Created by Hiroshi Ishiguro Laboratory at Osaka University, Geminoid F was the star attraction as people crowded round her to have their picture taken and speak to the android.
Some people have even remarked that they found Geminoid F "sexy".

Dad who killed paedophile for taking pictures of his children avoids jail

A millionaire who punched a paedophile to death after seeing him take pictures of his young daughter is to be spared jail. 
Dad-of-three Devinder Kainth was sentenced to six months after admitting the manslaughter of Sandro Rottman at a restaurant in the upmarket resort of Sotogrande, Spain.

But the sentence is to be suspended as he made a deal with prosecutors – and first offenders in Spain are normally not jailed unless they are given two years or more.
And it emerged Kainth, an estate agent, may even end up being let off with just a fine after his lawyer appealed. 
A source said: “Mr Kainth feels aggrieved as prosecutors offered him a suspended jail term replaceable by a fine.

“He agreed but the judge said the law had changed and the swap was off. Now he wants the deal of a fine he was offered.”

Rottman, 43, died in hospital after the attack in the Spinnaker Restaurant. Kainth, 39 – out for a meal with partner Gemma Hawkins and their children – turned violent after finding snaps of his kids on the computer programmer’s iPad.
Rottman, a German was facing trial at the time over child porn on his computer.
Judge Raquel Gomez Sancho, who sentenced Kainth after the deal, ruled Rottman’s health problems from heavy drinking had contributed to his death.

He has lost all of the muscle functions in his lower body and the pain he goes through daily is better imagined than described.Abiodun urgently needs Hips and Knee replacement surgery.  We hope to send him abroad for the replacement surgeries as soon as he is done with physiotherapy. Today his life hangs in the balance. He had to miss the compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) on account of his illness.

California just demanded Volkswagen recall another 16,000 VW, Audi, and Porsche vehicles

California air quality regulators on Wednesday demanded a recall of up to 16,000 additional Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche diesels as the Volkswagen emissions scandal widened.

The notice from the California Air Resources Board came less than a week after state and federal regulators disclosed that Volkswagen Group automakers installed software to cheat emissions tests on more diesels than initially thought.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board said last week the software was on about 85,000 Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche vehicles with 3-liter, six-cylinder engines going back to the 2009 model year.

Earlier this month, regulators accused VW of installing the so-called defeat device software on about 10,000 cars from the 2014 through 2016 model years.

The engines in question were built by Audi and distributed to Porsche and Volkswagen as well, said David Clegern, a California Air Resources Board spokesman. The automakers each independently certified their products with state and federal regulators and are therefore all responsible, he said.

Newborn baby discovered in New York church’s nativity scene

The custodian on duty at the Holy Child of Jesus Church in New York Monday beheld a scene straight out of Scripture. Hearing the sound of a baby’s cry, he found a newborn wrapped in towels laying inside, of all places, the wooden manger of the church’s nativity scene.

The infant, who weighed about 5 pounds, still had his umbilical cord attached. As emergency crews arrived to take him to the Jamaica Hospital in Queens, his eyes remained closed, his slight arms outstretched towards the sky.

“For unto us a child is born,” Rev. Christopher Ryan Heanue announced on the parish’s Facebook page. “Let us pray for this child, for his parents and for whomever will receive him into their home.”

Woman Missing For 10 Years Found Living In Internet Cafe

Xiao Yun had been missing since 2005 and her family presumed she was dead.

But she had been living in different Internet cafes in a nearby city since she left her home in the eastern Chinese city of Hengdian at age 14 after a heated argument with her mom. 

The now 24-year-old hugged her mom in an emotional reunion with her parents over the weekend after she was found in Hangzhou, about 100 miles from her family's home, reports the Qianjiang Evening News.

Mother, boyfriend charged in death of toddler burned in oven

Remember the story about the little girl who was burned in the oven by her older siblings? Well her mum and her boyfriend have been charged with four counts of child endangerment.
Racqual Thompson, 25, and Cornell Malone, 21, were arrested Tuesday morning and held on bonds totaling $36,000 apiece.
Fox 26 reported, citing Child Protective Services officials, that one of Thompson's children, a 3-year-old boy, admitted to putting 19-month-old J'zyra Thompson in the oven of the couple's northeast Houston apartment on the evening of Nov. 16. According to court records prosecutors filed Monday, Racqual Thompson told police she had left the children alone for about 30 minutes to pick up Malone from work.
Later that night, Thompson and Malone again left the children alone after putting them to bed to go get some pizza and visit Malone's brother. The couple was gone for about two hours.
"Mr. Malone stated that when they returned and went into the apartment, he could 'smell something burning,'" according to a probable cause affidavit.

Thompson and Malone told police they found the three other children crying and pointing to the kitchen. In the kitchen, the oven had tipped over, with the oven's door face down on the floor, with J'zyra apparently inside, according to the affidavit.
Malone "stated he uprighted the 'range' and the next thing he noticed was J'zyra was lying on the floor. He stated that she was obviously burned and deceased," according to the affidavit. The oven had apparently been turned on "all the way.

Cops are freaking out about a new type of marijuana — users say it just gets you really high

Police in Illinois are warning the public about an extremely potent drug that is gaining popularity in the state, saying it can "cause users to disconnect from reality" and might even lead to "hallucinations and other types of psychosis." The drug is called "shatter," and it sounds awfully scary until you learn that's just a concentrated form of marijuana.

Shatter — also known as wax, sap, budder, and a number of other nicknames, depending on the presentation — is a type of cannabis concentrate that resembles honey or taffy. It can be inhaled for a stronger high per hit than marijuana buds, the part of the plant that is commonly smoked.

Photos show teen disposing of teacher's body

Surveillance photos shown in court Monday in Philip Chism's murder trial show the then-14-year-old outside the Danvers, Massachusetts, school, wheeling a recycling bin that prosecutors say held the body of his slain algebra teacher.

The photos, apparently taken from a security camera video, come a week after the prosecution showed school security video of Chism following his teacher into the restroom, where he allegedly killed her.

Prosecutors contend Chism, now 16, followed teacher Colleen Ritzer, 24, into a girl's bathroom on the second floor of Danvers High School at 3:16 p.m. on October 22, 2013.

The most complicated situation in the world just got even trickier

Russian warplanes have been conducting airstrikes over Syria since late September, sometimes causing tension with Turkey when its planes come too close to the Turkish border.

These tensions finally came to a head on Tuesday, when a Russian warplane allegedly violated Turkish airspace and was shot down by Turkish F-16s.
