Jennifer Hudson: I've Forgiven Eric Balfour After Brutal Family Murder

Jennifer Hudson can forgive the man, but she can't forgive the act.
Less than a month after her brother-in-law, William Balfour, was convicted of murdering her 57-year-old mother, Darnell Donerson, her 29-year-old brother, Jason Hudson, and her 7-year-old nephew, Julian King, on October 24, 2008, the Academy Award winner shared her grief during an appearance on September 9 episode of Oprah's Next Chapter.
(On July 24, Balfour, 31, was sentenced to three consecutive life terms in prison without the possibility of ever being paroled.)
"I'm not letting him off the hook for anything," Hudson, 30, told host Oprah Winfrey, 58. Though she holds him "very responsible" for murdering her immediate family members, Hudson said she's also learned to forgive Balfour.
"I feel like, for the most part, it's not his fault. It's what he was taught. How was brought up. We tried to offer love, but he was so far gone, he couldn't even see that. A lot of things came out [during the trial] that we didn't even know about from his upbringing. . . He never had a chance. He never had a chance," Hudson explained. "Had he had the love that my mother gave us, or the background that some have, then he would have stood a chance. How could your heart not go out to that?"
When Cook County Circuit Judge Charles Burns delivered Balfour's sentencing in July, the singer -- who finished in seventh place on American Idol in 2004 -- "felt so many things," she told Winfrey. "There was definitely a celebration because he's off the streets. My child [David, Jr., 3] is going to be safe."
Hudson's interview with Winfrey was conducted on August 14 -- what would have been her nephew's 11th birthday. "I haven't been to the grave site since we buried them, but now I want to go because I feel like, 'Okay, we've accomplished this. We've done this. We got justice for you. We can't come back here empty handed,'" Hudson said. "So now I feel like I deserve to be able to see them."
With Balfour behind bars, Hudson feels she's gotten closure -- even though the tragedy will haunt her forever. "I remember one time when William had an argument with my sister. They had split up he went up to her job and he told her, 'I'm gonna take Julian,'" Hudson shared. "And Julian went home and told my mother, and my mother said, 'Over my dead baby.' That's exactly what happened."

D'Banj disowns Nigerians, parties with Ladacris

African music maestro and entrepreneur, D’Banj was expected at an event last weekend in Lagos, but was no where to be found. We just reliably gathered that the Koko master joined other international superstars Akon, Ludacris, Kevin Hart, Pusha T and many other stars at the 7th Annual Luda Day Weekend which held over the weekend.
The five day event which was organized by the Ludacris Foundation included a celebrity basketball party as well as a Welcome to Atlanta Dinner.
D’Banj who only recently opened for British singer and songwriter Rita Ora is currently having a scintillating international career. He notes that artistes have come a long way from being just singers and musicians and are giving back positively to their communities. We’re wearing many hats now, ’entrepreneurs’ ‘activists’ ‘social icons’ ‘role models’ and so much more.”
“Music,at any time, can place millions of individuals on one united platform. We always say that music is our ‘bridge to connect with the people’. Well, its time more acts walked the talk, just like Ludacris and other artistes are doing, and give back to their community, he concluded.

Football star tortured and killed mistress, then fed her dismembered body to his dogs

A star footballer is to go on trial accused of torturing and killing his mistress, then feeding her dismembered body parts to his pet dogs.

Married Bruno Fernandes de Souza, 27, a goalkeeper once tipped to play for Brazil, is alleged to have turned model Eliza Samudio 'into a human sacrifice' to preserve his reputation after she gave birth to his love child.

He is already serving a four-and-a-half-year prison sentence after being convicted of assaulting and abducting Ms Samudio, 25, but will be tried for her murder later this year.

Prosecutors allege that Bruno planned Ms Samudio's kidnap and murder with eight others, including his wife Dayane, a teenage cousin and former detective Luiz Santos, all of whom have been charged with murder, conspiracy to murder and kidnapping.

The goalkeeper, who played for Brazilian club Flamengo, is said to have watched as Santos committed 'barbaric tortures' on Ms Samudio before helping the former detective dismember her body.

Parts of the woman's body are alleged to have been fed to Bruno's dogs while the rest was buried in concrete.

Bruno is accused of ordering his wife to tell people that his love child, who was four months old at the time of the killing, had been adopted by them from a poor relative.

It is also claimed that Bruno told police Ms Samudio was 'a whore who will not be missed by anyone'.

A Brazilian newspaper has reported that the prosecution at the trial will allege that Bruno attacked a supporter, smoked cannabis and attended orgies with fellow players.

Edson Moreira, a detective who investigated the case, told the Sunday Express: 'An idol like Bruno, from such a major team, has turned out to be a monster.

'We have witnesses who will testify that he turned this girl into a human sacrifice merely to try to protect his reputation.'

The trial is expected to hear that Bruno met Ms Samudio at a party held by a teammate.

'Unfortunately for her, they slept together that night and she later discovered she was pregnant,' Mr Moreira said. 'When she approached de Souza and told him he was the father, he became enraged.

Prosecutors will allege that Bruno planned Ms Samudio's murder after she told him she would take legal action to prove he was the father of her child.

In a statement to police, his cousin claimed that, led by Santos, they kidnapped Ms Samudio from a hotel in Rio de Janeiro on June 4, 2010.

He said they drove her some 220 miles to a property in Belo Horizonte which the footballer and his wife used occasionally as a weekend retreat, where Ms Samudio was tortured.

It is claimed that Santos played loud music on the stereo to drown out the woman's screams.

Bruno, whose contract with Flamengo has been suspended, also faces charges of kidnapping, hiding a body and forming a criminal gang with intent to murder.

He has maintained his innocence throughout, claiming he has a 'clear conscience'.

Al Pacino attached to play Joe Paterno

Joe Paterno’s legacy may soon unfold on film.

Deadline Hollywood reports that a biopic of the late Penn State football coach is in the works, with Al Pacino attached to star as JoePa. The beloved sports figure died in January at 85 following his exit from the football program in November, 2011 amidst a child sexual abuse scandal.

The film, to be produced by Pacino’s manager, Rick Nicita, will be based on the best-selling biography from sportswriter Joe Posnanski, “Paterno.” Deadline suspects the film’s arc will include the controversy that led to Paterno’s dismissal, but notes that the movie would focus on much more than that.

As patterned after Posnanski’s book, the project is expected to highlight Paterno’s family, his pre-Penn State life as well as the impact he made at the university.

However, much needs to happen before the film could be viewed as a sure thing: No deal’s in place, there isn’t a script, and the project doesn’t yet have a director attached to helm.

Miley Cyrus Avoids Scissor-Wielding Intruder

Miley Cyrus managed to avoid an especially unwelcome guest on her Los Angeles property early Saturday morning.
The Associated Press reports that an unidentified man, clutching a pair of scissors, tried to force his way inside Cyrus' Studio City area residence around 4 a.m., claiming to be a friend of the "Can't Be Tamed" singer. (Cyrus, luckily, was not home at the time.)
Los Angeles police Lt. Brian Wendling says authorities were called by employees inside the house; law enforcement officials arrested the suspect after they saw him jump behind some bushes on the property.
No charges have been filed against the trespasser at this time.

Fresh beef: Wizkid vs Davido

Fans dreaded this day, media experts predicted it, and even the artistes in question tried avoiding it, but it seemed inevitable from the very beginning a once buoyant relationship between Ayo Wizkid Balogun and David Davido Adeleke has finally hit the rocks.

The young pop stars are currently at loggerheads, and JamBaze can exclusively tell you that the vibrant ‘Wizzy’ and ‘Omo baba olowo’ are no longer on speaking terms.

Both artistes’ camps have taken sides and are on the verge of calling out names, the tension between both artistes keeps threatening the air of peace left.

Recently Davido and his HKN label crew were reported to have walked out of the NEA Awards show while Wizkid was performing. Fans are already asking questions, the most popular one being ‘what started it all?’

The dispute between Wizkid and Davido might seem sudden to the general public, but it dates back longer than we think. The cause? You’ll have to thank two very important men in the Nigerian music industry – D’banj and Don Jazzy.

FIRST BLOOD

It all started with the news of D’banj signing Davido to his DB Records back in May 2012 – the news turned out to be false, but this obviously didn’t go down well with the ‘other camp.’

‘You see Davido was very close to Don Jazzy and the Mo’hits squad before they parted with D’banj. When Jazzy heard Davido signed with D’banj, he wasn’t entirely happy’, a close friend of both camps tells JamBaze.

SECOND ROUND’S ON ME

Don Jazzy is said to have immediately told Wande Coal (who mentors both Wizkid and Davido) to stop visiting Davido at his Lekki home.

Davido, at the time, was still recording his debut album and had plans to collaborate with Wande and Wizzy on separate songs. When Davido contacted Wande Coal, the pop singer’s management asked for an exorbitant fee (reportedly N1.5m) for the collabo. Sources say Davido was keen to get it done, but his manager Asa Asika was having none of it.  This ‘sudden policy’ led to a war of words between Asika and Wande’s manager Nana. The collabo never happened. Wande and Davido stopped talking and calling each other.

STRIKE THREE

Davido moved on to record the much talked about duet with Wizkid. But when he sent the instrumental to the EME team, Wizkid, sources say, told them he couldn’t work with Davido on the song, saying the beat wasn’t up to standard and he didn’t want to lower his brand. Little did Davido know that it was his fight with Wande that made him (Wizkid) immediately take sides.

‘Wande is like Wizkid’s elder brother. Wizzy looks up to him a lot and anything Wande says, Wizkid will do. When Wande told him about what happened between him and Davido, he just took sides with him straight’, says our inside source.

Davido, losing on both ends, scrapped both songs and even though it was a huge blow, he didn’t let it get him down. The disappointment is said to have inspired the first track on his album ‘All of you.’ Davido, well known for his boisterous attitude, laid it all out on the song, claiming to be better than ‘everyone’, referencing artistes such as 2face, Psquare and D’banj as his mentors, conspicuously leaving out the MAVIN and EME crew. The MAVINS seemingly responded by not attending Davido’s album launch held at the Eko Hotel and Suites

‘Davido doesn’t send Don Jazzy or them Banky W again, that’s what inspired that song, he believes they aren’t better than him and to an extent he does prove it’ said our source.

AS IT STANDS

After the Don Jazzy - D’banj split, crew members decamped and spoils were taken. While Don Jazzy took with him pop singers Wande Coal, Dr SID, and rapper D’Prince, and launched his MAVIN Records label with a surprise signing Tiwa Savage, D’banj went the other way with his younger brother Kay Switch. Other familiar friends like Naeto C, Ikechukwu, Davido, the HKN Gang and Mo’Hits hype man Special Ed readily affiliates themselves with D’banj.

SHOW AND PROVE

Music pundits are already weighing in on what a Wizkid - Davido fight would look like, so mmm360 decided to do a short review of both acts.

Davido might look like the rookie with just 21 months in the game, but with the release of his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo: The Genesis,’ both artistes are on the same level as regards the number of albums released (Wizkid released his debut Superstar in 2011)

Wizkid had a grand album launch at the Eko Hotel and Suites in 2011, with high profile guests including the First Lady of Lagos State Abimbola Fashola, Davido held his album launch at the same venue, also attended by notable personalities, including billionaire Aliko Dangote.

Both artistes have financial backing – Wizkid has spent the last year performing at multiple shows, earning cool millions. Davido, not long after the release of his monster single Dami duro started earning big cash, performing in shows as far as Malaysia. We won’t even mention his billionaire dad’s backing.

‘Davido is throwing all the money into his music; he shot four videos before the release of his album and has shot another two. He plans to even shoot more’ a friend adds.

International recognition and collaborations? Wizkid easily leads in that area, having recorded with Akon, with unreleased material with rappers Wale, Young Jeezy and Kardinal Offishal. But it’s only a matter of time before Davido jumps on the train, starting with a rumoured remix of his Ekuro single with Akon.

Davido equally matches Wizkid’s artistic versatility with sheer energy and an ear for contemporary sound. For every song Wizzy switches his flow from Fuji to R&B to Patois, Davido releases ‘today’s music’, easily turning his songs into chart toppers. Talented duo!

Both artistes have solid backing from their labels. In 2012, Banky W finally moulded the EME crew into a powerful unit, with extra signings Niyola, Shaydee and affiliates Rotimi and X.O Senavoe. Davido has kept the business within the family – signing his cousins Sinarambo, B.Red, former Mo’Hits affiliate producer Shizzi (Dami duro) and DJ Snatch.

WHAT ARE THE FANS SAYING?

Fans are closely watching who will call the other out first, but are already baring their minds, with Wizkid receiving major support. But, some say it might not matter at all.

‘These fans supporting Wizkid, would they stop dancing to Davido’s music in the clubs? Not possible,’ a mutual friend says.

12 Unforgettable Moments In VMA History: Live Snakes, Baby Bumps, Meat Dresses, Oh My!

Live snakes, 50 pounds of raw meat, and a pregnancy! No, I'm not talking about a class camping trip gone horribly awry. I'm talking about some of my all-time favorite moments in VMA history. The craziest, most over-the-top, most unexpected, only-on-MTV (because trust me, they'll let you do anything from hang yourself from the rafters of Radio City to make out with Madonna) moments. The VMAs are a night of more access to celebrities than a year's worth of gossip mags combined (except MUCH better music, and none of that who-wore-it-better stuff), where unforgettable live performances – Eminem's army of bleached-blonde Marshall Mathers lookalikes storming Radio City at the 2000 VMAs – and fleeting moments – Beyonce's coy, joyous pat of her belly at the 2011 MTV VMAs – instantly become the stuff of pop culture legend and lore.

Some of my all-time favorite VMA moments include Britney Spears' late arrival to home room – which perfectly coincided with what would become the first of more than a decade's worth of VMA appearances – during her 1999 VMA performance debut – plus, well, a whole lot more Britney. Check out 12 of my favorite, most unforgettable moments in VMA history, vote for your favorite, and get ready for the VMAs by watching must-see moments from the 2011 VMAs.

1.) Madonna performs "Like A Virgin" at the first-ever VMAs in 1984: Neil Armstrong planted a flag in the ground to signify to the world that he'd landed on the moon. Madonna humped the stage at the first-ever VMAs in 1984 during her performance of "Like A Virgin" to signify to the world that she'd landed on the map. Decades later, the expectation of an appropriate level of inappropriateness during VMA performances still abides.

2.) Nirvana performs "Lithium" at the 1992 VMAs, chaos ensues: Back in the early '90s, when reality TV was basically just the nightly news and Snooki was just a 5-year-old figuring out how to perfect a pre-kindergarten hair poof, Nirvana gave one of their most unforgettable live performances (and perhaps the greatest rock performance in VMA history, despite an amp malfunction), Punking MTV execs by playing the first few lines of "Rape Me" (an anti-establishment hat tip), capped off by a perfect ending: Kurt Cobain smashing the band's instruments, Krist Novoselic accidentally smashing his face with a bass, and Dave Grohl bating Axl Rose, who'd allegedly challenged Kurt to a fight backstage before the show. The fun didn't stop there, though. Nirvana also sent a Michael Jackson impersonator to the stage to accept their Best Alternative Video VMA for "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

3.) Michael Jackson performs a 15-minute medley of hits at the 1995 VMAs: As the king of pop and the unofficial but undisputed king of MTV (sorry, Carson), Michael Jackson enjoyed an eminent and celebrated VMA career. In 1995, a year after he and then-wife Lisa Marie Presley shocked VMA viewers with their on-stage PDA (ahhhh, newlyweds), he opened the VMAs with a 15-minute medley of hits like "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough" and "Black or White," backed by Slash on guitar, followed by Basically, the VMAs turned into a mini Michael Jackson concert. That same night, Michael and Janet Jackson shared the VMA stage when "Scream" picked up VMAs for Best Dance Video, Best Art Direction and Best Choreography.

4.) Courtney Love interrupts Madonna's interview the 1995 VMA Pre-Show: Oh, how I love a good, cold cat fight. Especially when it involves flying beauty products. And Madonna. And Courtney Love. No stranger to controversy (or to NGAF), Courtney Love crashed Madonna's interview with Kurt Loder at the VMA Pre-Show by throwing her compact onto the platform. A clearly annoyed Madonna, to her credit, stayed patient and detached until she eventually just shut. it. down. Oh, Courtney. There's a time and place for everything. And this wasn't it. Until it was.

5.) Fiona Apple wins Best New Artist at the 1997 VMAs, DNGAF: Fiona Apple won Best New Artist at the 1997 VMAs, and instead of thanking her label, management, and/or God, she used her time in front of the mic to remind viewers that "this world is bull****." Because it was the '90s! And no one was happy!

6.) Britney Spears makes her VMA debut with "Baby One More Time" at the 1999 VMAs: Although she was essentially their opening act, Britney Spears kicked off *NSYNC's "Tearin' Up My Heart" VMA performance (and essentially managed to upstage them) with her own "Baby One More Time." NSYNC fans may remember the guys' sleveelessness and white-boy dreads and their dancers' now-hilarious skin-tight mock turtlenecks and lamé pants, but Britney Stans and pop culture obsessives will never forget the moment Britney stepped onto the VMA stage for the very first time.

7.) Eminem performs "The Real Slim Shady/The Way I Am" with an Eminem army at the 2000 VMAs: Before he took over Radio City Music Hall, Eminem took to the streets of New York, leading a posse of hundreds of Emimen clones dressed in his then-signature style Рhighlighter yellow buzz cut, oversized white tees, baggy jeans Рinto the 2000 VMAs for his performance of "The Real Slim Shady" and "The Way I Am." The result was a mesmerizing moir̩ of Marshal Mathers, and even when the real Slim Shady himself stood up, it was hard to correctly ID him. Eminem won the Best Male Video (in addition to Best Rap Video and Video Of The Year) that year for "The Real Slim Shady," and forebodingly, when he reached into his pocket to pull out his acceptance speech, he accidentally dumped out a handful of pills onto the stage. But after his legendary "The Real Slim Shady" performance Рperhaps one of best rap performances of the show's history РEminem dropped a classic zinger on stage by referring to the VMAs as "the one night where you can fit all these people I don't like into one room." Burn notice!

8.) Britney Spears performs "I'm A Slave 4 U" WITH A LIVE SNAKE at the 2001 VMAs: All it took to become an instant VMA legend and own one of the most unforgettable live performances in pop music was Britney Spears (in peak form), and a seven-foot albino python named Banana. Just say the words "Britney Spears" and "snake," and anyone who saw her iconic 2001 VMA performance (and surely you have if you're reading this) will immediately conjure the chill-inducing iconic image of Britney – arrestingly sexy in a green bikini top and abs you could bounce a basketball off of – fearlessly gyrating across the dangerously pyro-rigged stage, with a wild reptile draped over her shoulders like NBD.

9.) Rihanna performs "Disturbia" atop a wooden volcano on wheels at the 2008 VMAs: Am I the only one who still goes hard for Rihanna's 2008 VMA performance of "Disturbia"? Staging a televised production of "scary" could easy veer off into campy "It's A Small World After All" territory (nothing's scarier than scary-gone-cheesy) but Rihanna nailed both suspenseful and sexy and managed to throw in nods to the White Stripes and steampunk. Why are we not still talking about that? I am.

10.) Janet Jackson performs a dance tribute in honor and memory of Michael Jackson at the 2009 VMAs: With Michael Jackson's untimely passing less than three months prior, the 2009 VMAs could not go on without a fitting tribute to the King of Pop. After a sobering eulogy by Madonna, Janet Jackson, along with some of the best dancers and dancers and choreographers in the game, let loose a mind-bending pop spectacle of theatrics, special effects, and superhuman dance. Through her post-modern performance of "Scream," in lockstep with the visual of her brother on the screen behind her – she allowed Michael to live – and dance – again, before blowing a kiss to her brother above, leaving the astonished audience at Radio City – and watching on TV – transcended and gutted.

11.) Lady Gaga eschews couture in favor of a meat dress at the 2010 VMAs: The VMA invite pretty much comes with a mandate to dress COMPLETELY NUTS. And apparently Lady Gaga misread "completely nuts" as "completely meat," because she wore 50 pounds of it to the VMAs. Ring a bell? Meat dress! You remember now, right?

12.) Beyonce reveals her baby bump at the 2011 VMAs: Ohey, remember when Beyonce let the ENTIRE WORLD in on a little secret? Here's a refresher: after NAILING her debut performance of "Love On Top" (when you're Beyonce, all you really need is a sparkly blazer, a leotard and that smile), Beyonce opened her jacket and patted her belly to reveal that an itty, bitty baby Blue Ivy was burgeoning inside of her. IN CASE YOU FORGOT. Oh, and then Twitter basically broke.

Michael Clarke Duncan’s Alleged Daughter Trying To Extort Money From Family

A woman has come forward to claim that she is the long-lost daughter of late actor Michael Clarke Duncan.
Duncan’s family grief has reportedly been fuelled by a woman who claims she is entitled to part of his estate as she is allegedly his daughter.
According to Radar Online, Marqay Ambrose, 32, says she hadn’t spoken to Duncan for 11-years but wants to claim “what’s mine.”
“The only thing that really bothers me about him passing is that we didn’t fix. That’s the only thing that I hate. I hate it, but it doesn’t bother me that I’m not mentioned,” Marqay told the website.
However, Duncan’s family apparently refuse to believe Marqay’s allegations and have no idea who she is. “Michael did date Marqay’s mother, but he believed he was not her father. He was in the hospital for 53 days, and she never once reached out or tried to talk to him then,” a source said.
“It was the DAY he died that she started calling his mother saying ‘I want what’s mine’ and trying to get money from her.”
She seems very opportunistic to be making the calls now, especially to his 93-year-old mother on the day her son died. Why wouldn’t she have tried to visit him after he had his heart attack?”
“Why didn’t she try and reach out to him while he was alive? It all seems like she just wants money and didn’t ever care about having a relationship with him.”
When the website tried to reach out to Marquay, she denied trying to extort money from Duncan’s family.

It is time for authorities in the banking sector to look into  Bank management sector with regards to the working conditions of their staff and unreasonable target that is causing the death of those in marketing unit. This is getting out of control.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace....amen!
