After a day of speculation, we finally have a peek inside of Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian's fairy tale wedding.

The couple tied the knot on Thursday night at the Contemporary Arts Center of New Orleans in front of 200 family and friends, including Beyoncé, Kim Kardashian, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Anna Wintour and Venus Williams, among others.

The top-secret affair was kept largely off of social media for the first 24 hours, so details of the "Beauty and the Beast"-themed nuptials were scarce. Paparazzi photos from outside the ceremony and reception showed a star-studded crowd -- also including Eva Longoria, LaLa Anthony, Tina Knowles and Caroline Wozniacki -- and inside Serena and Alexis danced their first dance to "Tale As Old As Time." "Be Our Guest" played as guests entered the reception.

15 Black Men Arrested By a Corrupt Cop Are Cleared of All Convictions

Flashing lights on top of police patrol car

One by one, the men told the same story: A Chicago police officer would demand money from them. And if they didn’t pay, they would find themselves in handcuffs with drugs stuffed in their pockets.

A Cook County judge on Thursday threw out the felony drug convictions of 15 black men who all say they were locked up for no other reason except that they refused to pay Ronald Watts.
It was the largest mass exoneration in memory in Chicago. And even in a city where it has become almost routine for police misconduct to lead to overturned convictions, the courthouse had never seen anything like the order issued in front of more than a dozen men whose lives were changed forever by the former sergeant.

Nicki Minaj's paper shoot bashed by rapper eve

Nicki Minaj performing in 2017

Nicki Minaj broke the internet this week with her raunchy shoot for PAPER magazine and, like anything remotely sexual, people have divided opinions.

We're sure that the rap queen is used to be people criticising her sexuality, however we did not expect it to come from one of her own... yet here we are.

Eve, the multi-hyphenate talent who started out as one of rap's fiercest divas, has hit out at Minaj's photo shoot, suggesting she sets a bad example for young women.
“I worked with Nicki, I got to know her on Barbershop [the 2016 movie]. She’s a nice person, she’s an amazing rapper, and as a lyricist I respect her,” Eve said on The Talk, before a very big but.

“...but as a woman, from my point of view, personally, I would not be able to do that. I think in this climate, it’s not good.”

SAD: 26 young Nigerian migrant women laid to rest in Italy

People touch the coffins after the memorial service.
Twenty-six matching coffins for the mostly nameless victims of the latest Mediterranean migrant disaster were lined up in two rows in the center of the main cemetery in Salerno in southern Italy on Friday.

Local representatives from the Muslim and Catholic communities blessed each coffin. Local students, refugees and survivors of the incident that killed the Nigerian victims laid white roses on their coffins. Ten were interred in Salerno. The others were put in hearses and taken to area cemeteries.
The 26 women and girls were in a rubber dinghy that capsized in the Mediterranean on November 5. Also on board were 150 or more other people, according to Salerno chief prosecutor Corrado Lembo, who says as many as 100 people are considered missing.
The Spanish vessel Cantabria brought the bodies to Salerno with the 64 survivors of the shipwreck, along with 400 migrants who had been rescued in operations off the coast of Libya.

JOINT DECLARATION CALLS ON US TO DEMAND PALESTINIANS RECOGNIZE JEWISH STATE

israel united states

t’s a demand that has been made of the Palestinians by various Israeli leaders in the past, but an unprecedented Knesset-congressional joint declaration issued on Wednesday called on the US administration to demand that the Palestinians recognize the State of Israel as the national homeland of the Jewish people as a precondition to future talks.

The declaration, signed by members of the congressional Israel Victory Caucus and the Knesset Israel Victory Caucus, declares that “the primary obstacle to ending the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is the near century of Palestinian rejectionism of the right of self-determination for the Jewish People”, and that, “only Palestinian acknowledgment of the Jewish People’s historic connection to the Land of Israel, and acceptance of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state, will end the conflict.”

The Israel Victory Project is an initiative of the Philadelphia- based Middle East Forum, whose stated aim is to shift the paradigm to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by declaring Israeli victory.

The declaration was signed during a visit to Washington and New York by co-chairman of the Knesset Caucus Oded Forer (Yisrael Beytenu) and caucus member Avraham Neguise (Likud). The Israeli lawmakers met with their counterparts in the congressional caucus, from both sides of the aisle, as well as other senior US decision makers and opinion shapers, and Jewish and Christian leaders.
