The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike has taken a new dimension - Pro and anti-government student's associations has turned on each other - The Unity Fountain in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is the battle ground There is currently a clash going on between two factions of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) at the Unity Fountain in Abuja. A first group had assembled at the Unity Fountain to protest the ongoing strike action by ASUU when another group appeared to counter the protest. While the anti-strike group led by Haruna Kadiri urged the federal government to do all within its power to ensure that the ongoing strike by ASUU is called off, the second group led by Ade Abayomi said they are not at the fountain for a clash.
Abayomi who spoke to NAIJ.com said it is clear to everyone that Kadiri is not a student. “He has no admission letter, and we have said it times without number that due process must be followed,” Abayomi said.
He added that the faction had written to the federal government of the association's demand. He said a 21-day ultimatum had already been given to the government on the ongoing strike.
Meanwhile, NANS has given a 7-day ultimatum to the Niger state government over the health situation of one of its former leaders. In an emergency resolution issued in Abuja on Friday, September 1, the students body tasked the Niger State government as a matter of urgency, to take over the medical bill of Dauda Mohammed, a former president of NANS from Niger state.

Police arrest woman for filming friend’s rape and posting to the victim’s Snapchat account after they argued over a man

Police have arrested a Chicago woman who allegedly filmed and posted the rape of her unconscious friend on Snapchat after they argued over a man they met at a party.
Prosecutors say Beth Rae Harris, 36, and the victim 23, were arguing on August 24 but that the two eventually made amends. They then made their way to a club and a hotel party where the victim drank heavily.
Harris and the victim then returned to Harris's apartment on the 7400 block of North Artesian Avenue where the victim passed out, prosecutors said.
That's when Harris allegedly encouraged a man, but possibly more, to rape the 23-year-old.
The victim woke up the next morning completely naked, and sore. Harris told her as she left that a man had sex with her while she was passed out, Assistant State's Attorney Nora Gill said.
