Frank Ocean’s Shocking Response To Pot Bust: Yeah, I Smoke It

Frank Ocean Pot Arrest Response
Oh, okay then.
Well, Frank Ocean killed all speculation about his recent pot bust by simply admitting to the crime.
Might want to take notes, Lindsay LohanBronson Pelletier andLindsay Lohan Jr. Amanda Bynes.
After being cited for possession of marijuana when he was pulled over for speeding, Frank kept it honest on Twitter:
We're not sure anyone's handling his PR with this move, but we kind of like the approach.
It's certainly better than denying the crime when there is videofootage of you doing it, like some OTHER people!
That doesn't seem so smart…cough coughBRONSONcough.

Nollywood Actress Bisi Komolafe Laid To Rest (PHOTOS)

The funeral ceremony for the late Bisi Komolafe, the Yoruba movie actress, who died in the early hours of 1 January at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, western Nigeria, commenced this morning Friday, January 4, 2013 at 9AM amid tears.
The funeral mass took place at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oke Padre in Ibadan. She was then buried at a cemetery a few metres away from the mortuary.
Most of Bisi’s friends and colleagues are still shocked over her death. Those who managed to speak described the death as a big blow to the industry, considering the fact that she was one of the most promising and versatile actresses.
One of her best friends in the industry, Titi Osinowo, said: “I’m not in the right frame of mind to talk about Bisi now. I still can’t still believe she is gone. Wait a minute, does it mean we won’t see Bisi again?”
Bisi’s publicist, Faith Irabor, said: “She was like my sister and she was in her prime. I’m a woman and could be a victim of what happened to her. This is very sad indeed.”
Some of the movies she starred in are Igboro Ti Daru, Aye Ore Meji, Ogbe Inu, Akanmole, Alakada and Akun.
Fellow actor, Saheed Balogun, has disclaimed the stories making the rounds that Komolafe’s death was as a result of fetish practices and husband snatching scandals.
‘You or I’, says, “I find it very absurd that anyone would attribute the death or illness of any Yoruba actor to juju. Many people die every day as a result of various ailments but the reason behind the hullabaloo over the death of a star is just because we are popular. It has nothing to do with jazz (evil forces) and no one knows the day he/she will die besides God. It is just sad that she died at a time when she was about to blow in the industry and fans looked forward to more works from her.”Bisi Komolafe

Victims cry for justice as Dana Air resumes flights

Dana airExactly seven months after its plane crashed in a Lagos suburb, killing 153 people, Dana Airyesterday resumed its operations.
The airline’s return to business followed the clearing of the hurdles set by aviation authorities after the crash.
Its maiden flight 9J0359 on its MD-83 aircraft took off from the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 in Lagos to Abuja.
As early as noon, the airline’s ticketing personnel were at the terminal, selling tickets to passengers for the 4.20 pm flight.
The airline sold one-way ticket to intending passengers heading for Abuja from Lagos at N14, 400.
With Dana’s return, the number of domestic airlines operating in the country has increased to five. The others are Arik, Aero, IRS and Med-View.
A ticketing officer, who preferred to remain anonymous, told NAN that the fare was aimed at attracting passengers and to appreciate them for the support given to the airline during its trying period. Other airlines charge N24, 800 for a one way Lagos to Abuja trip.
After some hours of pre- flight preparations, the airline closed its ticket counter. Boarding announcement followed and the plane departed at 4.14 pm.
Passengers boarded the aircraft through Gate 8 of the MMA2.
Most would-be passengers said they were watching to see how the inaugural flight would go, before deciding on their patronage of the carrier.
It could not be ascertained how many passengers boarded the flight, but workers at the MMA 2 said they saw many passengers on the queue, buying tickets. Officials of the airline also did not give details of the flight.
An official of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr. James Shallangwa, said yesterday in Abuja that Dana will operate a flight to Lagos from Abuja today.
Shallangwa, Head of Commercial at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Internatonal Airport, Abuja, said Minister of Aviation Princess Stella Oduah had issued a resumption letter to the airline to recommence operation after its plane crashed in Lagos on June 3, last year.
Mr Tony Usidamen, the Head, Corporate Communications, Dana Air, confirmed the resumption. Mr Kayode Adeniran, the Dana Station Manager at the NAIA, said the airline would have its inaugural flight at 9:45a.m. today from Abuja to Lagos.
The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) revoked Dana’s operation licence, pending proper investigation into the cause of the crash.
In September, last year, the Federal Government reinstated the airline’s licence and allowed it to resume without any flight operations. In December 2012, NCAA issued a new Air Operators Certificate to Dana Air after it completed recertification.
But, the victims of the crash, who are yet to be compensated for property lost to the disaster which claimed over 150 lives, said the airline had been unfair to them. The victims, including widows and young parents with many children, have cried out to both the Federal and Lagos State governments to ensure that what is left of their lives is not shattered. Those who spoke to The Nation lamented the insincerity with which the airline has treated their case. Spokesman of ‘seriously affected victims’ Chike Okwuosa said he was disappointed that the Federal Government allowed the airline to address their matter with levity. He said: “My lawyer, Mr. Monday Ubani, told me they have not done anything. He said after several letters to them, they wrote more than two months ago that they needed additional information, which he forwarded to them.”But till now, nothing has been done; instead, we heard they are resuming their business when they have destroyed ours. Is that fair?”Ubani, who spoke to The Nation on the telephone, said he expected the government to ensure that all affected persons were compensated by the airline before returning the licence to the airline. He said: “What Dana is doing is really crazy. They have not paid anything or said anything to the victims. They wrote me two months ago that they wanted additional information, which I immediately provided.”Since then, I have not heard from them. The government should have ensured that they settle all the affected persons before returning their licence to them. But since their licence has been returned even before now, the government should compel them to attend to the aggrieved persons.”They are just trying to tie people down. They killed a lot of people, destroyed so many property and no one seem to be saying anything.”I have tried to avoid litigation, but if by the end of January they are still nonchalant about the plight of those their business are adversely affected, we will have no other option than to go to court.”Pastor Daniel Omuwunmi, who lost over N500 million to the disaster, said the airline, after a series of letters from his counsel – Messrs Dele Adesina and Co., made an offer of $30, 000. Omuwunmi, who spoke through a counsel at the law firm of Olumide Olaiya, told The Nation that the offer was rejected because the airline had not even written to accept or negotiate his claims. He said: “They have not done anything. We never heard from them until the last working week of December when they made an offer of $30, 000 to Pastor Omuwunmi as advance payment.”What are they advancing? All the efforts we made to bring them to the negotiation table were rebuffed. We expected them to reply our letter, or even say what they intend to pay from the claims before them which are verifiable.”$30,000 is less than N5 million. So, a man who lost nothing less than N500 million, what will $30, 000 do for him? He rightly rejected the money. Besides, $30, 000 was the same amount they paid to all on board victims as advance. So, why come to offer a man who lost everything he had $30, 000 without even writing to acknowledge or reject his claims?”They said their insurers are still processing our claims and so, we are also waiting to hear from them.”

Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, the Igba of Warri, has rejected the Christmas gifts sent to her by Delta State Government. In an open letter addressed to the state governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Chief Lori-Ogbebor stated that she returned the cow, rice and.other gifts due to her disappointment in Uduaghan’s administration.
She said: “By now, you already know my stand on the way you run the administration of Delta State. I feel unhappy and depressed to see the.state and Itsekiriland declining from the time you assumed office. “I have spoken to you as a mother to a son. Itsekiri riverine areas are declining educationally and economically. The way our land is today shows no planning or foresight. There is no creation of jobs, neither is there adequate security of lives and property. For many years, there has been fighting and bloodletting in Escravos. In fact, things have got worse since you became governor.”

Cocaine, Lies, Erectile Dysfunction? Sean Paul, Atlantic Records SUED for $80Million by the Artist’s Ex-Girlfriend!

Sean Paul Sued for 80Million by Ex Girlfriend 300x154 Cocaine, Lies, Erectile Dysfunction? Sean Paul, Atlantic Records SUED for $80Million by the Artists Ex Girlfriend!

This case is very interesting and not pretty. I’d like to see the complaint that was filed. The attorney filing the case in behalf of his client clearly believes there is evidence to substantiate the claims. Otherwise, it would be deemed a frivolous lawsuit. This is a case I will revisit, possibly, once I get my hands on the complaint to read it. Interesting that in the allegations according to many news outlets reporting this story, the facts giving rise to legal claims as pled in the complaint includes a tell it all on cocaine use, lies and Sean Paul’s alleged erectile dysfunction as a result of such use. I need to see this complaint to even discuss this case. It is too crazy to be real the way it is reported.
I can tell you one thing for sue. Sean Paul is going to need a take no prisoner shut things down kind of trial lawyer to make this go away, quickly. He is also going to need a solid, above average PR team. Crazy times ahead.
Dancehall star Sean Paul has been hit with an $80 million lawsuit from a former lover.
Susanne Persson filed papers at Manhattan Supreme Court in New York late last month, alleging the star had her illegally deported from Jamaica and drove her to attempt suicide.
In the documents, she claims, “I had tried to kill myself, losing more than one liter of blood from a cut on my wrist. I had shown the pictures of the cuts to Sean over the Internet. I feel he should see what he had caused.”
Persson made the alleged attempt on her life in June, 2010, a day before she was deported back to her native Sweden by officials.
She claims Paul “bribed Jamaican police” to kick her out of the country – an allegation the star’s representative denies.
Attorney Tom Taveres-Finson tells the New York Post, “He would not have the power to do that.”
Persson is seeking $80 million in damages from Sean Paul, his road manager Steve Wilson, and the star’s label, Atlantic Records.
She claims she was a “jet set slave” for Paul, and threatened to go public about his “lies… and erection problems” when he allegedly threatened to have her deported.
Her court documents include a receipt for a flight from Jamaica to Stockholm, Sweden, which was paid for by Headline Entertainment, Sean Paul’s Kingston-based management company.
Paul has refused to comment on the pending litigation.
