the car, proof that the actress spun the lie immediately after the accident.
Lying to police officials is considered a crime, and if prosecuted, Lohan could possibly have her probation revoked and face consequent jail time.
James, who claimed he didn’t recognize the starlet, immediately called the cops after Lohan and her posse — a Cadillac Escalade full of people seemingly involved with her current film — tried to slip away from the scene of the crime.
They “told me this was some kind of famous person and they didn’t want it to be in the media,” James told TMZ. “But I’d already called 911 because they were trying to get away from the scene.”
The truck driver added that Lohan’s people offered him cash on the spot to not report the accident.
Lohan and her camp is vehemently denying any such transaction.
The actress’ rep, Steve Honig, tells TMZ that Lohan was compliant with the police officials’ demands, and that James is clearly just another person looking to cash in on Lohan’s fame.
“It seems to me once he realized he wasn’t going to get anything from Lindsay he decided to get cash by telling tales to the tabloids,” Honig told People magazine. “I hope he got whatever money he was looking for. Personally, all I care about is that Lindsay and her assistant Gavin are okay.”
Lohan previously told her friends that faulty brakes may have caused the accident, while a source told the News that paparazzi were to blame.
“She’s alright. She’s not badly injured, but her assistant is pretty banged up,” the well-placed source told the News. “I can tell you paparazzi was chasing her when she got cut off.”
