Fox Cancels “Terra Nova”

For those who loved the Fox show Terra Nova, I bring less than stellar news. According to 3m360, Fox is officially cancelling the show. The good news is that no one really watched it, so it looks like no one is going to be entirely broken-hearted.While the show has been on the chopping block since it premiered, Fox continued to air it on the chance that the show’s storyline, which was ever-evolving, would be able to draw in a dedicated fan-base. While this never panned out, some critics did tip their cap to the show’s narrative improvements. Obviously, this never quite impressed the network enough to keep the show going. If you’re on the outs about the show (which many are), the storyline follows a family who travels back to prehistoric times (yes, dinosaurs and other giant predators) in an attempt to change the course of history and save mankind. The premise, while interesting and ambitious, was a bit too large to take on without the production value that HBO has to offer.More surprising still is the fact that film titan Steven Spielberg executively produced Terra Nova. I guess this goes to show that just because you created the biggest dinosaur franchise in the history of film (Jurassic Park), it doesn’t mean you can create a decent dinosaur television show. Though nothing is confirmed, it is being hinted that the show could land on a different network where it would pick up where the story left off before its Fox cancellation.
