40 year old man goes to jail for stealing hair attachments
A 40-year-old man, Emmanuel Chinedu, has been sentenced to a one-year jail term by the Ebute Meta Magistrates’ Court for stealing a shirt and four pieces hair attachment worth N4,800.
The Magistrate, O.O. Olatunji, in handing down the sentence, gave Mr. Chinedu, no option of fine, after he pleaded guilty to a three-count-charge bearing on felony and stealing.
The prosecutor, Paul Ojogo, had told the court that the accused, at about 3a.m on March 2, broke into the store of Chukwuma Ezenwa at Iddo, a Lagos suburb, to steal a shirt and the attachments.
He said the accused, who had no occupation and was of no fixed address, was released from prison five months ago.
The prosecutor also said the offence contravened 285 and 307 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, 2011
