Wayne Rooney party girl jokes about footballer’s manhood and dubs him Shrek

The footballer was arrested for drink-driving after meeting the party girl on a night out

Laura Simpson has since deleted the posts where she made reference to Rooney's manhood after the pair's now notorious night out in Cheshire.
The 29-year-old reportedly said the striker had "tekkers" and referred to him as "Shrek", the Metro reports.

She was asked "was he hung like a hamster or ogre?" and she replied "like an ogre".

The odd messages were swiftly deleted before she claimed a friend had got hold of her phone and had also posted tweets about drink-driving.

She later wrote: "I deleted the very insensitive tweet that my friend thought was funny at the time…obviously wasn’t, apologies #verystupidstory."
Her friend Jordan replied: "Couldn’t resist when she left her phone on the table…I could have put something far worse to be fair haha."

Simpson was with Rooney when he was stopped by police while drink-driving, after they met on a night out.

Police Say 3 Deaths Could Be Work Of Serial Killer 'Terrorizing' Tampa

Authorities believe the same individual is responsible for the deaths of Monica Caridad Hoffa, Anthony Naiboa and Benjamin Edward Mitchell.

A string of murders in Florida is sparking fears that a serial killer is targeting Tampa residents.

According to police, three people have been shot and killed this month, apparently at random. The victims have no known connections to each other and were all bus riders who were killed within a 1-mile radius of each other in central Tampa’s Seminole Heights neighborhood.

“When you look at the time frame, the proximity, that there is no apparent motive, that they are alone ― the victims are a lot of the time ― it’s clear to me that they’re all linked,” interim Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan said at a Friday press conference.
The victims have been identified as Monica Hoffa, 32; Benjamin Mitchell, 22; and Anthony Naiboa, 20.

Barack Obama couldn't stop laughing after George W. Bush whispered in his ear

All five living former U.S. presidents gathered at a hurricane relief concert in Texas to raise money for victims of Hurricane Harvey, Irma, and Maria on Saturday night -- and the Internet can't stop obsessing about one moment between George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

During his time in office, Obama was known for his composure and, at times, even disposition. But over the weekend, the former president completely lost it at the relief event hosted by One America Appeal.
While Bill Clinton delivered a speech discussing the enduring disaster in Puerto Rico, the younger Bush smiled and appeared to whisper something to Obama, making him laugh behind Bill Clinton.

A Russian Ghost Submarine, its U.S. Pursuers and a Deadly New Cold War

a large ship in a body of water
The Krasnodar, a Russian attack submarine, left the coast of Libya in late May, headed east across the Mediterranean, then slipped undersea, quiet as a mouse. Next, it fired a volley of cruise missiles into Syria.

In the days that followed, the diesel-electric sub was pursued by the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush, its five accompanying warships, MH-60R Seahawk helicopters and P-8 Poseidon anti-sub jets flying out of Italy.

The U.S. and its allies had set out to track the Krasnodar as it moved to its new home in the Black Sea. The missile attack upended what had been a routine voyage, and prompted one of the first U.S. efforts to track a Russian sub during combat since the Cold War. Over the next weeks, the sub at points eluded detection in a sea hunt that tested the readiness of Western allies for a new era in naval warfare.
An unexpected resurgence in Russian submarine development, which deteriorated after the breakup of the Soviet Union, has reignited the undersea rivalry of the Cold War, when both sides deployed fleets of attack subs to hunt for rival submarines carrying nuclear-armed ballistic missiles.

When underwater, enemy submarines are heard, not seen—and Russia brags that its new subs are the world’s quietest. The Krasnodar is wrapped in echo-absorbing skin to evade sonar; its propulsion system is mounted on noise-cutting dampers; rechargeable batteries drive it in near silence, leaving little for sub hunters to hear. “The Black Hole,” U.S. allies call it.

Trying to solve a question or a problem? Grandma knows best.

CBS New York reports one special grandmother is lending 100 years of wisdom to strangers on New York City's Upper West Side. Her makeshift office attracts a steady stream of New Yorkers, anxiously awaiting a chat with the woman who has 10 decades of life experience.

"For me, it was a thrill. She's just wonderful," one man said.

Inside the cardboard cut-out, you'll find a laptop with 100-year-old grandmother Eileen Wilkinson waiting to chat.

She may live clear across the country in Washington state, but thanks to her grandson, Mike Matthews — who is an adjunct social media professor at New York University – she's now sharing words of wisdom for free.

"You can be anything you want," Wilkinson said. "Don't complain about anything. You do something about it."

Over the past three months, hundreds of people have stopped by, chatting with Wilkinson like they were old friends.

Candela: The Italian town paying people to move there

candela-ghost-town---houses---Franceso-Pio-Delvecchio--Comune-Candela-.
The mayor of Italian town Candela has come up with a practical solution to its dwindling population number -- paying people to become residents.
Nicola Gatta wants the small medieval town in Puglia to shine like it did in the 1990s, when more than 8,000 people lived here. Today, there are just 2,700 residents.
So, to recover the town's lost grandeur, mayor Nicola Gatta is offering up to 2,000 euros ($2,350) to encourage people to relocate.
"I work each day with passion and commitment to bring Candela back to its ancient splendor," says Gatta. "Up until the 1960s, travelers called it 'Nap'licchie' (Little Naples), for it streets full of wayfarers, tourists, merchants and screaming vendors."
These days the Neapolitan buzz has been replaced by the silence of the surrounding green hills and pristine forests.

'Smirking' oligarch's daughter who killed five in car horror 'was racing another driver at almost double speed limit'

An oligarch's daughter who killed five people and injured a dozen more in a horror car incident had allegedly been racing another driver.

Alyona Zaitseva, a 20-year-old millionaire's daughter "jumped a red light and rammed into a crowd" at a pedestrian crossing, say police.

A new video suggests she could have been racing another car moments before colliding with a vehicle and ramming into helpless pedestrians waiting at a crossing in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The CCTV shows two cars side by side travelling down a busy road with lots of traffic.

From the footage, it looks like the cars are moving faster than the rest of the vehicles on the street.

The video also appears to capture the moment two cars collide at a bend.

It was also revealed today that Zaitseva had been fined four times previously for breaking the speed limit.

There was carnage of the streets after her speeding Lexus struck a VW Touareg before completely overturning and landing on its wheels and then crashing into a group waiting to cross the road.

A Nigerian man serving life sentences for trying to set off a bomb in his underwear on a plane on Christmas Day 2009 is suing the U.S. Justice Department for denying his free speech and religious rights.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab received multiple life sentences after the attempted attack on the Amsterdam to Detroit flight, which he called part of his "religious duty" as a Muslim to wage jihad against the United States.

In a lawsuit filed in a Colorado federal court, he said authorities in the federal maximum security prison where he is being held were violating his constitutional rights by not allowing him to communicate with the outside world or practice his religion as a Muslim, court documents showed.

U.S. diplomat warns to be 'prepared for the worst' right after N. Korean official reportedly shuts down diplomacy

Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan told reporters on Tuesday that while the State Department remained focused on quelling tensions with North Korea through diplomatic channels, that the nation and world must remain prepared for the possibility that those efforts will fail.

"We must, however, with our allies in Japan and South Korea and elsewhere, be prepared for the worst should diplomacy fail,” Sullivan said, according to the Associated Press.

The comments come fresh off a report from CNN claiming a North Korean official said that the country is no longer interested in diplomacy until it develops the capabilities to build a long-range (ICBM) capable of hitting the East coast of the United States.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino security guard Jesus Campos, who has been hailed for being the first to confront Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock, gave his first public account of the attack, in an interview on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Campos and Mandalay Bay building engineer Stephen Schuck were DeGeneres' guests in an interview taped Tuesday.

"As I was walking down [the hallway], I heard rapid fire," Campos told DeGeneres in the interview. "I took cover, and I felt a burning sensation. I went to go lift my pant leg up and saw blood. That's when I called in on my radio that shots were fired."

The show released an eight-minute clip of the interview on Tuesday night, and the full episode will air Wednesday afternoon.

Campos laid out his recollection of the events leading up to Paddock's firing on a crowd at a country music festival across the street from the Mandalay Bay hotel on Oct. 1. Fifty-eight people were killed, and hundreds more were injured, in the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history.
