Funke Akindele, Kanu Nwankwo, Banky W & Yaw (Of Wazobia FM) Named As Olympic Torch Bearers

Funke Akindele, Kanu Nwankwo, Banky W & Yaw have all been named Olympic Torch bearers for the 2012 London Olympics. They will bear the torch at the Coventry leg of the Olympic Torch relay on July 1. For Banky W, he will be the first Nigerian singer to be honored with this.
The Olympic Torch is ignited several months before the opening ceremony at Olympia, Greece, and it is carried around the world until it’s final lighting at the London Olympics.
