Donald in denial: My White House is a finely tuned machine (and if you hear anything to the contrary it's just fake news from the lying media fed by lowlife leakers in the intelligence community)

Trump says his White House is a finely tuned machine

Donald Trump claimed on Thursday that his administration is 'running like a fine-tuned machine, despite the fact that I cannot get my cabinet approved.'
He ignored a week which saw him fire his national security adviser for lying to the vice president, and a mounting tide of leaks from inside his White House and his intelligence agencies – instead turning on the media.
The president complained that the national press corps, his most reliable long-time political sparring partner, continues to portray his work unfairly, suggesting that dishonest reporters are responsible for the lack of credit he gets from the public.
He jabbed and jabbed over what he has called 'fake news' reports, ultimately announcing a change of vocabulary. 'I'm changing it from "fake news," though. "Very fake news",' he quipped.
'I turn on the TV, open the newspapers – and I see stories of chaos, chaos,' Trump complained in his first solo press conference since taking over the Oval Office.
'Yet it is the exact opposite.'
'Much of the media in Washington, D.C., along with New York and Los Angeles speaks not for the people, but for the special interests,' he claimed, renewing a campaign theme that at one time drew thousands in sports arenas to yell 'CNN sucks!' at the top of their lungs.

President Robert Mugabe's former deputy, now leader of the opposition Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF), Joice Mujuru, has reportedly accused a group of party leaders she expelled last week of "seeking to turn her into a sex slave".
According to NewsDay, Mujuru said that her former lieutenants, Didymus Mutasa and Rugare Gumbo tried to turn her into a "sex slave" after proposing that she be the party's "queen bee".
In an audio recording of her address to provincial structures in Masvingo at the weekend, Mujuru told her supporters that the duo wanted her to sleep with male colleagues in the party, as she was a widow.
"…They said Mai Mujuru; we want you to be our queen bee. I was supposed to mate with all the men in the party. I was supposed to be their wife. I was supposed to work for them because they had seen that while I was still in Egypt [while in Zanu-PF] I used to work hard.

Burkina Faso's ex-leader Compaore expected to be tried in March

File: AFP
Ouagadougou - Ousted Burkina Faso president Blaise Compaore will likely go on trial in March for his part in the violent crackdown on the 2014 popular uprising that overthrew him, the supreme court prosecutor told AFP Wednesday.
Other members of his former government will also face justice including the ex-prime minister Luc Adolphe Tiao, prosecutor Armand Ouedraogo said.
Compaore, who lives in Ivory Coast, was defence minister as well as president at the time of the insurrection but is only being prosecuted for his role as the former.
"Of the 34 members of (Compaore's) government, seven will be tried in absentia," Ouedraogo added.
Compaore lost power after 27 years following a popular uprising in October 2014 against his attempts to change the constitution to remain in office.

Yahoo is telling users that hackers may have accessed their accounts without passwords

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer
Yahoo is telling some of its users that hackers may have logged into their accounts, using a forged "cookie" which gives access even without a password.
According to CNET, the attack was originally announced in September, but has largely been overlooked until now as the revelation was included within a larger announcement about a Yahoo security breach considered the largest in history.
Yahoo said it had connected some of the cookie-based attacks to the "same state-sponsored actor" believed to be responsible for one of the other hack.
It's unclear why some of the users are receiving the notification now, months after Yahoo first disclosed the cookie attacks.

Scientists discover banned toxic chemicals in animals living in world's deepest ocean trench

seacreatures.jpg
“Extraordinary” amounts of toxic chemicals that were banned in the 1970s have been discovered in the bodies of sea creatures living at the bottom of the deepest ocean trench in the world.
Scientists were stunned to discover that such high levels of  polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and other persistent organic pollutants were to be found more than 10km (six miles) below sea level in the Mariana Trench in the Pacific Ocean. It is about 1,300km from the nearest major land mass, Japan.
And a similar situation was found about 7,000km away in the Kermadec trench, which is also more than 10km deep and about 1,500km north of New Zealand, the researchers reported in the journal Nature Ecology and Evolution.

Massive supernova visible millions of light years from Earth

California observatory spots dying star 10,000 times brighter than the sun before explosion in a spiral galaxy 160m light years from constellation of Pegasus
Astronomers have captured the early death throes of a massive star that was torn apart in a violent explosion in a galaxy far from Earth.
The star was already 10,000 times brighter than the sun when it collapsed in a supernova that made it shine so intensely it was visible from modern telescopes in orbit and on the ground.
Using an observatory on Palomar Mountain near San Diego, California, scientists spotted the brilliant flash of the explosion within three hours of it reaching Earth. They immediately alerted other telescope operators who swiftly turned their instruments on the stellar wreckage.
Thought to be a red supergiant more than 10 times the mass of the sun and several hundred times larger, the star detonated in a spiral galaxy named NGC7610 which sits 160m light years away in the constellation of Pegasus.

Michael Flynn resigns: Trump's national security adviser quits over Russia links

General Mike Flynn has left his post as Donald Trump’s national security adviser.

General Michael Flynn has resigned as Donald Trump’s national security adviser after weeks of speculation over his links to Russia turned into days of reporting on the contents of his calls with the Russian ambassador and a day of intense pressure over whether the president could continue to back his pick.
The resignation came late at night, at around 11pm Washington DC, after further news reports revealed that the White House had been warned last month by then acting attorney general Sally Yates – before she was fired for advising justice department lawyers that the travel ban was “not lawful” – that Flynn was vulnerable to blackmail.
Transcripts of intercepted calls between Flynn and Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyev, as described by US officials to various news outlets, showed the two had discussed sanctions ahead of Trump’s inauguration, when Flynn was part of the transition team but not in post as national security adviser.

Ibrahimovic joined Barca in 2009 and scored 21 goals in the only season he played at the Camp Nou. He was initially allowed to leave on loan to AC Milan, before he sealed a move away.
