Twitter is shutting down Vine

jack dorsey
Twitter is shutting down video-sharing service Vine "in the coming months," the company announced Thursday. Vine, which lets you share short video clips, debuted in 2013. Twitter acquired Vine in 2012 before the service had even launched.
The news comes the same day Twitter announced it would lay off more than 300 workers, or 9% of the company's global workforce, within the company's sales, partnerships, and marketing teams.
"Nothing is happening to the apps, website or your Vines today," Twitter said in a release, adding that users will be given a heads-up and be able to download their Vines before the app shutters for good.
Twitter will be keeping Vine's website up indefinitely. "We think it’s important to still be able to watch all the incredible Vines that have been made," the company said.

Hillary Clinton finally admits she draws fashion inspiration from Death Row Records

“It Might Sound Crazy” but Hillary Clinton’s outfit at the first presidential debate has drawn comparisons to the CEO of Death Row Recordings.
With All Eyez on Hillary Clinton, the Democratic contender admitted at last totaking sartorial cues from legendary rap label Death Row Records.
“I think Death Row and a lot of other fashion sources have influenced my look, don’t you?” Clinton quipped on Wednesday, prompted by hosts of the Breakfast Club on Power 105.1.
A viral meme posted after the third and final presidential debate had compared images from each of Clinton’s debate outfits — ranging from red to blue to white — with similar getups donned by record label co-founder Suge Knight and its artists Tupac and Snoop Dogg.
“We gone sit here and act like Hillary Clinton ain't been representing Death Row Records at all 3 debates?” queried Twitter user @double_cupp_me.

Man Who Destroyed Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Arrested — Turns Out He's A MILLIONAIRE!

no title
The hammer of the law is coming down on the man who destroyed Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star.
Early on Thursday, LAPD tracked down James Otis in West Hollywood as he was leaving a home and arrested him for felony vandalism.
The activist told press he took a sledgehammer and a pickax to Trump's plaquebecause he was furious over the near dozen sexual assault allegations that have come out against the Republican nominee.
Heir to the Otis Elevator Company fortune and apparently worth millions, Otis had reportedly planned to hold a press conference before turning himself in, but was arrested by police before he had the chance.
No ten minutes of fame for you, James!
The elevator heir was reportedly cooperative with police and had previously stated he "wasn't afraid" of Trump, or being taken to court for that matter — which is a good thing, since he could face three years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

The Mercedes-Benz pick-up truck is here — and it's called the X-Class

Mercedes Benz X Class Concept

Mercedes-Benz
On Tuesday, Mercedes-Benz gave the public their first look at the company's upcoming pickup truck in the form of the new X-Class Concept. According to Mercedes-Benz, the new X-Class will be the world's first true "premium" pickup truck.
Introduced in a ceremony in Stockholm, the new X-Class marks Mercedes' official entry into what is perhaps the most competitive, territorial, and lucrative segment in the automotive market.
"With the Mercedes-Benz pickup, we will close one of the last gaps in our portfolio," Daimler chairman and head of Mercedes-Benz Dr Dieter Zetsche said in a statement. "Our target: we want to offer customers vehicles matching their specific needs. The X-Class will set new standards in a growing segment."
In the US, the midsize pickup segment, where the X-Class will compete, is growing at more than 20% a year. At the same time, the midsize pickup also dominate in Argentina, Australia, and Brazil. Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz does not plan to offer the X-Class for sale in the US when it enters production late next year. Or perhaps fortunately for Mercedes, as the US pickup market is dominated by the Detroit Big Three.
Instead, Mercedes is expected to offer the X-Class in Europe, Latin America, South America, and Africa. No official pricing information for the X-Class has been released.
Here's a closer look at the Mercedes-Benz X-Class pickup. On Tuesday, Mercedes' Van division debuted two versions of the Concept X-Class.

'Fascination with sex': Megyn Kelly and Newt Gingrich in angry clash over Trump coverage

Megyn Kelly has been the target of hate from the Trump campaign.
In an aggressive exchange on Fox News, the former House speaker Newt Gingrichaccused conservative TV host Megyn Kelly of bias against Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump as well as a “fascination with sex”.
The row on Tuesday night between Kelly and one of Trump’s most stalwart supporters began when the host brought up the multiple sexual assault and misconduct allegations against the candidate.
During the ensuing debate, which bordered on personal attacks, Gingrich said the host was “fascinated with sex” and Kelly urged him to “take your anger issues and spend some time working on them”.
Dan Scavino, Trump’s director of social media, later responded on Twitter, saying Kelly had “made a total fool out of herself” and warning: “Watch what happens to her after this election is over.”
The tiff marked the latest chapter in the back and forth between Kelly and the Trump campaign. It started in August 2015 when Trump suggested tough questioning from the Fox News host in the first debate of the Republican presidential primary was because she was menstruating. She “had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever”, Trump said on CNN.

José Mourinho: My Manchester life is a disaster

José Mourinho
Under-pressure José Mourinho has labelled his current setup a “disaster” as he prepares for the Manchester derby.
The United manager, who watched on as his side were hammered 4-0 at Chelsea on Sunday, is living in the top-floor suite of Manchester’s Lowry Hotel with his family still in London.
And the Special One hinted at his unhappiness during an interview with Sky Sports. Mourinho, before Wednesday’s EFL Cup fourth-round tie with City at Old Trafford, said: “For me it’s a bit of a disaster because I want sometimes to walk a little bit and I can’t. I just want to cross the bridge and go for a restaurant. I can’t, so it is really bad. Buy a house? I do not know, I do not know. The reality is that my daughter will be 20 next week, my son will be 17 in a couple of months.

Drake Dissed Kid Cudi and People Are Not Happy

Drake's 30th birthday is today, and to celebrate he released four new songs on OVO Radio. In one of those songs, "Two Birds, One Stone," Drake takes a jab at Kid Cudi.
"You were the man on the moon / Now you just go through your phases / Life of the angry and famous."
The two have recently traded shots at one another, but now with Cudi checking himself into rehab for depression and suicidal urges, Drake's latest attack rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.
It's unclear if Drake's shot actually had anything to do with Cudi's recent note about his struggle with depression, but the timing of it has a lot of people thinking Drake crossed a line. Mental illness is a serious issue that is often overlooked in music, and it looks like the general consensus is that now is not the time to be stirring up a rap beef with a person dealing with bigger problems. See some reactions below.

This Hawaiian Mushroom Makes Women Orgasm Just By Smelling It

Screen Shot 2015-10-09 at 3.57.14 PM
I have good news and bad news. Let's start with the good news:
Scientists have discovered an orange mushroom in recent Hawaiian lava flows that can induce instantaneous orgasms in women just from the odor it gives off. That's right, fellas. You can get your girl to bust nuts all over the place just by having her sniff this thing.
This orgasm triggered by fungus, or "fungasm," is due in part from hormones in the mushroom that are close in similarity to the same ones picked up by our own neurotransmitters. Basically, the smell of this shroom makes the female body think it's having sex. Imagine walking into a sorority house with your pockets filled with these mushrooms.

Explorers accidentally find a graveyard of more than 40 perfectly preserved ancient shipwrecks at the bottom of the Black Sea

More than 40 shipwrecks have been discovered from the Ottoman and Byzantine periods, many of which provide the first views of ship types known from historical sources. Pictured is a shipwreck from the Ottoman period
In the depths of the Black Sea lies a landscape of complete darkness, where there is no light and no oxygen.
Archaeologists have long believed this 'dead zone' holds of a perfectly preserved graveyard of shipwrecks.
Now, a mapping expedition has proved them right, after accidentally uncovering more than 40 ancient shipwrecks from the Ottoman and Byzantine periods.

BLACK SEA'S 'DEAD ZONE'

With no light and no oxygen in the Black Sea's lower, anoxic layer, no life can survive.
This means the environment cannot support the organisms that typically feast on organic materials, such as wood and flesh.
As a result, there is an extraordinary opportunity for preservation, including shipwrecks and the cargoes they carried.
The expedition has been scouring the waters 5,900ft (1,800 metres) below the surface of the Black Sea using an off-shore vessel equipped with some of the most advanced underwater equipment in the world.
The vessel is on an expedition mapping submerged ancient landscapes which were inundated with water following the last Ice Age.
The project, known Black Sea Maritime Archaeology Project (Black Sea MAP), involves an international team led by the University of Southampton's Centre for Maritime Archaeology.
Professor Jon Adams, principle investigator on the project, said: 'We're endeavouring to answer some hotly-debated questions about when the water level rose, how rapidly it did so and what effects it had on human populations living along this stretch of the Bulgarian coast of the Black Sea.
'The primary focus of this project is to carry out geophysical surveys to detect former land surfaces buried below the current sea bed, take core samples and characterise and date them, and create a palaeoenvironmental reconstruction of Black Sea prehistory.'

A Queens couple woke up to a parent’s worst nightmare early Monday when they found their 5-week-old baby girl unconscious and unresponsive in their bed, police said.

A preliminary police investigation found no history of domestic violence or calls for the Administration for Children’s Services to the family’s home, cop sources said.

Britney Spears suffers wardrobe malfunction during concert in Las Vegas (video)

Not Released (NR)
Britney Spears' latest concert almost turned toxic after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction onstage.
The pop icon was forced to hold her bra in place after one of the top straps came undone midway through her performance in Las Vegas on Sunday.
A backup dancer rushed up behind the "Toxic" singer and attempted to refasten the garment as she performed a cover of "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," but the strap broke loose once again moments after Spears walked away.
Another dancer then joined the first and tried to fix the broken lingerie as Spears, 34, continued to sing and dance in place.
The strap came undone one more time shortly after while Spears' began her hit "Gimme More." One of her male dancers ultimately just lent his button-down shirt, which she put on mid-song.
